While it's early, many think we may have struck gold with this draft class. What is even more unbelievable, UDFA's are making noise. We all know about Mike Bell, but another is making noise.

Biography: Cameron Vaughn was considered a steal when he unexpectedly fell out of the draft and into the Broncos' hands as an undrafted rookie free agent in April. More than three months later, he is still considered a steal.

Vaughn has had a very strong camp and is opening eyes. Saturday, the coaching staff rewarded him with some nickel linebacker time. He has a chance to make the roster. Vaughn was a three-year starter at Louisiana State University.

What also helps him is versatilty. He is seen as able to play all 3 LB spots.

You have to wonder if we keep 7 LBs this year? Good to see him doing well at LB, but he will need to be a ST stud to avoid PS IMO.

Totally agree, b/c Burnsy's likely not to get cut.

Any old time will tell you that I have vehemently hated our drafts. We drafted for defense literally for 4 years straight and wound up with D.J. Williams. I'm not talking about last year, I was surprised how well our corners have developed. But name one starter other than D.J. we drafted. Trading Portis to get a 63 million dollar CB is not a bargain priced rookie draft choice. We paid top dollar for that meat, and well spent IMO. He's not a cap issue.

We don't even have draftees as backups on the DL. Dumervil...I guess...that's this years draft anyway.

Shanahan saw the offense getting stale and has given it a MAJOR infusion and we continue to seem to pluck players out of thin air better than we can draft.

I can't even start to tell you how excited I am about this new class, but the draftees or the free agents. Like Bonnie Rait sings "It's too soon to tell"...but I think this is a bin buster offseason.

Between the draft class and free agents, I think we get like 8 players making the roster. Cutler, I'm going to count Walker, Scheff, Marshall, Dumbervil is getting his chance...Hixon will go on IR. I still don't understand that choice...Kuper sounds strong...Eslinger get the PS.

The point is this is a great looking draft and that isn't homer, because I'm the scrooge of drafts. Rejoice we have managed a kick ass draft after going to the AFC Championship!

So bitter the taste....

This year we bury them alive and don't look back...

Burns and Webster are in for sure. That is 5. If we keep 6, it comes down to Louis Green and Vaughn. Green has done well on ST so Vaughn will have to make an impression there in the preseason. Maybe we keep 7?

Don't forget Chukwurah. I have a feeling he should consider a permanant move to DE. His odds are better that way. Our second team linebackers could start on half the teams in the NFL. It's pretty crazy.

Have we found the next Keith Burns? He better make some noise on special teams in the preseason. That how he will make the roster.
