Yeah, he looked really great averaging 2.3 yards a carry against the Bears.

Larry is done. He is broke down and does not have an elite line to carry him.

Face it.

Is this a joke? Oakland held LJ to 1.8 yards a carry. KC's line is terrible and LJ is washed up.

If it comes from Bobo, it is.

Anyways, I dunno why Bobby boy is getting so excited over this. LJ was shut down in the first half and then the Falcons played the pass all 2nd half so LJ could finally get some yards. There was nothing dominating about LJ's performance unless you just look at that stat sheet, like Bob.

Even the baffoons over on CrapPlanet realize this. Bobo is really LJ's only supporter over there.

Also, this was LJ's first 100 yard game in something like 12 games. He's sure earning that contract.

Today, Larry Johnson ran for 18 yards on 10 carries. He also finished his 2nd straight season without 1000 yards rushing.

His decline continues.

Be afraid. Be very afraid. Larry is back and he is coming for you, Donkeys.

THE REHABILITATION OF LARRY JOHNSON

Just consider where the situation was with L.J. at the start of the year. He wanted out of town. He was facing a pair of assault charges. The NFL Players Association had a grievance filed against the Chiefs over guaranteed payouts from Johnson’s contract.

With Carl Peterson gone, Johnson did not have a friend in the organization. He’d even turned off the GM by the end of last season with his behavior. There was a new sheriff in town, and everyone, and I mean everyone figured L.J. was as good as gone.

But as the Chiefs headed off to vacation, Johnson is still part of the Chiefs. In fact, he’s likely going to be a very big part of the team’s offense in the coming season. I say likely because with L.J. things can never be said and then written into concrete. His history means anything is possible.

But it didn’t take Haley and his staff long to realize what they had when they saw a motivated and in shape Johnson run the ball during practices. Now, whether L.J. is ready to be a complete back (catching the ball and blocking as well) remains to be seen. During the OTAs, he ran some nice pass routes, getting away from coverage with his moves rather than his power.

We’ve talked about this before: Johnson knows the only place he’s going to make big money in the NFL is right here with the Chiefs. The team’s salary cap situation is such that they do not need to try and bring down his cap number this season.

L.J. is motivated, in shape and the next six weeks are critical. If he stays out of trouble, continues working to maintain his conditioning and gets through to the start of the regular season without injury, he’s headed for a big year.

Get ready for a faster, nastier LJ this year.

L.J.: “Hit Them Like A Bullet … Not A Tank” (http://www.bobgretz.com/chiefs-football/lj-hit-them-like-a-bullet-not-a-tank.html)

From River Falls, Wisconsin

After spending nearly 30 minutes signing autographs for fans at the Chiefs first training camp practice, a smiling Larry Johnson took some time to talk.

L.J. is slim and trim and says he’s in the best football shape of his life. Todd Haley asked him to lose some weight and it’s obvious Johnson followed through. He said he was 223 Saturday morning and figures he’ll be at 220 by the time camp is over. Over his career with the Chiefs, Johnson has played at 230 to 235 pounds.

“I’m going to hit them like a bullet with some speed and not a tank,” Johnson said. “I really feel good and I do feel faster.”

He certainly looks faster and showed that speed during the morning workout. In a goal-line drill, Johnson was forced to run outside and he was able to beat the defense to the corner of the end zone. “I don’t want to get caught from behind anymore,” Johnson said with a smile. Against the Broncos last year, L.J. had a 65-yard run where he was caught from behind before he got into the end zone.

It’s his torso and upper body where Johnson is slimmer and trimmer. From the waist down, he’s still got the big powerful legs. “Nothing I can do about those … they came from my Dad,” Johnson said with a laugh.

More on L.J. coming tomorrow morning from River Falls.

Larry looks good when he gets a hole. There are not many holes.

It'll pick up towards the end of the season like it always does. I'm confident he'll have a good year.

Not everyone can have Slowshown Moreno's line.

PS - Larry had a great game against the Raiders. If Florida Bronco had bothered to watch it instead of just reading a box score he'd know that. Ignorant mother****er, that one.

By normal standards? He sucked. He's sucked all season.

18 carries for 53 yards against the Giants.

21 carries for 37 yards against the Cowboys.

Season totals: 93 carries for 226 yards and no touchdowns. That's a whopping 2.4 yards per carry.

Really worth that money, isn't he Bobo? Why don't you come in here and defend this clown now?
