We were cleaning out my mother in law's shed, she has moved out and I get to clean up and haul off the junk, etc.

I found an old antique quart milk jug, it's glass and was made in 01/11/14..... hmmm...

Not sure who the maker was, it has an opening for a big cork on the neck. It's the kind that you got from the milkman and after using them up, he picked up the empty bottle and had them cleaned and refilled.

The markings on it are ..... REGISTERED SEALED 1-11-14 mTc ONE QUART LIQUID 1 MINE ( within a triangle )

Any bottle experts on here ? Anybody know where I can find some info about it or where to start searching ?

only thing I can offer is the milk is probably not good anymore so I would not drink it. Other than that, I don`t think it is a feature of training camp so you should find a board that gives a rip.

why would you care where some old bottle came from? It wont be worth much regardless. Do you have a guess as too how many milk bottle were made in 1914? I'd guess 100's of thousands in that year alone. Just stick it on a shelf and forget about tracing its orgins and talk some football.

I'm not sure what it's worth, but you might see if you can get it fingerprinted... it's the only way you'll ever find out who your old lady's father really is!!!

One thing I really like about antique millk bottles is the sound that they make when they are hurled at parked camaros. :clown:

If it has a mold mark, it may be worth a couple of bucks, but more likely it's worthless. If there's no mold mark, it could be worth quite a bit to a collector.

find some old woman and sell it. women love old crap. i can just see my mom using it as some damned vase and giving us all some friggin visna virus from mouse droppings.

bottomline, old stuff like that is crap. if its mass produced, theres no chance its worth anything.

i hate "antiques" that arent antique.
