I would like to trade down in drafting order. I'm looking for best offer.

FYI: I suck at FF - Why?
1. I haven't played in two years. Don't know what players are out there.
2. Last time I played injuries were more of a factor than players.
3. I have evil Internet. It comes, goes, and does whatever it want to. It's really really bad. It's like typing with your elbows.
4. (whine..whimper whimper) This draft site is tricker than Chinese math.
5. That all said I wanted to be the first one to publish my list of excuses so that when I come storming out of the cellar and stomping all your butts taking the league championship I can refer to seriously humble beginnings. Tell ESPN I'll be in my trailer. No intereviews. Where's my triple shot latte?

Philly Phuknuts on board. Picking number 11. It's better then picking 4-10. I'd rather be 1,2,3 or 12 though. 11 would be my fifth choice. I can live within my top 5 draft position priority.

Folks, we have an emergency situation with this weekend's draft as our software has been tested multiple times and we have some major problems with it.

Therefore, I am taking a precautionary measure and moving ALL OF OUR DRAFTS to CBS Sportsline just so we can do the draft without any major issues. (Note please, we are just moving the drafts, not the league itself)

More to come, but for now, if you do not have a www.sportsline.com id, please sign up for an account soon so that we can get you into the draft room.

Again, more to come soon. Stay tuned...

Maybe that's why the page won't open as I'm trying to open up the league's home page?

Send me the link for where we will be doing the draft and I'll try it tonight.

Greetings fellow Mane/Neck Pony - Maniax/Mile High Nation Leaguers.
Please read the following very carefully!!!

We have a serious problem with our league draft using our native myfantasyleague interface and rather than risk running into further complications using their intergrated draft room, we have decided to move our DRAFT ONLY, to www.sportsline.com for our 4 drafts. We will return to our myfantasyleague homepage AFTER the drafts are complete and we manually input the draft results.

What this translates is, that we need you all to do the following...

-Set up a user account at www.sportsline.com with your own name and email. (FYI -- if you already have a sportsline account, then you can use your current account rather than create a new one)

-Send us your email address that you use to log into your Sportsline account so that we can manually invite you to the draft.

-Redo your pre-draft picks and make sure the Sportsline.com's draft interface works with your computer. (We HIGHLY suggest using Internet Explorer for the draft)

After recieving your invitation, be sure to bookmark your respective league page for your draft.

Here is the link to each league's draft page. Remember, you wont be able to access them UNTIL we send you your invite, so be sure to set up your sportsline account and send us your email information ASAP.

If you have any questions or concerns, please message me as soon as possible so that we can assist you as quickly as possible. Thanks

Actually, scheduling was the real formation for most the leagues. However, the highest priority for draft dates went to those who spoke first and had seniority.

Look at it this way Donkeyshow, you'll be against some formidible opponents in Kaylore, Med, REB, CBF1 and co... that conference is gonna be really freaking competitive.

With the utmost respect to Pez, who works his tail off every year on this FFL thing, and who's also a damned entertaining poster, I cannot believe that MHS didn't win the OM award for best performance in an FFL thread.

phillybroncosnut
08-26-2006, 01:03 AM
There are ways of making it work....... Let's say you get a no from the commish. Just get together with a trading partner and come up with your own draft pick trades and draft the other owners player(s) in that spot and visa versa.

I would want to trade down too. I'm in the neckpony league and scored the #11 spot. I love it. 12 is better but 11 is close enough.

Rascal
08-26-2006, 01:13 AM
Wow...that was weird.

What I meant to say. Pez said he would allow them, but to make them work and not screw up the draft they need to have equal numbers. 2 for 2, 3 for 3, etc.

Pezman
08-26-2006, 01:25 AM
Or you can trade entire drafts too! The only thing we cant do is trade during the actual draft itself, due to the limitations of the software at Sportsline.

Ranking players for our draft is beneficial, but not necessary. However, if you saw the terrible order that Sportsline uses for their default order, you'd understand why its better to arrange the players manually

let me know,
You don't have to pre rank. I recommend you keep a couple players in your draft queue, though. You might get knocked offline for a round and come back to find the computer selected an injured/suspended/arrested/holdout/dead player for you.

lets say someone wants Shaun Alexander or LT or Payton? I think maybe up to three players for sure, something like a 1 a 3 and 4? or a 1 and 2 and 12 like you said?

how many points diff do you think between Alexander vs Fritz and lets say Rudi Johnson some one else

There used to be a great online trade chart that listed players values on a week to week basis. But for the life of me, I cant remember where it is anymore. But, valuewise, they say a high first round pick should always garner at least 1.25x their value in a trade because of their high demand and value.

So, in a draft like this year's, where a top three pick is highly coveted, what do you think is a solid offer?

Let's say, hypothetically, a team drafting #6 wanted to move up to #2.

Would a one (#6) and a two (#19) be worth a one (#2) and a 12 (#134)?

That would give the team who traded down picks #6, #19 and #23 along with their own #25 pick in round three. You could build a pretty sweet team with four picks in the top 25.

Meanwhile, the team who trades up gets to build around LJ, LT or Shaun, but then they don't pick again until their own #30 pick in round three.

thats the thing i've always liked diggin for players in the later rounds that can sometimes outperform 1s and if you get two for one you've really scored. thee possibilities can be endless esp. when you add another team in the mix.

thats the whole thing I hate players or leagues in which there is no action, just dumb ass lopsided deals being offered.

being that you never know who is gonna break out or have a down year, forces you to be creative.

We all have our own thoughts on who will have good and bad years, I mean if I think some one in the top3 will not be a top3 at the end of the year and someone wants that player then im willing to draft that player and pick up two players one a most likely sure thing and the other a player later in the rounds which is comming up.

Top #3 picks practically have their own category as for trade values this year because their output is nearly 50-100 points over their nearest projected picks (Portis, Edge etc) in most leagues. Their value is worth nearly a #1 AND #3 for most. The problem is, the team that drafts in those #1-3 spots will get much lower value in that second round.

Personally, if I had a #1-3 pick, the lowest offer I would listen to would be my #1 and #3 for their #1,2 AND 4.

labronx
08-26-2006, 02:22 AM
that is the risk than can make or break your team, you hardly win if you dont make moves.

i dont like riding players all year just cuzz i picked them first one injury and bad season or the team just not playing well can really kill you.

I think this year has many question marks at the top, even the good ones arent all that this year, this year more than others.

Ironically enough, I dont trade very often in most of my leagues, as I try to shore up my teams via free agency and waivers. Finding people to trade with can be a challenge too, especially since most try to undervalue your guys, while overvaluing theirs...

I haven't paid much attention this year...I'll probably sit down tomorrow and get all the updated depth charts, and rank my players off of that.

This year is really looking like it will be difficult to rank players though as it seems that the last few years and clearly delineated super studs.

You could make the argument that Tiki Barber should go #1 since his is the only team without a lot of changes in the offense.

Larry Johnson:

--Will get more carries, but will he be as effective minus Roaf and Welbourne, Waters and and Shields all injured or retired? Plus you add Herman Edwards patented ability to f@ck a team up.

Ladainian Tomlinson:

--Super Stud who is best all around back. However, the offensive line is having issues since Hudson Houck went to Miami. (Underated offseason loss last year) Philip Rivers is making his debut so you think he'll get plenty of action, but he faded in the second half of the season last year and you think he might again this year.

-- Shaun Alexander:

--Touchdown machine, and is sitting behind one of the best lines in the game. The problem? He ran to the left 75% of the time last year including 83% in the red zone. His all world OLG is gone and is being replaced by a man known as "porkchop". The question all want to know,

"Will Porkchop help bring home the bacon."

and finally,

--Tiki Barber:

--Most yards from scrimmage last year, collected 14 total TD and is playing behind an offense that expects to get better since Eli is maturing. The only problem with Tiki is his low TD totals compared to the above, however, there is no garantuee that the aformentioned above players will be up to standards.

The WR rankings are even screwier this year with the inability to really get a feel for the top.

-Chad Johnson -- Should be a superstud as usual but you aren't sure how well Palmer will play, and do you really want Chad Johnson to be catching passes from Anthony Wright?

-Terrel Owens -- WTF?

-Randy Moss -- See Aaron Brooks for why this is a problem.

-Anquan Boldin or Larry Fitzgerald -- This applies to both. You aren't sure that they will replicate their numbers from last year, plus you don't know if Warner will be replaced by Leinart or whether Edge will actually get the rushing game going with a lack luster line.

Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne

-Is this the year that Wayne passes Harrison for #1 on the depth chart? Do you really want to make that bet? Do you dare? Is Marvin slowing down, and where does Stokley fit in? Plus you throw a rookie RB out there to pass block and you start to wonder if they are going be as good as last year.

-Javon Walker

--Really where does he stand? Is he fully healed, and if so, will Jake even look his way? How will Scheffler effect this?

There are a crap load of teams with #1 receivers that you aren't going to be drafting in the top stanzas.

San Francisco
Atlanta (lol lelie..you got what you wanted)
Jacksonville
Chicago
Minnesota
Green Bay
Kansas City
Philly
New York Jets
Tennesse

Basically this year is a cluster in trying to rank teams and players....ick

You don't have to pre rank. I recommend you keep a couple players in your draft queue, though. You might get knocked offline for a round and come back to find the computer selected an injured/suspended/arrested/holdout/dead player for you.

Or a kicker....9 times in a row. Ha!

They're not that bad. It's easy enough to move players around if you want to although I see no need to considering how many players are in view on the draft room page.

heh,

thats what I did last year. took a bunch of RB's and played the waiver wire with my WR's....well except for galloway, and Chris cooley. I'd like to have my lineup back from last year....with Palmer, Cooley, and LJ plus another 5 RB's.

Name dropping... the penultimate violation of the fantasy football world during drafts.

Namedropping is when owners talk about players that are still available UNTIL the whole draft is complete.

You aren't allowed to name drop. You can't say something along the lines of "I can't beleive Tatum Bell hasn't been picked yet". Keep those thoughts to yourself.

Ok, divisions have been aligned to reflect the draft order. Be sure to check your new competition in your respective conference.

(Based on the *1,4,7,10 // 2,5,8,11 // 3,6,9,12 seeds)

Also, schedules will be out after the drafts are complete. Remember, no doubleheaders this season, and you will play your division foes only once!

Yes, that's a very good idea, STG... and I usually print out a "cheat sheet" prior to a draft as well and mark off names as each selection is made. That way you have a general idea of who's left on the board at any given time.

Well, based on previous drafts... you can expect it to take between 2-3 hours est.

Yesterday's drafts had difference circumstances due to glitches, but the afternoon draft took 2 hours 10 minutes, and the evening draft took 2 hours 40 minutes.

Last year, we had one draft finish in 1 hour 35 minutes! So it can really vary quite a bit.

I had trouble keeping with what was there, what was gone and finding my way around the site. I did some kind of resort and my draft got ganked PEZMAN does an excellent job running the draft. A custom league will allow them options to keep thing gone, move things along and when you're talking smack you have some idea who you are talking smack to.

I'll post up my adjusted roster. Need a trade for a RB! Need access to the pile to see if there are any undrafted crap that is still in the league. Anybody want to trade for Curtis Martin? (Autodraft is a tool of the devil!)

I made a couple of huge draft mistakes but overall am VERY lucky to have this team as in good of shape as it is. I didn't have my drafting tools, didn't use this drafting vehicle smartly, got ganked, and went blind for half the draft. It was a typical draft all things considered. I feel lucky to be a part of this league to be honest. Glad to be here!

I can recover with a smart trade but I don't have enough firepower to finish even if I made the playoffs. I am essentially in this with (1) Running back. Any offers?

QUESTION for those who must not be questioned ...

1. What determines the order for free agent pickups when that starts?

2. Will there be any way to que up the requested FA transactions before the starting gun sounds, or is this going to be some sort of first-come first-served deal with people stumbling all over each other?

In all of the leagues I've been in, free agency was first come, first served. However, the waiver wire process is generally determined by the order of the draft. The person who had the first pick is last in waiver wire priority and the last pick has top priority. In most leagues, players who are not drafted are automatically placed into the waiver pool for a certain period of time (usually 1-3 days). During this time, any team can put a claim in for a player and the person with the highest waiver priority who put in the claim during that period gets the player. Once a waiver claim is successful, that individual's waiver priority is dropped to the bottom of the list. So, if the person with top waiver priority puts in a claim for several players, and others put in claims for the same players, the top priority only applies to the first claim placed.

In some leagues, waiver priority is never reset, while in others, waiver priority is determined weekly depending on wins/losses and standings.

QUESTION for those who must not be questioned ...

1. What determines the order for free agent pickups when that starts?

2. Will there be any way to que up the requested FA transactions before the starting gun sounds, or is this going to be some sort of first-come first-served deal with people stumbling all over each other?

1. Free agency, starting Wednesday, August 30th at 11pm EST, will be a one time, first come, first served basis that will lock down before the first NFL regular season game

2. By the looks of the league software, I dont think you will be able to queue up your picks so it will be a free-for-all. Sorry bout that!

Wal-Mart blitz!

I'm going to stock pile on potential 4th string running backs, disgruntled wide recievers and injured players that I just "have a feeling" are going to have a breakout season! WOOO! HOOO!

I feel I drafted pretty well. May have made a big blunder taking Edge with #8 instead of Ronnie Brown. I planned all along to pass on Edge and go with Ronnie... ask Jack!, but then changed my mind during the draft. Hope it doesn't back fire. That's the only move I really question. Anyhow, here's the team. Read em & WEEP!

QB's
Hass
McNair
RB's
Edge
Fred Taylor

Morency
WR's

I was shocked to see you pass on him. I still can't believe it, but I'm thrilled that you did.

Oskie's mom. She's 6'3" and weighs 240, and is a hoss to bring down. Why Oskie is only 5'4", weighs 120, and a pansy ass is still a mystery.

Cool, I just found out both Mannings retired so thats good to know before the draft.

My guess its between, Jordan, Johnson, Brown, Williams, and Portis, so Im looking to go TE or K.

Hey pez I hope you didn't have to pay to use that crappy CBS draft site. Good lord that was horrible. You should demand a refund after that debacle.

Hey, she runs a 4.39 40 and throws 225 up like 35 times... what's not to like?

There once was a genie with a 12 foot wenie who went to the neighbor next door. She thought it was a snake, and hit it with a rake, and now it's only 5'4''!!!

that may of been bad, but that was good compared to the website's own draft software
