Browns hammy popped. Who knows how bad but this could make Eagles jump back in for Lelie.

I had tried to get thru to Eagle HQ for confirmation but the line was busy. Wonder who was tying up the line. Ha! I can't believe that Philly wouldn't be interested, even before this injury. An early 3rd would be good enough for me at this point.

Pinky and Bambi...a deadly, physical combination.

that means our trade value for lelie has gone skyrocketed because eagles would be so desperate for a WR ;)

A hammy isn't a panic injury. There will be a couple more that go ACL or something more serious.

Nobody from the Eagles squad that I really want. I'd like to see about a trade with either the Jags, Niners, or Bears. Only players I'd want... Fred Taylor (Lelie and give up a mid round pick), Barlow (Lelie and receive a late pick), or Thomas Jones (Lelie and Tatum or 2nd or 3rd round pick).

I'm happy with Scheff and Alexander at TE. Nate Jackson is also available. I'm happy with what we have.

Man, if we get anyone from the Jags it better be Greg Jones. Barlow sole accomplishment in the league is getting his ass kicked by his FB in the locker room.

Lelie and Bell for Westbrook would be a raping of Washington Redskins proportions, and we wouldn't come out on the winning end of this one.

Sorry man, but that's just a stupid suggestion.

LAndis is totally clean, the guy was very impressive on Larry King yesterday and his doctor was there as well explaining how they have continuallly lowered the allowable ratio of testosterone to epitestostore in recent years ( in the days of East German doping those guys had ratios of 100-1!) from 15-1 then to 10 to 1, then down to 6 to 1 and now lowered late this Spring to a ridiculous 4 to 1, which not only can be in the realm of normal variables in the body, but is too tight a ratio to be reliably replicated in the 25 year old antiquated test they used on Landis's A sample.

Plus both Landis doctor and another top expert doctor on the US anti-doping committee said something is really fishy here, as no one in their right mind would use Testosterone for cycling in any event, as it would more than likely have an adverse effect not a benefit. And certainly NEVER would do it during a race when it would have no effect at all for Pete's sake!

You'd have to take it for at least three weeks straight to have any performace enhancnement at all, and he was tested 8 times in the three weeks leading up to the suspect test after stage 17, and twice afterwards, including after the last time trial and at the end of the Tour, and ALL those came back clean which is TOTALLY nonsensical! Testosterone levels don't leave the body that quickly.

Furthermore, he didnt have elevated serum testoserone it was within high/normal values, but his 'EPI-testoseteone' was unusually low, which threw the ratio off increasing the spread just beyond the newly tightened (and overly so) range of accepted values.

The whole thing is a TOTAL sham! Lance Amstrong came on Larry King saying he is highly suspicious of this same Lab that did the test as it was the same French lab that F**ked up his 1999 test and then accused him of cheating in 1999, only after winning his 7th Tour last year, and in spite of Lance passing over 150 piss tests from 1998 through 2005!

Lance said that lab would not confirm their chain of evidence to anyone after they got their teeth kicked in a couple months ago and had to apologize for the accusation, and were very shady and now they just happen to accuse the OTHER US Tour winner the very next year and no one else in the whole race!!

Give me a break!

Either the B sample clears Landis or the whole thing is tampered with and we should drop a a giant stink bomb on Paris (just kidding :-).

But seriously, this accusation is so far-fetched and fails the crediblity test on so many levels, that if they come up with another shady sample ( as they probably will to try and save face) and wind up stripping this poor kid of his well-earned victory before he undergoes a hip replacement, we should boycott all future Tours de France and ban every French athelete from competing in the US in any sport ... permanently! ( Bye Bye Tony Parker :-)

Westbrook has never topped 850 yards rushing in a single season.

Explain to me how trading a 2nd round pick in Tatum ball (who rushed for over 900 yards as a backup) and a 1st round pick at WR (who has led the NFL in YPC for 2 seasons now) for less production is anything short of stupid.

If Dom Davis is a poor man's Faulk, then Westbrook is a poor man's Dom Davis. Guy is a great third down back but as a 20 carry guy he is awful.

That's arguable at best.

Mike Anderson ran for almost 1500 yards as a rookie and was a consistent producer as a running back both before and after being moved to fullback. Westbrook has not been that productive at all, and we have a player on our roster (Tatum Bell) who had better production as a backup.

Again, trading Lelie and Bell for Westbrook is S-T-U-P-I-D.

Listen, I live in Philadelphia and listen to the local sports radio here all the time.
You have got to be Bat Sh*t CRAZY if you think the Eagles will give up Brian Westbrook for Lillyflower AND Bell, let alone one.
They love him here. The SuperBowl year,, everyone on the team voted Westbrook as the MVP of the team.
Westbrook does so many things. He's fast/ has hands like a WR/Runs well/ and can block.
His downfall is he cant pick up the tough yards.
I know people here that would give you McNabb before Westbrook.
And the reason he dosent get 1,000 yards is because The Eagles rarely run the ball.
Their running game is the short/ screen pass.

Crushaholic
07-29-2006, 04:17 PM
I agree with Alec. There's nobody on the Eagles that I want to be a Bronco. It's simple. Lelie is in a contract year, so the Broncos hold ALL the cards. If Lelie wants to be deactivated and risk the big payday next year, that's his choice. If we trade Lelie, it better be a pretty good trade. We have guys on our team that can do what Westbrook does.

Ballhawk
07-29-2006, 04:19 PM
Their running game is the short/ screen pass.

Because that is what Westbrook does best. Not a knock on the guy, but we need a running back that can tote the ball 25 times and Brian just does not have the ability to do that effectively. Here in Denver our Running game is running the ball.

Florida_Bronco
07-29-2006, 04:19 PM
LOL oh well
Seriously man, you need to check yourself here.

You're just over a month younger than I am, but if you come in here and use decent punctuation/spelling/grammar then you should be fine. You are a Broncos fan and we can all appreciate that, and we'll welcome you with open arms if you don't act like an annoying asshat all the time.

Now that being said, trading Bell for Westbrook is a bad idea. We have a more productive running back already on our roster. I like Westbrook, I think he's a good player, but we would be taking a step back with him.

I understand you want us to win, but think about what you are saying. The trade you are suggesting would send a fairly productive 1st round WR and a productive 2nd round running back to Philly for a running back that isn't as productive as the one we traded him for.

Do you understand why we're are saying this is a bad idea?

(Jae)
07-29-2006, 04:19 PM
We have guys on our team that can do what Westbrook does.

No RB on our team has hands like Westbrook, and only Tatum rivals his "Field Quickness".

Oh, I agree 100%, he couldnt handle the load here.
He's not that type of runner.
He's to be used like Marshall Faulk with the Rams
