This is to satisfy Rascal.

Today at training camp, the grass is real green. It's looking trim, and lush and ready to handle the work load. There are a couple of thin patches, but nothing to worry about at this time. Of some concern are a couple of yellowish patches that look like they could use more water. Hydration has become a huge issue over the years, and this season will be no different. Expect to see the grouds crew taking care of that problem, and maintain it with regularity.

All in all, a good day for the field.

Solid. I'll actually include a turf report from no on just for Rascal. I didn't know such knowledge was so criticaly important. I will say that I fully anticipate the lawn to take some serious wear and tear, and that the grounds crew will be earning their paychecks. I this the year they go all the way? Only time will tell...

Just wanted to thank all those who keep us out-of-towners updated on all things broncos from training camp and otherwise. Your write ups are a huge reason to frequent these boards for those of us jonesing for a quality football fix. Good luck on the reporting boys and keep those posts flowing.

I think Fred is pacing down the sidelines in anticpation of yelling at kids tomorrow! (BACK UP!!!)

BTW...Conklin and his girlfriend have arrived safely at the bus shop. First thing out of his mouth was "ugh that drive sucked".

The I-70 corridor between here and Missouri just flat out sucks. There is no other word for it.

Yeah, Fred was practicing and Orphanage today. He made the Children have to see counciling specialists, so he's totally ready.

Hey, you want me to bring something for food tomorrow?

Some news per DPO.

DPO Camp-Report Day Afternoon Update
<HR style="COLOR: #132556" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Players report to camp
Cutler, Lelie yet to show; Sauerbrun loses appeal
By Bill Williamson
Denver Post Staff Writer

The Broncos filed into Dove Valley today in preparation for a 4:30 p.m. mandatory team meeting which kicks off the 2006 training camp.

As that time approached two Broncos were in danger of missing the meeting: quarterback Jay Cutler, the team's first-round draft pick, and disgruntled receiver Ashley Lelie. It appears Cutler has a much better chance of joining the Broncos soon. The Broncos and Cutler's agent, Bus Cook, continued negotiations Thursday afternoon. Denver coach Mike Shanahan said he is hopeful Cutler will sign in time to join Denver's first camp practice, Friday at 8:30 a.m.

Denver's other six draft choices have signed. They include second-round pick Tony Scheffler (tight end), fourth-round pick Domenik Hixon (receiver) and fifth-round pick Chris Kuper (guard).

Lelie is expected to miss the start of training camp as his quest to be traded continues.

"I'd be shocked if he came in," said Denver receiver Rod Smith, who recently spoke with Lelie.

Meanwhile, Todd Sauerbrun lost his appeal with the NFL and will serve a four-game suspension at the start of the regular season because of a positive test for ephedra. Sauerbrun said he was "disgusted" with himself over the suspension.

Sure...I'm bringing a big gatorade bucket full of ice water. We're going to need it, cold beers (we're going to need that also). I have burgers, buns, brats, all the condiments. Oh and a big bucket of Orange Cheeto balls-Standard requirement for a bus gathering.

I think Ben No1Broncosfan is bringing some chips and maybe soda. So whatever you would like to add is up to you.

Thanks for the info Ludo, I wonder if Rod gave Lelie some shizat. Also, it's good to see Sauerbrun contrite. Hopefully he'll come back and crush the ball week 5.
