Chiefs agree with first-rounder Hali
The Kansas City Chiefs have reached agreement with first-round draft choice Tamba Hali, the standout defensive end from Penn State, on a five-year contract, ESPN.com has learned. Financial details of the deal were not immediately available.
The 20th overall choice in the draft, Hali has expected to play an important role as the Chiefs implement a cover two scheme under new coach Herm Edwards.
Hali played in 47 games at Penn State, and started 34 of them, registering 179 tackles, including 36 tackles for losses. He had 14 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one interception.
A native of Liberia, Hali is noted for his big motor and intensity, along with his big-play skills. Some teams dropped him on their draft boards because of what they felt were slow 40-yard times, but the Chiefs had no such concerns.

Am I missing something?
P.S. The 2003 and 2004 national champions hailed from the Pac-10, and Oregon got screwed out of a BCS berth in 2005. Damn that east coast bias...

The same was said for Sims and Saivii. I'll reserve judgement until I see the boy play. Until then, he sucks in my book. :wiggle:

Texas 2005
USC 2004
LSU 2003
Those are the last 3 BCS Champs, I believe. The best football is played in the ACC, SEC, and Big Ten....all those other conferences...well...they do try.

Oh yeah...I'm a dumbass...from some reason I thought he played for Oregon...even after I read 2 seconds earlier that he went to pen state....who was the lineman from OU that was drafted early?

Wasn't 2003 the co-title year with USC and LSU?
And yes, Leaf the Younger soiled Oregon's legitimacy a bit with that last-minute interception in field goal range. Too bad.

You know, for KC being half nestled in the "Show Me" state, there sure is a lot Bob slobbin going on over this guy.

No...there is only one BCS National Champ...that's why number 1 and 2 play each other in the Championship game. You are refering to the AP nation champ...which means absolutely nothing. While the BCS is far from perfect...at least some measure of it is decided on a football field.

West coast college football sucks. If the USC Trojans had to play in the SEC, I guarantee you they would not have two national championships. No way they could go undefeated playing quality opponents week in and week out. Its easy to get up for Notre Dame because the next week you play Oregon State. They don't have to consistently maintain the level of intensity to go undefeated in that conference.
PAC-10 is a joke.

That is true. I think the SEC is the hardest to win in. Auburn got screwed in Ronnie Brown and Cadillac's final season. That was a damn good football team.

If you are going to say that, then 2004 was another co-title year with USC and Auburn.

Yeah I would too as well. Even though anyone in the Big12 North isnt really worth a **** anymore compared to the Big12South. In football that is.

How you feel about your boy today. Carl is a genius. Roaf sent them a letter a week ago telling them he planned to retire, Chiefs keep it under wraps untill after season tickets go on sale. Gotta keep the stadium full by giving them just enough hope every year.

Eh, if you wanted season tickets you had to start payments loooong before this. Some single game tickets go on sale July 31st...
So...
Ya.
