I was watching the NFL network yesterday and they had a draft expert on. (his name doesnt come to mind right now) He had Troy Smith in his top 5 Qbs and said he could be a 1st or 2nd round pick next year. He says Troy Smith will play Qb in the NFL and thinks he will be very successful. Said he played at his best against the top competition, and the only downside was his size.

if alex smith is viewed as a QB, i see them as very similar players in that regard although i think troy could be the better player, he could play in an offense like ours where hed be rolled out plenty. kubes next QB?

5 years ago I would have told you that Smith would not make it into the NFL as a QB, not really sure what postion he would have made it as, but now I do think a team would take the chance and let him play QB, he has progressed every year he has started, I originally wanted Zwick to start because he was more of the classic drop back passer I still had a bad taste in my mouth from the scrambler Bellisari "Bella-sorry", and even though he won alot of games Krenzel wasn't a dropback guy either. Smith's ability has help Tressel and Bollman to open up the O. It's strange watching the game because they are ultra conservitive most of the game then all out in other parts, no in-between or all out attack. If Smith wins a Heisman he could be a late 1st if not I see him as a 2nd rounder (Bears maybe a good fit??)

Troy Smith will play QB in the NFL and might be a 1st round pick, but I'm going with anywhere from 2nd-4th round depending on how he does this year and his combine numbers.

Troy Smith's style and talent will fit in the NFL. He will be drafted in the first 2 rounds. He is a little on the short side, but not enough to deter teams. He is a heck of an athlete that can make things happen when a play breaks down or beat you in the pocket. I like his arm strength and his accuracy is fine. Lastly, Smith has 'it' whatever 'it' is.
I am a Michigan fan and have seen him kick Michigan's ass in person the last few years. I will be down at the Shoe to witness another probable ass kicking in November.
