It sucks and its more far reaching than just online poker.

Believe me I know. I already contacted Mike Castle and stated my beliefs.
You know what? I've voted Republican for many years now but I will never do it again. I'm now off my fence when it comes to Republican or Libertarian. It's Libertarian all the way! Enough is enough!
I don't know if anyone watched any of it but I was actually surprised. I'm so pissed with the Republican party. Ya know what? You better start getting back to State's right's, Personal freedom and low spending. I'm dissapointed. Very dissapointed.so bye bye

How about getting a canadian credit card? would that work? also, places like party poker make it where u buy a phone card then use it to get access to the poker. I am wondering if the tv poker shows will tell the viewers if they got into the tourney by satellite internet gambling site. CRIMINALS!

if you need to move to vegas for gambling purposes, you might have a major problem here. Unless you are good enough to do it as a living, i suggest you stay away and just visit vegas.

might actually have a couple business oportunities there...gaming would just be the icing on the cake.
Well if it was to become law I would simply go by way of Firepay or Netteller for transferring funds. Luckily I haven't needed to redeposit for some time now.

Online Poker Would Generate $3 Billion Annually if Taxed
Study Commissioned by Poker Players Alliance Released This Week
A study commissioned by the Poker Players Alliance shows that online poker would generate more than $3 billion in federal and state tax revenue a year if online poker were regulated and taxed.
The study, prepared by Judy Xanthopoulos, an economist with Quantria Strategies, examined the existing Internet poker market and concludes that the U.S. government would collect a significant potential source of revenue if it were to incorporate this industry into the U.S. economy.
“This study validates that the benefits of regulating online poker in the United States far exceed the value of prohibiting the activity,” said Michael Bolcerek, president of the Poker Players Alliance. “Internet poker is an incredibly popular pastime for millions of Americans. Keeping Americans away from this game is not only unfair but, as this study shows, would be costly, denying state and federal coffers an important source of revenues.”
The Poker Players Alliance analysis, which only looks at the impact of regulation and taxation of Internet poker, supports the bipartisan effort in Congress to create a federal commission to examine all online gaming and determine how best it can be regulated within this country.
The U.S. House of Representatives yesterday passed a bill that is designed to stop the flow of money to online sites by making it illegal for banks and credit card companies to work with gambling sites. Click here for yesterday’s article on the issue and here for an analysis.
“Our organization enthusiastically supports regulation and taxation, rather than an outright ban,” Bolcerek said. “We remain hopeful that opponents of Internet poker will come to the realization that prohibitions don’t work and will embrace the idea of creating a regulated environment so that Americans can have an even higher level of comfort when playing poker online.”
Internet gambling is now regulated in over 80 countries and jurisdictions. The United Kingdom passed legislation in 2005 to regulate and tax Internet gambling.
The Poker Players Alliance can be found at pokerplayersalliance.org. It’s a nonprofit organization advocating on behalf of American poker players.

That's the thing though. They are trying to block you from being able to use credit cards, and your bank account. Hell, they are trying to block you from being able to access the site itself.

They'll get around this. I heard that some sites are considering using prepaid telephone cards to load the account.

Yea, but you know what this govt. never seems to figure out except when it came to alcohol? That prohibition never works. If people want something bad enough they'll find away to get it...eg, marijuana etc...
And in this case those who want to play poker bad enough will find away to get around it and they will simply lose out on the tax dollars that it could generate. LP.org
And BTW Welcome aboard BP :welcome:
