Get Wild with Cindy Garrison presented by Kawasaki airs each Hunt Sunday July though December 2006 at 8:30 & 10:30 a.m. ET.

This week on Get Wild with Cindy Garrison
Sunday July 9, 2006

8:30 a.m. — Cindy braves her way through a wild fire set by local Aborigines to stalk one of Australia's most elusive game...the banteng. She then returns the favor in Africa by helping start fires in the Tanzanian bush.

10:30 a.m. — Cindy goes crocodile hunting in western Tanzania and discovers that man-eaters inhabit the Malagarasi River. She also travels to panama to lasso a 12-foot crocodile to release back into the wild and then explores those same croc-infested waters at night on a spot lit stalk, catching spotted caiman with her bare hands!

About Get Wild with Cindy Garrison

This fall, ESPN launches a new series that will change the face of Outdoors television! Hosted by a blonde-haired bombshell who looks more at home on the cover of a Harlequin romance novel or browsing the storefronts of Rodeo Drive than she does bashing through the backcountry, Cindy Garrison explores the most dangerous and extreme outdoors settings found anywhere in the world!

Whether on the hunt for exotic fish species or in pursuit of elusive and dangerous game, the show chronicles Cindy's discovery of hidden cultural delicacies as she pushes the limits of dangerous encounters. Along her journey, Cindy hunts it, catches it, eats it and discovers it all … bringing her own blend of enthusiasm and compassion to each unbelievable WILD experience!

Within each exotic adventure, Cindy gets up close and personal, resorting to the most extreme and primal survival tactics to uncover what most of us could only imagine! With screaming excitement, hair-raising adventure and silent alarm, no destination is too remote and wild, no situation too dangerous or extreme, no activity too wild and crazy to keep Cindy from catching the predators that lurk in the waters below … and on the remote corners of land.

Add to that, the experiences of exploring indigenous cultures and eating exotic delicacies like bugs, spiders and snakes, as well as trying natural herbal remedies, and you have a riveting documentary of an unbelievable journey!

I tried watching a little of it... its stupid. Really stupid. There's just something wrong about sending some blond out to kill things and then pretend that she's some kind of ambassador of good will for indigenous peoples.

Its really annoying.

What's wrong, you don't hunt or fish? You do know that hunters and fisherman do more for wildlife than any other group of people?

I do fish, I do have a hunting rifle, but I have not yet gone hunting with it. Although I'd like to.

I just think its a stupid show.

And yes, I agree that hunters and fishermen do more for wildlife than most people know or realize.

I think if you hunt you can appreciate what she's doing a little more. I've watched a lot of her shows and she does get bruised and cut up sometimes. The different locals and around the world makes it worth seeing alone for me but she adds another pleasurable viewing element :)

Dude, its television.

She's not impressing me just because she's a blond bombshell.

Not only does she have the best guides money can buy. She's got a whole crew following her around with cameras. So, its not just her out there roughing it. Its her, three or four guides who know all the ways of the indigenous peoples, and the production crew which is probably 3-4 MORE guys at any one time.

So, its Cindy and a bunch of other shmucks following her around.

But it is TV.

But it is TV. This is why I said IF you actually big game hunted you could appreciate it a little more. Tred Barta has a film crew following him around too but I guarantee you that you couldn't come close to doing what he does.

She lives outdoors, eats, drinks and sleeps it. Most men (and women) sit on their asses on the couch most of their lives.

How much money does it take to be a big game hunter?

It does take skill (Barta) but it mostly takes money (Garrison). Don't kid yourself.

She looks like Loni Anderson if someone were to morph her mouth with J.J. Walker's. If this is what she does to get out of the kitchen, good for her.

Dude, you beat me to it. She looks positively demonic in that picture. You can tell the smaller child can literally sense the evil rippling off of her. He seems to be considering whether he should attempt to drive that toy spear they gave him through her eye socket and save his village.

Show me Wade Boggs getting stomped to death by a hippo and then his gory remains shat upon. That I would tune in for and Tivo for posterity.

Someone has to say it.....

I'd hit it :)

Only way I would be impressed with a hunter is if he/she went hand to hoof with a creature. Using a rifle is pure chicken $hit... Aim, pull trigger, animal goes to sleep....real sport.

You've clearly never hunted. It's amazing how ignorant people are on how hard it is to hunt. Like you can just get on a four wheeler and burn through the forrest with a rifle in one hand and shooting down ten elk in fifteen minutes.

Those kids look scared. The next shot was probably of them running away, and her hunting them down.

Nope, it was of her running 10.8 hundred. If her parents would have encouraged her to run when she was younger she would have been in your class (world's best athlete).
