Glenn (Greenville SC): Enough specualting! I want to know where the Chad Ford "Crystal Ball" is saying Allen Iverson will play next season. (Your best guess will be sufficient)!
Chad Ford: (12:29 PM ET )In other words, you WANT me to speculate? I would watch Denver carefully. I think they're motivated to add AI and with the signing of Nene, can move one of their bigs -- either Camby or Kenyon Martin. They'd prefer Martin, but Camby has much more value. They'll probably need a three way deal to get it done, but I think it will be Denver or Boston that finds a way to get him.
If you guys land Allen Iverson for Andre Miller and Marcus "if the wind blows my back goes out" Camby, I am going on a three state killing spree.

If they trade Miller and Camby for Iverson, I will puke. Camby is essential to the teams up tempo play, and without Miller, who plays the point - Earl? Boykins is great off the bench and a very valuable player, but he is not a starter and Iverson is not a PG. Plus, if you play the two of them at the same time, they will have to stand on each others shoulders just to guard someone. I would love to have Iverson, but if Martin doesn't leave and we don't get a PG in return, its a dumb deal.

I'll tell you right now, if you turned down a deal of Miller and Camby for Iverson you are nuts.
Melo, Iverson, the 60 million dollar man Nene, K-Mart, and who shot JHodges can do some damage in this league.
And think about, Camby is only good for a about 30 games a year anyway. In essense you would be trading Andre Miller for Allen Iverson. WOW. This cannot happen.

What are you watching? Clearly you don't watch many Nuggets games. It is no coincidence that the two years Marcus played a ton, they had Nene in the line up to be the bully. Marcus can't handle the power centers, but he is the best at rebounding, and blocking shots. Marcus is the glue for the Nuggets.
You can't have Iverson play the point. Don't get me wrong, having him would be great, but we need a PG.

Iverson Arrested On Gun Charges
http://espn.go.com/nba/news/2002/0711/1404559.html
PHILADELPHIA -- Allen Iverson will be charged with assault and other offenses for forcing his way into an apartment with a gun and threatening two men while looking for his wife, authorities said Thursday.
The Charges

-- Associated Press
The NBA All-Star, no stranger to trouble on and off the court, will be allowed to surrender to police Tuesday morning after his lawyer returns from vacation, police Commissioner Sylvester Johnson said. Iverson must remain inside his suburban Philadelphia mansion until then.
"If Iverson is seen on the street or out partying, we will arrest him,'' Johnson said.
A police spokesman said Friday that police will not be keeping watch on Iverson's mansion, and that police are tightening up the investigation, talking to potential witnesses, and "waiting for Mr. Iverson to turn himself in."
Iverson and an uncle are accused of barging into a cousin's apartment on the morning of July 3 as the Philadelphia 76ers' guard searched for his wife, Tawanna. Iverson allegedly had thrown her out of their house naked during a dispute, according to tapes of a 911 call obtained by The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Earlier Thursday, police impounded Iverson's Mercedes 600 and took it to a police facility where it is being searched for more evidence, including fingerprints, ESPN's Sal Poalantonio reports.
Iverson will be charged with criminal trespass, simple assault, terroristic threats and gun offenses, District Attorney Lynne Abraham said. Four of the counts are felonies, and Iverson faces up to 54 years in prison if convicted of all the charges.
Iverson's uncle, Gregory Iverson, was also charged with criminal trespass, simple assault, terroristic threats and other offenses.
"We had two complaints we felt were credible. Detectives did a very thorough, complete and professional investigation,'' Johnson said.
Sixers coach Larry Brown and general manager Billy King said they will support Iverson through the legal process.
Brown, who spoke to Iverson on Thursday, said his star player is "hurting.''
"I'm hopeful this thing gets resolved and this kid can move on with his life,'' Brown said. "He's part of our family and will always be a part of our family.''
Iverson didn't find his wife and cousin Shaun Bowman when he went with his uncle to the Cobbs Creek Court apartment complex, authorities said.
Bowman's roommate, Charles Jones, told police the men forced their way into the apartment and demanded to know the whereabouts of Tawanna and Bowman, according to a police affidavit. A friend of Jones also was in the apartment.
Iverson, a three-time All-Star and former league MVP, "continuously threatened harm to the complainants and wanted Charles to make numerous phone calls to locate Tawanna and Shaun,'' court documents said.
Iverson also "showed the complainants a black handgun'' that had been tucked into his waistband, according to the documents. Iverson has no gun permit nor does he have a gun registered in Pennsylvania, police said.
Iverson and his uncle eventually left the apartment and drove to a motel where Tawanna had rented two rooms, police said. After hotel officials failed to reach her, Iverson and his uncle began circling the parking lot looking for her white SUV.
Police confronted the men and Iverson said he was looking for his wife, court documents said.
Iverson and his wife have not commented publicly. The two married in August, two months after Iverson led the Sixers to the NBA Finals for the first time in 18 years.
Iverson's dazzling play has made him one of the most popular NBA players, and his Sixers jersey is the league's top seller. But he's also been in trouble with his team and the NBA, squabbling with his coach and making a rap CD in 2000 that used terms for women and gays that drew harsh criticism.
The charges in the gun case are just his latest problems with the law.
As a teenager, he was arrested in a Hampton, Va., bowling alley brawl in 1993 and spent four months in prison before then-Gov. Douglas Wilder granted clemency. The conviction was overturned on appeal in 1995.
In 1997, Iverson pleaded no contest to a gun charge after police near Richmond, Va., stopped a car in which he was a passenger and found a gun belonging to Iverson and two marijuana cigarettes. A marijuana-possession charge was dropped.
Iverson completed 100 hours of community service, two years of drug testing and three years' probation, after which his record was expunged.

hey gonzolays were you as mad as I was that the celtics traded their draft pick of foye? I think foye could fill two holes for them. I don't think that telfair is anything special? Just wanted to know your feelings on this subject.
But why would anybody want Foye over Telfair?
Randy Foye shot 41% and averaged 3 assists per game in COLLEGE and he was a senior God's sakes. Those are TERRIBLE averages for a college senior.
Sebastian Telfair on the other hand, shot 39% as a SOPHOMORE NBA player. He averaged 3.6 assists and 9.5 pts per game in THE NBA!
How is Foye head and shoulders better than Telfair? Because he averaged more points? Foye played against VASTLY INFERIOR talent compared to Telfair. If Randy Foye went to the NBA straight out of high school, what do you think this NBA averages would be? As a sophomore in COLLEGE, Foye averaged 13 pts, 3.6 assists, and shot 38% from the floor while playing 31 minutes a game. Telfair matched his assists numbers and shot a BETTER PERCENTAGE from the floor than Foye AS AN NBA PLAYER!
Had Telfair decided to go to college instead of the pros, what do you think his averages would have been? Now keep in mind he was going to be the "man" just like Foye had he matriculated at Louisville. If he averaged 9.5 pts and 3.6 assists a game vs NBA talent in only 24 minutes stretched out over a 82 GAME season what would he have done in the 35 minutes a game Foye was receiving stretched out over a 33 game season? You can naturally presume he would have ATLEAST averaged 16 pts and 7 assists per game as a sophomore if not more. You don't think he could have dropped big games on the likes of Longwood, Monmouth, Stoneybrook, Bucknell, Leigh, Rider, South Florida, and Penn just like Foye did? And Foye STILL only shot 41% from the field and he is the better player?

Bronco's Rod Smith trial date is set
CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (AP) -- Denver Broncos wide receiver Rod Smith has pleaded innocent to charges of beating his common-law wife during an argument at their Parker home.
Smith on Wednesday entered the plea during an appearance in Douglas County court, after which his lawyer, Cris Campbell, issued a brief statement.
Smith's wife, Jami Mourglia-Smith, "has consistently stated ... that this did not happen and she lied about it," said Campbell.
"But still the district attorney's office is moving forward with this case thinking that Miss Mourglia is a battered wife and a victim of abuse," Campbell said. "They think she's the typical battered wife and needs the help of the state to get out of her situation."
Mourglia-Smith, who has been with Smith for seven years and has two children with him, told police her husband threw her around, banged her head on the floor and choked her during an argument over who would get custody of their children after their divorce is finalized, according to a police report.
Smith, the leading wide receiver for the Broncos for the past two seasons, surrendered to police Jan. 24 after Parker police filed charges of third-degree assault and harassment.
According to Colorado law, once an allegation of abuse is raised, "someone has to get arrested," Campbell said.
Parker police reported that Mourglia-Smith had a swollen cheek but declined treatment and urged police not to press charges. She even asked police to arrest her, saying she had lied to police about the beatings.
Last week, an arrest affidavit released by the 18th Judicial District Attorney's Office detailed the abuse Mourglia-Smith had described to police.
"The information released by the district attorney's office is at best inaccurate and, more accurately, is false," said Shane Edgington, a lawyer representing the Smith family. "Jami absolutely denies the abuse."
A temporary restraining order against Smith has been lifted at Mourglia-Smith's request, Edgington said.
Both Smith and his wife declined to comment.
A jury trial has been scheduled for May 8.

Look man, you're right. Rod Smith and Iverson aren't even in the same ballpark when it comes to off-field problems. Rod Smith is a good guy who IMO got into a bad situation and made a mistake. I'll be the first one to say Allen Iverson is a gangster. Grew up in the 'hood, all that.
But why people are upset is that we come across people who don't like basketball, and those people point to Iverson and say "he represents that whole league," which couldn't be farther from the truth.
That's like saying Ray Lewis represents the whole NFL, when that isn't true either. Like I said, every sport has their bad apples. Just the nature of the game.
If basketball isn't your thing, that's cool. I personally don't like hockey, just doesn't entertain me. But we come across people saying "I don't like the NBA because it's full of thugs" when it's just not true.

Bill, NBA bylaws mandate the Eastern Conference has to send a representative to the Finals each year and the Conference was never weaker than in 2001. When Atlanta sent Dikembe to Philly at mid season, they went to the Finals, essentially by default, in 2001 (http://www.basketball-reference.com/leagues/NBA_2001.html).

How so? Because I paralleled a ridiculous statement made by Bronco Beerslug about Allen Iverson by posting an equally ridiculous statement about Rod Smith?
How is Allen Iverson a "thug?" Is he out robbing people? Is he breaking into homes? Is he robbing elderly people of their life savings? Is he car-jacking fools in the middle of the night? What makes him a thug? Because he has been arrested? Rod Smith has been arrested. So that makes Rod a thug? No, absolutely not. Same for Allen Iverson.
Everyone makes mistakes in their lives. Some people call smoking weed or carrying an unregistered handgun a mistake. Some people say beating your defenseless wife is a mistake. Do those mistakes make those people "thugs?" I guess that is up for the individual to decide.
The only reason Allen Iverson is a thug because he dresses gully. That's it. No one pays attention to his enormous body of charity work. No one pays attention to his patriotism by being the only big name veteran in the NBA to give up his summer and play for the US Olympic team when great citizens such as Kevin Garnett and Shaq refused to.

You're a ****ing moron.
Iverson's rap sheet has numerous entries.
Iverson spent time in the slam for inciting a riot.
Iverson went looking for people he didn't like and pressed a 9mm up against their faces.
Iverson deflects all questions about his personal life with a **** you attitude.
Rod Smith made a huge mistake, but he handled it about as well as you possibly can.
He accepted blame. He was contrite and embarrassed. He sought counseling for his problem. When it became obvious reconciliation with his wife was not going to work, they decided to split amicably. He's never had any trouble with the law before or since.
You're a ****ing moron.

ROFL!
People who "worship" these kinds of individuals are a classy group!

1993
A highly publicized incident that almost jeopardized his college career involved in a racially-charged fight at a Hampton, Virginia bowling alley. On February 14, 1993, Iverson and several of his friends became involved in a racially-charged altercation with a group of white teenagers. During the fight, Iverson was accused of attacking a woman and hitting her in the head with a chair. He, along with three of his friends, also black, were the only ones arrested in the incident. Iverson, 17 years of age at the time, was convicted as an adult of the felony charge of "maiming-by-mob" and received a 15-year prison sentence (10 years suspended).
This incident was profiled on the television newsmagazine 60 Minutes due to claims of racial bias in the adjudication of the case. L. Douglas Wilder, at the time Governor of Virginia, became convinced that Iverson had been treated unfairly and controversially granted Iverson clemency, releasing him from his sentence. Iverson's conviction was later overturned on appeal.

1997
Iverson was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and for possession of marijuana. He pleaded no contest and was sentenced to community service.
2002
Iverson allegedy threw his wife Tawanna out of the mansion during a fight. The following night, an enraged Iverson later went looking for his wife at his cousin's apartment. According to the police report, Iverson repeatedly threatened to kill his cousin Charles Jones and Jones's roommate while showing them a semiautomatic gun. Iverson was arrested and charged with 14 different counts. All charges were ultimately dropped after conflicting testimonies from witnesses.
2004
During the latter part of the 2003-2004 season, Iverson bristled under the disciplinarian approach of the Sixers' new head coach Chris Ford. This led to a number of contentious incidents, including Iverson being suspended for missing practice, fined for failing to notify Ford that Iverson would not attend a game because he was sick, and refusing to play in game because he felt "insulted" that Ford wanted Iverson to come off the bench as he worked his way back from an injury.[4]
On February 24, 2004, Iverson, a noted regular casino patron, was spotted at Bally's Park Place in Atlantic City urinating in a trash can in full view of staff and patrons. He was told by casino management not to return.[5]
When the 2004 United States Olympic team gathered in Jacksonville, Fla., for its first exhibition game, Allen Iverson was late. He was suspended for the game.
2005
On December 9, 2005 after the Sixers defeated the Charlotte Bobcats, Iverson paid a late-night visit to the Trump Taj Mahal. After winning a hand at a three-card-stud poker table, Iverson was overpaid $10,000 in chips by a dealer. When the dealer quickly realized the mistake and requested the chips back, Iverson refused and a heated head-turning argument between him and casino staff began. Atlantic City casino regulations reportedly state that when a casino makes a payout mistake in favor of the gambler, he or she must return the money that they did not legitimately win by playing.
2006
On April 18, 2006 Iverson and Chris Webber arrived late to the Sixers' fan appreciation night and home game finale. Players are expected to report 90 minutes before gametime, but both Iverson and Webber arrived around tipoff. Exasperated coach Maurice Cheeks notified the media that neither would be playing and general manager Billy King announced that Iverson and Webber would be fined.
Rap music
In 2000, Iverson recorded a rap album named 40 Bars. However, after being criticized for its controversial lyrics, he eventually was unable to release it. Going under his moniker, "Jewels", the album was alleged to have made derogatory remarks about homosexuals
Punk'd
Iverson was initially denied entry into his own 30th birthday party at the Garden of Eden Club in Los Angeles by a bouncer who told him that he couldn't enter because one of the President's daughters and the Secret Service were inside the club. According to some, Iverson reacted "true to his expletive-filled on-court persona" by becoming belligerent and shouting "I didn't vote for him!" When he was "Punk'd" by Ashton Kutcher, Iverson laughed it off, then successfully played the same prank on another guest, this time keeping Indiana Pacers' forward-center Jermaine O'Neal out of the party because O'Neal did not bring any girls. Iverson's wife, Tawanna, who also attended that party, was later "Punk'd" by Kutcher.
NBA dress code
In 2005, NBA commissioner David Stern banned what critics and supporters call "hip-hop culture"-related attire such as Mitchell & Ness throwback jerseys, baggy jeans, crooked baseball caps, knee-length t-shirts, large items of jewelry, and Timberland boots. Punishment for violations would include fines and possible suspensions for repeat violations.
Iverson harshly criticized Stern's dress code, saying that it "would not change a person's character regardless of what type of clothing they wore", and that "associating hip-hop styles of dress with violent crime, drugs, or a bad image is racist." Iverson also said that the advertising of many prominent NBA sponsors, such as Nike, Reebok, Puma and Adidas were heavily influenced by hip-hop culture.

How do you know that Iverson's a low life? Do you know him personally or do you just go off of what the media tells you?
I go off what the cops tell me.

That sonofabitch Pete Rose did the same thing at the MGM out here. He wound up keeping several thousand dollars and the blackjack dealer and pit boss lost their careers.

Denver should go ahead and trade for him, though. Its not like they're going to win the championship next year anyway, so they might as well have the circus in town for a while.

That is so true. Just an all around sleazy character. One of the things I always loved about Pete Rose was the way he used to brag that he never read a book all the way through. He stopped doing that, but it was such a perfect insight into his pitiful excuse for a personality.
If you've ever had the opportunity to hear him host a sports radio show, its kind of fascinating for about the first 15 minutes. The depth of his ignorance is almost frightening.
