Well here we are again! Another Broncos season on the horizon! I'd like to start off by saying it really has been a pleasure putting these tailgates together over the last few years. They wouldn't even be half as fun if we didn't have the energy and enthusiasm that you all bring. I know it's been a tough offseason with the war in Iraq and we've all had our differences of opinions about politics but let's not forget why the OrangeMane is here. It's about Broncos football and friendships not who's right and who's wrong.
I'd like to recap how the Omane tailgate party has evolved over the years. We started like this. http://img389.imageshack.us/img389/2984/mhbeginning6uy.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Then Taco and started yapping about chartering a bus to Canton for the HOF game and we built this.
http://img324.imageshack.us/img324/8167/of25vi.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Which evolved into madness like this:
http://www.orangeforceone.com/albums/ptm/20051224_Raiders/slides/DSCN5054.html
Which brings me to a project I've been planning for over a year and half now.
I'd like to annouce the new location for the OrangeForceOne/Orangemane Tailgate party. It's located adjacent to Lot M. I don't have a specific parking lot name yet but I'm leanging towards Lot MH. ^5
We had a blast in LOT CR-V space #31 but we outgrew it and I just felt we needed our own parking lot to celebrate Broncos games plain and simple. ;D
So here is a quick tour of our new spot. It has one of the best views in Denver:wiggle: . Also we are just a quick 30 second walk south from our previous location in LOT C and a 1 minute walk to the ticket office.
http://img327.imageshack.us/img327/2030/mhview6wo.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Plenty of room for buses:
http://img278.imageshack.us/img278/2072/rptailgate0582jj.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
And other tailgate parties like MileHigh Jester and Crushzilla who'll be joining us all season long. :militia: The nice thing about this tailgating lot is it opens when WE BRONCOS FANS want it to open.:)

So what does lot MH evolve into in the future? Stay tuned for the next few seasons! I look forward to all the ideas you guys can bring. This is going to be one helluva fun project. I leaked out a couple times I was working on something bigger than a bus. Well here it is!
I think a nice coat of orange/blue for the building might be a good place to start.
GO BRONCOS!

I look forward to seeing you in less than a month for TC. I will be there from July 30th to August 6th paving the way for Kaylore to get a better view and a little better access to the players and plays in camp  We WILL get together this time and you can meet the Kids too.
Hopefully, I will get to see that site several times next fall and January!

Yeah he hooked up the Metalla Kids at our tailgate party 2 years ago. That band helped us bring home the "loudest tailgate party" award...lmao
I think they were also responsible for the rule change about bands in LOT C. Ha!

Another perk is we have a few hundred neighbors that like to tailgate right beside us on gameday. : A northwest view from the roof.

the crush, avs, and nuggets died in the playoffs, and all i see on the tube lately is tennis and futbol. UGGHHHH!!
between that and the many other offseason issues (both personal and broncos related with my draft day meltdown) i just want the season to start.
God willing it will be a good one. we need it.
hopefully we can build on everything thats been done in the parking lot and take even more of it into the stadium.
we had some of the loudest and orangest crowds in a LONG time last season, so here's to hoping it continues!!
see you all there, and a special thanks to meck, disco, and co. for all their hard work getting things set up.
see you all there.

i knew you were trying to acquire property near the stadium and you sure have hit it. I am not sure if you are renting out the building but make sure the lease states you have "rights" to the lot on game days. You have an overview map and how to get there. Looks like it is off of Colfax. Are you charging parking or better yet can we park there? Details details. Just think no closing time, consume whatever we want and if something happens, we just point to Meck as owner!

I'll be calling you dude. Don't worry about that. They tore down Ole Mile High to the north of Invesco. We'll rebuild the spirit of that ole place the best way we can to the south. Salute!

CaliJohn: To answer your questions. I have it all worked out man. The plan isn't to cram cars in this parking lot. I'd rather save the room for Bronco buses/Tents/BBQs/Kegs (those are allowed here;D)/A band/Lawn Chairs/Broncos fans/Hot Tub etc. We always had a problem even getting band equipment passed security just so they could drop their stuff off. I'd like to save a spot or two for band members etc. There definetly is a ton of parking all around there though and it's alot more accessible than lot C was I can tell you that.

Get your Jewerly store to sponsor the interviews & tell the players you are giving out watches & or Jewelery etc... like they do on the pre/post game shows! you don't have to give them great watches I am sure we can take a collection here! I have a Donna Reed watch I can send you I bought it when I had a crush on Donna Reed when Nick at Night was playing the show. Maybe Champ would like a Donna Reed watch & will give you an interview for it.

Isn't single malt a requirement at all tailgates??? I can do without the Cigars!
Meck, Props for getting it done. I remember when it was just a "plan". I spoke with one of the Bronco's equipment managers over a few scotches yesterday and I guess they were looking to buy the property to use for storage space.

Nut it's funny you mention the building being used to store equipment. The Denver Nuggets actually rented the building for about a decade when the old Mcnichols arena was nearby.
The building isn't exactly shinny and screaming Broncos right now but neither was the New Jersey transit bus when we first saw her.

Some of you may recall this is what we dubbed the bus project at first until Mock came up with "Ground Force One". Then Orange Crusher suggested "OrangeForceOne" and it stuck!
For now the new project is simply LOT MH.

Well that's how the bus project went. People would toss out ideas like "Stripper Pole" and we'd add in the ideas as we could....lol
The first two ammenities I plan on adding is a commercial grade flag pole and leaving a permanent grill on site. I'm tired of jerking around with a flimsy flag pole and my big ole cast iron smoker grill is itching to get down there.
I have to check with planning and zoning to see how high of a pole they'll allow. We do have to follow the rules of the City of Denver.

So.... this is from the Local.Live.com virtual earth tool... get's pretty close...
Meck, can you confirm this is the building and lot that you are turning into Lot MH / Orange House / Camp Orange? Also, does the property include the lot all the way over to Decatur or just immediately south of the building?

That's a pretty slick view! You got it! MH includes the building and the lot to the south of the building to the pine trees. Mr. Bowlen/Stadium district owns the rest of the parking spaces around the building to the north/west. I don't think he'd be interested in selling the lot all the way to Decatur street. We could ask though.;)
There is a nice shot of the green space to the south. That will make a nice spot to toss the ole pigskin around!

I'm not sure it goes that far south, dunno but that's the site.
I suggested Orange Fort One because it uses those ribbed prefab concrete walls and gray. It's built like a fortress. Like the Bus, I'm sure he's got all kinds of crazy ideas. I don't know if he can get by with the 90 foot bar tho. I'm starting to get visions of a second stripper pole.

Awesome Meck. Now the questions is, can you get the stampede to march under the bridge to come see us?
Good question Dumpy. The way I see the combined miles flown and driven for KC game alone between the members of the Omane should easily top 25,000 miles. I would think the stampede could walk the extra 700-1,000 feet to our new spot. Those cats are pretty cool. I think they had just as much fun playing for the group as we had dancing and burning chief shirts to their beat.:yayaya:
Patswin: Your line is real close. There is a bit more property to the west.
Youcandoit: Basically LOT M not to be confused with LOT MH is the entire area around the highlighted area that Patswin marked off.
Season parking passes for lot M can be purchased for $300.00 or $30.00 a game on a first come first serve basis. The nice thing about LOT M is the Broncos offer up alot more spots there then they do in LOT C. They only had like 40-50 spots in LOT C for sale to tailgaters last year. Basically LOT C was a ghost town until about an hour before gametime. That is when all the people with their BMWs would rush into their parking spots and scurry up to the club level.
Bottom line is Lot M has a much better vibe and it's FULL of tailgaters who get there early and there is plenty of room for anyone that wants to park there. Or if you want to save a few bucks you can park in LOT N which is also a great tailgate lot a bit further south of us for $20.00. Or if you cruise around a bit AK said there are 10-15 spots nearby.
We might have a couple extra spots in MH if an omaner rolls in with a trunk full of beer and beef. Please contact me in advance though.

Actually the upside of having extra tailgate spots in MH is we can now have have extra vehicles on hand and zip over your way. Before we were always trapped in LOT C. We can all pile into someones pickup truck and cruise over for a visit.
Or vice versa. If you guys want to swing by MH we'll have room for someones car/truck to stop in and you won't have to pay 40 bucks just to get near the tailgate.
I'd imagine there is someplace close to leave a car for a bit near R? Or is there only that frontage road to to the highway?
If not I have my bike and hopefully some more time to get away from the grill etc.
Or the heck with it. Just come out to the stadium Saturday night to help us kick off the party! You can put the new crib right on the lot.;D

Actually, I liked all the ideas :).. Driving over might work - you could claim to be dropping something off or just stopping by. They have let people in a number of times to do that. One of the tailgaters last year could not get a spot in the lot (in previous years it had been possible to get in on game day but last year was supposedly sold out). He ended up in Lot N every week but he would stop, drop his stuff off, and then walk back over from N.

Which evolved into madness like this:

Plenty of room for buses:

And other tailgate parties like MileHigh Jester and Crushzilla who'll be joining us all season long. :militia: The nice thing about this tailgating lot is it opens when WE BRONCOS FANS want it to open.:)
PROPS to you man, I hope I can get there once this year, I had a great time in san diego, but home games are always better. I am planning to make it to both cleveland games and the kc game. Hope to see you sometime this year at one of these away games Stuck in wisconsin, MILEHIMIKE

12th man and Tedman have earned their spot in LOT MH. Those guys hauled a keg to KC and were pretty much the first to arrive on scene all season long packing massive amounts of beer and grub. ^5
dont know about lobsterfest again...PETA is still calling me...lol...if we can find a pot of boiling water, im up for anything...have to ask meck if it has a stove? keg-erator? indoor plumbing? im sure we will find out the details later...
meck - my folding tables and chairs are yours for the cause...i will also donate the first keg to 'de-virginize' the new digs...what flavor???
Alright! The gauntlet has been thrown down. I can feel the orange fever taking over. The tailgates next year are going to be nuts! I cannot wait to do this.

Sweet - way to go boys... Guess I won't see you over in Lot R this year though :(....
Lot MH will be hopping.
Don't worry Archie, I will definitely find my way over to visit. You always have great grub and plenty of good beer. How could I miss out on that?

Good Gawd Meck. That's something else....
When you finally end up buying the franchise, can I have 50 yard line seats front and center????
I suggest the name 'PLANET ORANGE' Looks like your very own satelite revolving around the star of Broncomania.
Then again...when the stripper poles go up and the bar is stocked it could be "Studio Orange" inside.
Don't forget to make room for 'EGIBGB' mud wrestling events. :)

I immediately thought "Epicenter." Then moved on to "EpicenterOrange." Then I looked up epicenter in the thesaurus:
"nerve center,HQ, command post, control center, epicenter, esoteric reality, ganglion, headquarters, hotbed, hub, inner reality, intrinsic reality, switchboard, vital center, vital principle."
Im kinda liking EpicenterOrange.
