I always consider the settlement of America with reverence and wonder, as the opening of a grand scene and design in providence, for the illumination of the ignorant and the emancipation of the slavish part of mankind all over the earth. - John Adams

I wanted to wish a happy 4th of July to each and every one of you, I have lived here for almost 3 years and love it here. Tomorrow I plan to sit with my wife in my yard and watch the fireworks from Folsom field, while drinking plenty of booze and roasting some brats. What's everyone up to tomorrow?

Happy 4th to you as well. It's great to hear that some puddle jumpers don't hate it here.

It's interesting that you posted a picture of the celebration in D.C. I look forward to watching the festivities on TV every year. The fireworks as the backdrop to our national symbols gives me goosebumps every time. Seeing local fireworks just doesn't cut it...

Great picture Dagmar. Wish I could be in Washington or Mt Rushmore for the fireworks. Took the kids to Hudsons Gardens last night to see Flash Cadillac (damn they are old) and to see the fireworks. Will go to the neighborhood parade this morning and find someplace to watch fireworks tonight.

Happy 4th of July everyone. Stay safe, especially those of you who are serving our country.
