Hey mods... I know there is a poker league forum, but maybe this could live on the main for a couple of days to give the fringe fans a look...
Just wanted to give you all a heads up on the summer T.V. poker schedule.
I'm working on two new shows that I thought you guys might like. Here we go...
Already airing...
Poker Superstars III: Fox Sports Network
Most of you guys probably know about PS3. Show 16 airs this coming weekend and is a pretty good one. Probably the best line-up of any poker show to date. Only 4 more elimination matches before the "playoffs" start. (Super 16) Surprising results so far. Phil Ivey is on the bubble.. as is Fergusson and a few other heavy hitters, with a not so heavy hitter Jeff Shulman in the lead. (Though a great player.) Should start to get very interesting. Though I'm mixing these shows, I honestly don't know how the series ends. (They keep it well under wraps.)
Just started..
Intercontinental Poker Championship: CBS
My first long-form show for a major network! I should have told you guys about this sooner. It actually started airing last week. (Show 1)
Show 2 airs this Saturday and is a 2 hour special.... followed by show 3 on Sunday. I'm working on show 4 right now, which is a GREAT one. Great hands. Shot at the Palms in Vegas.
It's kind of an Olympics of poker. 21 player representing 21 countries battle it out. Big names. Sammy Farhah, Daniel Negraneau, etc... as well as some international tournament players you might not be familiar with, but are fun to watch. (Including loudmouth Tony Guoga.. ("The Tony G.")
Do yourself a favor and catch it. Fun stuff. Who knows... poker could be on Olympic sport at some point. There is much sillier sh*t in there already.
Gabe Kaplin is the co-host.. Mr. Kottah!
Aussie Millions: Fox Sports Network
Australian tournament featuring a ton of top names. Starts in two weeks. Keep an eye on FSN for listing times. They haven't set on a slot yet, but likely on Sat PM. There are some great hands. Barry Thompkins and Michael Konig call the shots. Good broadcast team.
There are a ton of good hands and one episode shows Phil Ivey just absolutely playing people. Has a few twists, too. They cut away to action at other tables, which is kind of cool (and rare) for TV tourney coverage.
Anyway, hope that gives some good Tivo material for those interested. Definitely a lot of good poker to keep you occupied until football finally starts.
