Chump change. If what Bill Simmons said in his column is true, it was well worth it....

"(FYI: In today's Miami Herald (http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/14856564.htm?source=rss&channel=miamiherald_sports), Greg Cote writes that Cuban was screaming profanely at referee Joe DeRosa right after the game, "then turned to Stern and other NBA officials who were seated at the scorer's table and was overheard to shout venomously in the jubilant din, '[Bleep] you! [Bleep] you! Your league is rigged!'" Remember when I wrote that, on a scale of 1-to-10 about being excited for the moment when Stern handed Cuban the trophy, I was a 35? Now I'm a 72. Although Cuban did deny saying this on his blog.)"

Why? Personally, if I was a fan of a team I would want my owner to be passionate about the team and willing to pay any price to win. Yeah, he can do it with a little more class, but I think it's funny more than anything.

There is a very fine line between funny and idiotic, when the man says yeah I lost in a little league football game, who gives a sh*t about you and your past! I don't mind a passoniate owner but this guy the the Roshenhaus of owners!

It is rigged....and it's been rigged. That foul call the other night was a ****in joke. Basketball is a great sport on a lame platform known as the NBA

If it was rigged the Mavericks would not have had the opportunity to win by making their free throws.

I agree the foul call was a joke, but it has more to do with the referees being by far the worst in any sport.

Mark Cuban is a tool, plain and simple. Just a big kid with lots of 'fake' money who doesnt know a thing.

Cuban is a prick, no question about it.....but I still hope that somehow, someway he buys the Pittsburgh Pirates. Not because I actually want an Ahole owning the team, but because he will actually put some cash into it instead of running it on the cheap to line his own pockets.

He's said he was interested if they McCheaplys ever put it up for sale....it'd be interesting to me to see if he'd actually step up or not.

Cuban is a loose cannon but you couldn't ask for a better owner.

I just get tired of hearing him whine. If it was rigged (which is ridiculous, IMO), would it be more rigged against him than other teams? He seems to be the only one that is always whining about it.

It's like going to Utah Jazz games here in SLC. I always point out to my wife that there has never - NEVER! - been a fair call against the Jazz. Seriously, Jazz players have never committed a foul in the team's history - it's true! BYU and the University of Utah are that way, too - although BYU and the U of U sometimes commit legitimate fouls when they play each other, apparently. I know this from the incessant whining I hear in the crowd every time a foul is called on a Utah-based team.

Very little more irritating than whining about officiating in any sport.

I am a Heat fan for this very reason.

Easily the most rigged game I've witnessed since..... well, since the SuperBowl!

DWade going backcourt, his phantom foul call, the timeout, and several other BS calls.

Cuban may be handling it the wrong way, but he's speaking the truth. F*CK the NBA. Stern is the biggest idiot to run a major sports league/association. If it weren't for a great fan base of black folks (not trying to make this a racial issue so please don't go there) then the NBA would be a lot less than the NHL!

Leagues dont rig games, refs don't rig games. Could you imagine the magnitude of the conspiracy that would have to involved? Not to mention the illegalities regarding gambling and the public outcry if they got caught?

The source of the blatantly bad calls isn't the commish (who I regard as the best in all of sports, and the quality of refs being HIS biggest failure), it comes from the absolute incompetency of the NBA refs to make a big call (or in this case, NOT make a big call) against the home team in the playoffs. And the deeper the playoffs go on, the worse it gets.

Wow.

All your well documented disdain for flavor clowns and you want the biggest flavor clown in sports to buy your baseball team?

And why? Because he'll spend money?

Hogan, when you decided not to become a Nationals fan, you were free to choose any other team. You knew going in Pittsburgh had a tiny payroll, so why would you pick them after years of bargain basement baseball in Montreal? I assumed you had simply become comfortable rooting for Jeromy Burnitz/Joe Randa level talent and didn't really care if your team ever seriously contended.

The League needs to stop fining Mark Cuban and begin suspending him. How many people on this board could stand in an arena full of thousands of people and shout, "**** you" at the president of their company?

I think its a joke the League has enabled this sorry sonofabitch for as long as they have. David Stern is almost as gutless as Bud Selig and he's got even more of a player's league on his hands.

Remove the man child from the day to day operations of his ballclub for 90 days and see if his manners improve.

Pretty much....then again I know a lot of Yankees fans who hate Steinbrenner, but appreciate the fact that he spends on the team. FWIW, I haven't seen a decent baseball owner for the teams I root for since the days of Charles Bronfman and Cuban can't be any worse than the Sith was. Since there's no level playing field in MLB...a lickbag w/ cash like Cuban, who actually wants something to do with the Pirates, would even things up pretty quickly if he bought the team.

I chose them because I've been attending games there since the mid 90's, they're NL and they grew on me. As for the rest of this, see the answer posted above. Watching a bunch of kids grow and develop is great...the problem is it seldom happens at a rate where the small market can enjoy such a thing fully...many players realizing their potential after the FA/trade/sell off thing occurs. It's frustrating and gets tiresome after awhile.....even for the very hardcore.

Jarry...never saw it in it's heyday. I took a look around there my first time in MTL, but it was already transformed into the tennis stade and looked nothing like the pics I saw of it. Too bad, I always heard it had a great atmosphere.

Bingo. The NBA refs are a joke and a travesty. Cuban has all the justification in the world to be pissed off. The games are not rigged, and there is nothing conspiratorial, the problem is the NBA refs's uniforms would be more appropriate if they wore Hawaiian shirts and sunglasses and carried maps and disposable cameras. They're star gazers. They always have been. And as long as Stern keeps looking the other way, they always will be. Dwayne Wade is a good enough player to play great without the ref's lips stuck to his ass, but now that he's got the star status, he gets an automatic 20 pts at the free throw line. It's an embarrassment. Stern is a POS with zero integrity, just like his league.

I like Cuban to a point. I love that he loves the game, I love that he sits courtside in a jersey and not in a skybox talking business. I love his passion, and his willingness to do anything and spend anything to help the team win.

With that said, he needs to check himself. He should never be on camera making commentaries on the games, or referees, or anything like that.

He's a joke. He gave his team an excuse to roll over and die and they jumped on it.

Exactly. The culture of zero accountability spread through the organization from the top down. I remember Avery Johnson taking his team to task earlier this season when they weren't getting the job done. When the Finals rolled around, he resorted to blaming the officials and making excuses, taking the easy way out.

I'm waiting for the fallout and a 500K fine. Stackhouse was hacked, not that there is anything wrong with that, but it was an incredibly bad call. It would of only brought Dallas within one, but what a no call. I hate Dallas but that was a very poor call considering the Wade foul last game. I couldn't believe it.

Cuban is going to need a rubber room.
