He's walked four and thrown 110 pitches, so its possible he'll get pulled soon whether he gives up a hit or not.
2-1 San Francisco. The Angels starter Kelvim Escobar is pitching a pretty nice game himself.

Figgins breaks it up with 2 out in the 8th.

*sigh*
Chone Figgins. Why don't the Rockies ever draft guys like that?

That was his 129th pitch of the game in his 20th major league start. Realistically, its just as well they broke it up. It would have been a mistake to run him out there in the 9th.

ESPN jinxed him. Literally seconds after they had a promo for "Baseball Tonight" in which the host said "It appears that we could end the drought of games without a no hitter!", BAM! Figgins got the hit. ESPN shouldn't have tempted fate.

I had Escobar and Cain going on my fantasy team last night. It was a fun game to follow!

Bronson Arroyo had a nice night too... A complete game with only 2 ER and one walk. Not bad.

Cain's going to be a very good one. He just needs to learn to harness the control and keep the pitch counts down. His changeup last night looked like Schmidt's...which suffice to say is a very good thing.
