Big Ben,

Just came clean with a written statement and said hes sorry for being a numbskull and said "if I ever ride a motorcycle again it will certainly be with a helmet"

He also said he simply never thought it could happen to him.

Best of luck Ben hope you come back strong in 2007 :-)

I'm not so sure "numbskull" was the right choice of words here...

Or maybe it was the perfect choice of words... heh.

Yeah Taco, I think it might be more a literal description for how he's actually feeling right now rather than my allegorical reference to his state of mind prior to hopping on that bike sans a helmet! ^5

I doubt he's going to be eager to take a shot on that titanium jaw anytime soon! It must feel weird to have a two inch long plates above and below your lips.

He should get one of those face masks that some of the offensive lineman wear that has the double extention down to his chest so he can't get popped on his chin strap with a linebackers helmet. And put one of those plexi-glass visors in over his eyes. He should be alright then after the fractures heal.

Better for him to admit to being a numbskull then to being bull headed... :)

I can't believe he was released so fast! Totally shocked actually.

Glad he learned from his mistake, many people don't, or never have the chance.

Well, he didn't exactly swear them off either. Ha! I doubt he will visit that intersection again tho.

history repeats itself mainly b/c peole dont' look to history for answers. I mean Ben had several pro athletics to look at in motorcycle history to see the results of risky behavorior. He said motorcycle is not any safer then a car but yet we have to wear seat belts in a car even if we are over 20 years of age.
