Two great sand shots today. The shot on 16 was unreal! Ball was embedded about 90%, about a foot from the lip of the trap and he flops it up and rolls it in.

But the shot yesterday on 10 was even more incredible! 18 feet from the hole, off the fringe in the rough, and he takes a full swing, lands it 6 feet in front of him and it rolls the rest of the way into the hole.

He won't win today but he's showing he's ready for the Open.

He has hit the backwards shot in competition. He did a commercial where he holed out using the backwards shot.

Plus have you ever seen him hit right handed? He learned to play left handed to honor someone in his family I think his father.

All great reasons why Phil is my favorite golfer on tour.

Everybody has a hard-on for Tiger, and I can appreciate that. He's phenominal. But much like I was never a huge Michael Jordan fan, I'm just not a huge Tiger fan. Not to say he's not great... But I just like Phil.

His best shot was the one earlier in the day at #6 out of the fairway bunker. The furrowed bunkers at Muirfield were killing everyone, and Phil's shot on #6 was a shot that no one else on tour would even think to play. He hit it in the direction the furrow was aimed, which was 40 yards left of the green, and hooked it forty yards to within 3 feet.

There really isn't a more creative player out there. He's fun to watch because he'll try (and often pull off) those shots that other guys don't even consider.

Tiger's not bad at shot creation either, in fact, he does things no other golfers can but some of Mickelson's sand and flop shots are incredible.

not quite

he shoots lefty b/c when he was learning, his dad is right-handed, so he wanted to copy his swing, easier to copy looking right at someone........so he practiced his swing left-handed...and thus became a left handed golfer
