HELP!!!!
I just bought a Sony camcorder DVD 505 and I discovered the softwear is for Windows only and I have a Mac. Is there a way to use these two fine machines together?
I don't need any "I told you so's" OK.

Hopefully I looked up the wrong model, but it doesn't look like it's compatible with a mac.
(Scroll down about 3/4 of the way down the page, and look at the operating systems it's compatible with.)

(Edit: I looked up this model DCR-DVD505. There was not any new software or drivers available.)

yep, you're (see this Mock) right "P", I just called Apple tec support and they say the best I can do is buy an adaptor that will change the signal to analog than my mac will change it back to digital and he said it's only $260. Damn my first bad Mac experience.

"More and more people are buying and loving Macs. To make this choice simply irresistible, Apple will include technology in the next major release of Mac OS X, Leopard, that lets you install and run the Windows XP operating system on your Mac. Called Boot Camp (for now), you can download a public beta today.
As elegant as it gets
Boot Camp lets you install Windows XP without moving your Mac data, though you will need to bring your own copy to the table, as Apple Computer does not sell or support Microsoft Windows.(1) Boot Camp will burn a CD of all the required drivers for Windows so you don't have to scrounge around the Internet looking for them.
Run XP natively
Once you’ve completed Boot Camp, simply hold down the option key at startup to choose between Mac OS X and Windows. (That’s the “alt” key for you longtime Windows users.) After starting up, your Mac runs Windows completely natively. Simply restart to come back to Mac.
What you’ll need
• Mac OS X Tiger v10.4.6 (check Software Update)
• The latest Firmware update (check Support Downloads)
• 10GB free hard disk space
• An Intel-based Mac
• A blank recordable CD
• A printer for the instructions (You’ll want to print them before installing Windows, really.)
• A bona fide installation disc for Microsoft Windows XP, Service Pack 2, Home or Professional (No multi-disc, upgrade or Media Center versions.)"
The rest is here:

I did and it is only three days old but returning stuff in Mexico is not like returns in the States. I will have to be on top of my game to get my money back.

If you have any troubles just ship that sucker to someone in America. Walmart will take it back.

I got it at Cosco in Cabo so I'm hoping they will take it back, they have an earlier model that records on the current mini tape media that will work but not what I wanted.
lets see I got a HD TV that can't find a HD signal, I got a HD TiVo that won't pick up most of Direct TV's HD channels, I got a regular TiVo that won't pick up anything and now I got a fancy new record to DVD camcorder with wide screen and surround sound capabilities that won't work on my mac. Good thing there are lots of beaches here.
Thanks everyone for the feed back

I already use the most user friendly OS and software in the world so why would I want to buy a MAC, so I could use Windows?

No reason I can think of, but don't ask me. I've been on one Mac or the next since 1986.

No kidding I liked it better when all I had to worry about was how many transistors that new radio at Mongomary Wards had.
