Sapp is a fat slob, I wouldnt be shocked to see them part ways with the high priced under achiever.

Uhhh, okay. Didn't Warren Sapp appear in like six straight pro bowls?

Sapp used to be a fearsome DT.
At this point Sapp is a fat slob who still runs his mouth like he thinks he is a premier player.

Appear, as in past tense. Yep, he USED to be a huge force. As of lately, he hasnt done crap.
In Detroit, he might have a decent year because of the hogs the Lions have up front.

No he is old. You can call any old NFL offensive or defensive lineman a fat slob because they are not producing like they use to. Same could be said for Ted Washington or Keith Traylor.
They were fat when the produced. Nothing has changed except age.

The drop-off since 2003 has been remarkable though.

5 sacks last year in ten games which happens to be 1 more then our team leader during 16 games. Also its 3 more then our best DT.

This guy could be a great role player. Get him in a rotation. He still has a great motor.
The problem is I doubt he will take "Role Player" money.

Is this in any way suprising?

This is purely speculation from a Detroit beat writer.
I doubt Sapp is waived. We're a bit thin at DT ourselves (not literally) :)
If they need to free up money I would guess Bobby Hamilton is waived before Sapp.
