I'm sure you are all waiting with baited breath.
Let's start with the defense, where championships are made.
7 Browncos borders on absurd, but they stick like elmer. We should be good against the run again and hopefully Lamg, Dumervil or Jackson can emerge.
LB:
Not alot to worry about here. Too bad Pierce never panned out. The starting crew is fine, very fast. Predator and Burns can stop in if there are injuries.
CB:
Best group in ages. All our rookies are now vets, we have Champ, and if Little Willie can come up, we are set.
S: Lynch is the Rod Smith here. It's a weakness but Browner or Cox might spell the old man. Still a weakness altho Lynch made the pro bowl. Need a cover safety.
Offense.
OL:
We are seriously undersized but our scheme makes up for it. Nalen is long in the tooth but should of made the pro bowl. Lepsis is better than we think, including me. This is an area that still needs attention. We got a couple late prospects, that's it.
WR:
We have 10 other WR besides Lelie. Funny thing is we wouldn't taken 2 WR and a TE if he wasn't pissing on himself. We have to get ready for life without Rod Smith but we have alot of ammo here to find a gem. Walker will be just fine in time. He's not Barbaro. He will come back. Give it time. Brandon Marshall is going to be a star. Write that down. Write that down twice because he's going to be a star.
TE:
You have to start out with House. Class organization. I know he's a LT but he's a hybrid kinda. I doubt he makes it. Cutler rooming with Chef is pretty cool, another smooth move by Shanahan. Unlike Putz, he LOOKS like a TE.
RB:
I told Wabbit that Dayne would be our starter last year, you can ask him...he's on field one. Nothing really will be different, insert Dayne for Anderson. Bell is right there, and Cobbs is very underrated. Bell is a darkhorse. I think franchise LT or RB will be our pick next year. We are fine at RB but not scary. You would be crazy to discount Cobbs who runs as well as the Whizzinator when healthy. Sapp is another hidden rock. We are very deep at RB or wouldn't of released Anderson.
QB:
Where do you go when I'm a total homer on Cutler. BVP showed up in war gear, Jake is Jake and just fine thank you very much and we have a seamless window to the future. QB is a strength now. I jumped out of my chair when we got Cutler...he's the real deal and we have a fine QB that is amicable and not threatened, at least for now. With Mr.Crazy, Cutler and the Snake, we are set for years.
Coaching:
Losing Kubiak might bring a bit of fresh air into the room,. I don't like losing Smith probably, but Dinger isn't a slouch either and was on the B2B teams. I don't like losing Smith, but we are going to be OK. Sundquist is a fine GM. shanhan brings a fairly stong resume IMO...that's why he is in company with Landry and Shula allready.
Ownership:
Mr.Fur is the man. May be the best owner of the league. Helping Duke Elway get his own team was pretty cool too. You couldn't ask for a better owner than Bowlen.
Prognosis?
We need a dominant DT and DE, and a dominant WR to take Rod Smith's role, he can't last forever. If we lose D.J. Williams we will need another MLB but Wilson isn't too old yet. Williams would make a fine MLB if we can keep him. Denver is in great shape IMO.
11-5.
