Danny Almonte, an outfielder and left-handed pitcher from James Monroe High in the Bronx, N.Y., was named Wednesday to the East team for the All-American Baseball Game presented by PlayStation on June 7 in Albuquerque.
Almonte, 19, made national news in 2001 when his team was disqualified from the Little League World Series for his being older than the 12-year-old limit.

Can't believe he's 19 already.

Wow, time flies.

I heard he's a fringe MLB prospect at best but I may be wrong.

My cousin played in that game two yrs ago and won the home run derby. We go to the game every yr. There is some serious talent out there.

Wasn't he 19 when he was pitching against 12 year olds?
