If your house was up in flames and you could run in and grab something from your Bronco collection what would it be??

I would have to go with my personalized John Elway authographed picture.

And I quote, "Al baby, thanks for being a great fan, John Elway 7"

:thanku:

I have two, both the same concept.

When I was a kid I remember (was it #19?) Rod Smith, rookie. I got him to sign an authentic helmet and have a picture of him doing it w/ me in the foreground.

Same exact picture w/ Terrell Davis signing a helmet for me HIS rookie year.

Broncos draft day event in 1999. You could get your picture taken with the Lombardi Trophies for a $5 donation to Children's Hospital.

I got a great photo that I'll cherish forever and the Broncos drafted Al Wilson. It was a good day. :)

My most prized Broncos possession is a memory.

Back in college, my wife (then fiancee) started going to Broncos/Seahawks games every year when the Broncos travelled to Seattle. My wife was working at the DoubleTree and got us this great reate for the Sutes there in Seattle... $39 bucks a night!

We got settled in, and decided to head out for a bite. As we got into the elevator, another Broncos fan got in, with this really cool Broncos polo. I asked him where he got it, and he said that he bought it in Denver. A light went on in my head, and I asked, "you're not with the team are you?"

"Yeah, they're staying here tonight..."

My wife says the expression of joy on my face was priceless. I ran back up to our room so I could put my recently purchased Elway jersey in the window of our Suite, so the Broncos could see it... As I put it up and closed the door on the way out, across the atrium on a level just above ours was THE MAN, walking across to his room with a big brown leather bag across his shoulder. I looked up at him, he looked at me and he pointed! I just grinned from ear to ear, gave him a thumbs up, and then pumped my fist. I was on cloud nine.

Later that night, I sat outside the room in which they were having team meetings. I just wanted an in person glimpse of these larger than life figures. They started filtering out, and I just gazed on in amazement, not really wanting to bother them like some fanboy... but taking in the moment as much as I could.

Finally, Mike Shanahan walks out and is standing between me and the elevator that leads back to my room. I take this as an opportunity and walk up to Mike to shake his hand.

"Good luck tomorrow coach," I smiled.

"Thanks son. See you at the game?"

"Wouldn't miss it for the world."

I did too and noticed the friend of Will of Will and Grace was in a commercial where all the men hide in the middle of the clothes circle rack to watch football. He mus tbe a great actor to "pretend/act" that he is a str8 male tha tlikes football while shoping with his WIFE!
My favorite broncos item...HMM, quickly I would say my SuperBowl ticket stubs that Elway and team won. Glad I went to witness his first SB win and was in MIAMI to see his last game. Have so many items but that is nostalgia at its best.

I'd go with my ever-expanding library of Broncos games on DVD. I'd also grab this orange plastic visor that I got at a Broncos game in 1984. I think the deal was that they were supposed to be handed out at the Monday night Packers game on 10-15-84 (it says "Orange Monday" on it), but there was a blizzard that night, of course, so they opted to give them out instead at the 11-4-84 Patriots game (and what a game it was. Dennis Smith return a fumble 63 yards for the clincher.). It's just a cheesy piece of junk, but I've somehow become attached to it as a memento from my childhood.

When I was a kid we went to training camp every year, and I always stood at the rope line after practices were over in the hopes of getting a few autographs. I still have the ball from those times, it's this bright Orange and Blue nerf with the old logo on it. In black sharpie there are names like Rich Karlis (hence the username), Simon Fletcher, Dennis Smith, Karl Mecklenburg, Louie Wright, and a QB named Elway.

I love that ball. Brings back a lot of memories. Especially the one where Rich Karlis and Simon Fletcher played catch with it, with me for a little bit. Imagine me, a skinny seven year old white kid looking up at Mr. Fletcher as he asked to see my ball. It was a little intimidating, but freaking awesome nonetheless.

I can't stop laughing. I got an old cowbell that weighs about 5 pounds and that thing, Tinkerbell could fly around with that. The PomPom only made the shot funnier. I'm not trying to start a fight, but give that man a real cowbell, I will send him one that is real. I don't know about what they let in the stadium, but a real cowbell isn't something I could hang on my cat's flea collar.

The pompom just made me laugh harder. This guy could probably throw me 5 yards but I can't help laughing.

I would never biring that relic in, it would last thru pregame. I have no clue how old it is, but it's old. The handle is ok but where the bell rang is literally to the point you could crush it I think. I just thought that was a tinkerbell routine with a pom pom from a pretty beefy guy. I had to laugh.

Time for a mock story of another close encounter with death. We had this place called the Ponderosa we attempted to raise cattle, and we had this crazy as hell bull. We couldn't control him. Somehow we got a bell on him and he hated any human he ever set his eyes on. We had a corral made of creosote railroad ties with bolts and railroad ties tying them together. The idea was they wouldn't like the creosote.

Well I'm my usual crazy kid, and I jump in. That SOB (His jewels hung about a yard) charges me and I just get over the corral and he hammers it. I swear this is a true story. He cracked that railroad tie and fell down unconcious.

How do you crack a railroad tie? Then when the cows are in heat, you let him loose and he's a crazyman. He laid the whole herd and then went thu a wire fence like it was tin foil. This Bull was like that Gargoyle in GhostBusters. So he is on the loose. After he had his way with all the Ladies, he busted out for more fun. I swear this is true. We had to fix the corrall and shoot him up with a dart by the vet to get him contained again. We was a Bhrama or Big Holstein or something. Big Yellow thing. We had electric fence up which worked, but not for this monster.

How do you ram a freakin' railroad tie and crack it? I got my leg over just in time.

I'm not that big on memorabilia...and I certainly wouldn't pay for somthing to be signed. A jersey's about the extend of what I have, and a few caps.

About 6 or 7 years ago, my daughter...she was about 9 at the time...returned from a trip with her mom to one of these neighborhood garage sales I despise. She spent part of her meager allowance on getting me two stuffed bears wearing Bronco uniforms...one was Romanowski and the other was Sharpe.

EASY question.

i have LOTS of stuff i treasure.
a 1977 afc champs penant, an orange crush hat from 1978, a signed photo of elway from '84, a signed george foster hat, a signed plummer jersey, t-shirts from '86, '87, '89, an earring that was my mothers, etc., etc., etc.
the list goes on.

still, above all has to be the football signed by the entire 1996 team.

a friend and coworker of mine was friends with lionel washington and randy hilliard.
it was around christmas time, and lionel and randy came into the restaurant i managed (i left the car business for awhile before coming back to it. long story..anyway) and sat down for dinner with a couple friends of theirs.

then their drinks came.....problem. drinks werent right.
their food came.....problem. it wasnt right.
i go over and get grilled. this is wrong, that is wrong, etc. etc. etc.
as lionel is complaining and im apologizing i see randy start to smile.
the smile turns into a chuckle, and then they all start laughing and annie (the friend and coworker) comes out from around the corner with a big smile on her face.
she puts her arm around me as lionel says "sorry man, she told us to give you a hard time."

i give a little sigh of relief, and as i do, lionel grabs a box and hands it to me.
he says "i know how much of a loyal fan you are, so merry christmas."

the box of course contains a football that he took the time to personally have everyone on the team sign.
its in a case on my mantle. it always will be.
