Denver Broncos
Cameron Vaughn, LB, LSU

Brian Clark, WR, North Carolina State
Tyler Everett, S, Ohio State
Rashon Powers-Neal, FB, Notre Dame
Cleveland signed Chris Barclay from Wake, wish we could have signed him. He is a powerful running back.

The Colts have quite a few signed. That's weird.

Bell from AZ is going to be added to that list to make the sixth. All of these guys are fairly decent players. Maybe, just maybe a couple will end up on the final roster or practice squad. I wouldn't be suprized to see Bell, Everette, or Vaughn make it. Sundquist said the Broncos felt they were all draftable players. Time will tell.

As silly as it sounds, given that scouts from across the league failed to convince the coaches & GMs, Brandon Browner may prove to be among the best college FA signings ever...including Rod Smith.
This kid is a tweener folks, but he has real & honest NFL ability.
Give him a definitive position, coach him...and watch it happen.
Safety would be convenient, but any DB position, including situational, would work.

I was mocked by many here when I said as much.

I like the idea of a tweener at S if he can cover. Having played corner before is good for coverage. Team offenses have changed the safety parameter. Teams are playing recieving TE's and using multiple WR's more than ever with the don't touch rule. What was his injury?

there is a whole lot of competition this year in camp, we are going to see several realtively well known broncos get walking papers I think.

I was very pleased with the pickup. We just have to wait and see. Again, I don't remember his injury. Personally, I think he just was hidden on IR. Wasn't it just a dislocated thumb or something? I don't remember any surgury.

I don't know. I heard he was really slow like 4.70 in the 40.

He had a bad combine in the 40. He's a 4.55-4.6 guy. Dunno why he had a bad day. It's why he dropped out of the draft.

yeah but as we all know timed speed & game speed are 2 different things, your talking about a AA CB with ballhawking skills & probably the mentality of a S
he may be a tweener but that's perfect for this defense considering how they use their DB's(ala Sam Brandon,Curome Cox & i think Abdullah)

I've been looking forward to seeing what Browner can do since we signed him last year. Maybe he'll finally get on the field...

Brandon's injury? Broken forearm, IIRC, in the 2nd preseason game.

Mike Bell showed some ability at the Senior Bowl. I would like to see a little more body lean out of him, but he still ran with surprising power.

I remember Browner being projected in the 2nd round last year. What happened? Was it because he's a tweener? I'd love if he could "cover" that safety position.

BRANDON BROWNER
BIO: Two-year starter and second team All-Conference choice as a sophomore last season after 44 tackles and 9 pass breakups. PAC-10 Freshman of the Year in 2003 after posting 43/6/6.
POSITIVES: Well-sized, shut-down cornerback with good upside for the next level. Solid backpedaling in reverse, flips his hips in transition and displays a burst of closing speed. Effective in man-to-man coverage and has opposing quarterbacks looking away from him. Reads the receivers. eyes, gets his head back around, and makes plays on the ball. Quickly plants, then breaks on the throw. Gets vertical and adjusts to knock away the pass. Effectively uses his large frame to box out opponents. Explosive run defender who flashes on the scene and looks to deliver the knockout throw. Defeats blocks on his way to the ballcarrier.
NEGATIVES: More of a long strider with built-up speed rather than a quick, sudden defender. Gets turned, not the most instinctive player, and at times does a lot of chasing. Marginally effective backed off the line of scrimmage. Often flagged for pass interference. Times poorly at the combine.
ANALYSIS: A defensive back with outstanding size and strength, Browner is perfectly suited to play press coverage at the next level and also has possibilities at safety. Possesses a lot of upside potential and has the skills to be a shut-down cornerback in the NFL, but far from the finished product -- needs time to develop his overall game and will only be effective in certain systems.
PROJECTION: Mid Third Round

Just something else, I'm surprised Dontrell Moore and Michael Bush haven't signed, I'd like either here.

What the deal with Bell has he signed yet??? There are media reports that he coming to Denver, but that is it. Is there something wrong?

That's what I'd like to know. It's odd that they said they signed him but he's not on ESPN's list. What is the deal with Bell?

Bell doesnt want to take the paycut moving from Arizona to the Broncos.
