Nike signs Leinart and Cutler to endorsement deals

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Former USC quarterback Matt Leinart, who was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals with the 10th overall pick last weekend, has been signed to a multiyear endorsement deal by Nike.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed by Nike, which also inked former Vanderbilt quarterback Jay Cutler. Cutler went to the Denver Broncos with the 11th overall selection.

Leinart's Trojan teammate, Reggie Bush, announced before the draft that he had signed with Adidas. Bush went with the second overall pick in the draft to the New Orleans Saints.

Vince Young, the Texas quarterback who went to the Tennessee Titans with the draft's third overall selection, signed with Reebok, which was acquired by Adidas.

Nike's stable of football players include quarterbacks Tom Brady of the New England Patriots and Michael Vick of the Atlanta Falcons.

"We are excited and thrilled to welcome Matt to the Nike Family," Bill Kellar, Nike's football category director, said in a statement. "He is a strong and talented athlete, with a bright future ahead of him."

The fitted hats that reebok makes are actually some of the best hats I have ever had. I have like 5 Broncos hats, a couple nuggets hats, 1 Avs hat.

Nike only makes stretch-fit fitted hats and they suck.

I loved the nike uniforms but in all seriousness Nike and Reebok are US sales oriented sports companies whereas Adidas is primarily focused on performance. If you want the actual best gear, go with Adidas.

Having said that, nothing like seeing a Bronco with a tick on his shoulder.

I have had some great Nike shoes. I will not knock them, because their durability has been excellent for me.

Kelme are my favorite because they make the ultimate soccer cleat for me. I always wore Adidas goalkeeper jerseys, and usually uhlsport or adidas gloves.

im an adidas guy myself. about half my wardrobe is adidas stuff. you know why? mostly because they have the coolest orange and blue combo's of any of the sporting lines. I got some sick ass bronco colored adidas stuff that fit perfect with the jerseys.

haha good one... how can u guys forget about under armour, they have the best stuff. i wear them for all my fb and vb games and for anything where i do anything. i have tons of UA stuff and am gonna get the cleats when they come out 6/3/6. theyre gonna be awesome

I'm pretty sure that Nike has it's main sweatshop in Vietnam...China's labor is too expensive. Labor shortage...too much birth control. Ha!
