I want to tell everybody here how grateful I am for your phenomenal support the last few weeks. It’s been a real eye-opener how so many people here extended a hand with kind words and personal condolences – and I mean personal. I’d like to mention several of the people

Pezman, on behalf of the board, has been right there every minute with support …

ClevelandBronco might even come to my Dad’s service June 3, and can you believe this?!: bronconia actually offered me a place to stay in Denver! And he was SERIOUS! That kind of thing, and the fact that many of these wishes came signed with given names, for whatever reason, had a very great impact on me.

Even Alec Raenos - a guy who has no reason whatsoever to extend kind words to me - sent a nice note. In many ways, the response on the OrangeMane has been the most moving part of the last month.

But enough “shout outs.” I have to say that while maybe I’m pretty smart when it comes to “book learnin’,” I readily admit I’m very slow in other areas, and one of those areas has been this place. I’ve never been on any message boards before this one, and it’s taken me awhile to realize that the people here are real people. I’ve treated this place too much like a chat-room, where you spout whatever crazy sh** comes to your mind and pick fights and quarrels all the time. In chat, nobody is anything more than a silly username they hide behind, but everyone here has shown they're a helluva lot more than that - I’m sorry it took this event in my life to finally hammer that home. I still can’t believe Alec sent a nice note – to me!

Thanks again – to The OrangeMane and to everybody here.

I put up a site to honor my Dad if you’re interested. He was quite a guy, actually. Visited 6 continents and all 50 states: www.OBriensOnline.net (http://www.OBriensOnline.net)

I'm glad you're back, BroncoBuff. However, I don't think you'll like Alec's reaction when he learns you ruined his "reputation"... ;)

I am sure you didn't mention all the well wishers you had in your post. The Mane is a good place to be and I am sure that you are appreciated a lot more than you realize. I actually watched the Coubert Report....on purpose. That is entirely YOUR fault.

I would reccommend going to training camp and hooking up with some of the OF1 crowd. You need some Bronco therapy. Go see the defense and tell us if we are DOOOOOMED!

Some things take time to heal. Some things take lawyers, guns and money. Some things take prayer and when you are doing praying pray some more. Some things take posting on this stupid intenet board with thousand lurkers, posters and Internet friends and seeing how people react and then going. Oh. Cool. It's always amazing how compassionate people really can be.

You came to the right place Broncobuff1. You are in our prayers. God's speed.

Alec gets a bad rap around here some times. He's certainly not one to shy away from confrontations, but I think that's more b/c he likes to argue than flat out being a dick.

I've said it many times before, the OM is a great community. Look at the baby threads for example. The Mane has cheered for a lot of babies brought into this world by our members, and unfortunately it has helped greive the losses of loved ones... it's a tighter group than a lot of us realize. Too bad, like Buff said, it takes a life changing event sometime to realize it.

Nice to hear from you Buff and to know your are dealing the best you can. The site is a tribute to his life and I loved the humor (the onions, my mom did the same). My best wishes to you and your family.

Nice electronic tribute to your Dad. He seems to have led a full life. You must have enjoyed many a story from his travels. Someone close to me passed away 5 months ago, and it is those magical moments a cherish best. They are always with us, and the best of them will be integral to who we are the rest of our lives, and we thank them for it.

Take care.

God speed to you and your family and in particular Ines as she works to physically and mentally recover at the same time. This was one of the core underlying pricinpals for the founding of the Knights of Columbus - to help care for a family in the death of a member. So hopefully with strong family and a deep well of friendship the pain and suffering of such great a loss will be lessened and she and the rest of you will be able to continue experienceing your father's love through all of them.

God Bless!
