Gosh, those Kings are pesky. Just one more.
That is not an 8th seed team right there, the way they finished the season.
Bonzi, wow, just amazing.
Spurs pulled it out and the big three did their thing, TP, Manu and TD.......
One more win and good riddance to this stubborn Kings team.........

That is an 8 seed, my friend. The Spurs sure arent handling them like a 1 seed should, though. Whenever Bonzi Wells destroys your team consistently, you know that you have some problems. The Spurs are letting me down. They are still the champs and will be until someone knocks them off, but it's looking more and more likely that they might not make it out of the second round this season. The Mavs look really, really good. The Spurs should take the next one. They cant afford to go 7, turn around and have Dallas come into their first matchup rested and poised to take home court.

The Kings are a much better team with Artest than before. They finished the season strong and are not an 8th seed w/ Artest but due to their early season struggles, they had to go on a hot streak to get into the playoffs.
The Mavs looked good in their first round series and then again, everyone does against the Grizzlies (remember how the Spurs carved them up in 2004's 1st round).
I dont think it matters if the Spurs go through a tough first round matchup and the Mavs having the rest, it doesnt matter in the end, and history has shown that to be true in the playoffs. The better team will win the series regardless of what happened the series before.
And as I've said before many times, Spurs have seen this before and how many times they have come through.
Its been ugly, but as Rudy T said, "never underestimate the heart of a champion."
People are doubting them but I dont care, it happened in the past and they came out on top.
This team is resilent and tough.

The Kings finished the season on a 26-11 run. They were as good as anyone down the stretch, and this isn't surprising at all. Particularly with Duncan still not at 100%.

The Kings are an 8 seed with Bonzi Wells as their best player. Nothing more, nothing less. You are kidding yourself with anything else.

I hope not. The NBA should want him out there. Bryant gave him a pretty nice shot earlier in the game, and the refs should have addressed it then. You dont let that stuff go or things can get bad fast. That's exactly what happened. LA has been getting away with some of that type of stuff over the series, and it finally came to a head.

I am not kidding myself with anything else, put it this way, if the Mavs were a 1 seed, they would be a fight for their lives right now.
Did you watch how the Kings finished the season, they could have easily beaten the Grizz in a seven game series and you are kidding yourself if that isnt true.

Which 'pretty nice' shot was that?
I don't remember Kobe cheapshoting Bell.
Amazing that you can blame the Lakers for Bell losing it. Talk about blinders.
Game 6 should be a good ride.

There was a lot of give and take with Bell and Bryant last night. The nice shot Bell took was actually a nice flop by Bell. Offensive foul called, problem addressed. The even T'd both up on an early altercation, problem adressed again. Bell lost his mind for whatever reason and should be gone in game 6. Stupid move on his part.

The fact is this: Memphis was a better team that finished higher in the standings. Memphis actually had the 4th-best record in the West, so when the playoff seedings change their finish earns home court.
Just because SA is struggling with the 8 seed doesnt mean that they are better than the team with the 4th-best record in the West.

Read my comment again, did I ever mention the Spurs were a better team than the Mavs. In fact, like I've said all season, they are both even and whoever wins the series, if it happens, is obviously the better team.
In basketball, it depends on matchups and Bonzi and Artest gives the Spurs fits because of their size and ability to post in the paint.
In basketball as well, it matters how a team finishes and you take into account what they have and what they lost. The Grizz lost Damon Stoudamire and while Chucky Atkins played well, he's not Stoudamire.
And the Kings gained a guy who when he has his head on straight, a top 10 NBA player.
You say look at the standings and blah, blah, blah. So I gues when the Pistons got Rasheed during the trade deadline of 2004, and finished w/ the second seed, they werent better than the Pacers because they had a worse record than them when the season was finished, despite the fact the Pistons finished that season hot and ultimately, defeated the Pacers in the ECF.
What is it with Mavs fan. You are already trying to state in your own way the Mavs are better than the Spurs, please let them play, if it happens, before you draw conclusions.
BTW, again, the Spurs are the defending champs.

No one said anything about Dallas in that post, I was talking about the Spurs and the 8 seed.
The Kings barely made the playoffs. Twist that however you want to.

Yep. The Kings are on a nice roll. Memphis & the Nuggets were easily the worst Western Conference teams to make the playoffs by the end of the regular season.

Sometimes teams just give other teams matchup problems. You can see that in the Spurs' series and in the Suns' series. The Nuggets just looked like a bunch of no-hearted dunderheads.
The Kings are not as good as you think.

My bad, 4th-best record, which the Grizz have. I assumed you meant the fourth seed, which is the Mavs.

I don't think the Kings are a great team by any stretch, but NBA teams ebb and flow over the course of a long season. Right now they're playing well together. They also caught a San Antonio team that isn't at their peak.
