He might be a good pick...crossing my fingers that Stanley McClover lasts till our next pick. We need a DE BAD who can rush the QB.

This guy isn't a WR. He's a TE who hasn't lifted weights.

With our coaches, Brandon Marshall has all of the measurables and tremendous upside potential, some off the field problems in the past but has corrected them. He's a big target and has sneaky speed...............sorry guys, i was sounding like Mel Kiper there for a minute.

Love the pick and I'm all over Anderson from Alabama at DE and Matua or Eslinger with the last pick. I think those guys are going to be good players. Here's to hoping.

I love this pick. I love taller WR's. The fade route is officially back in our offense.

Negatives: Lacks maturity, demonstrating a Terrell Owens prima donna attitude...Has one off-field issue that needs further review...Lacks good work ethic and struggles with authority, as he does not take well to hard coaching...Takes time building to top speed and when not involved in the play, he will throttle down...Has good power, but does not seem to relish blocking...Can break tackles, but does not have the timed speed or burst to escape in the open...Relies on his size to defeat the jam and will round his cuts in and out of his breaks...More of an H-back type, as he does not have the quickness to stretch the field.

All of the negatives can be corrected.

Positives: Has a rare-sized frame with very good overall muscle development, strong, thick legs, broad shoulders, long arms, good bubble and adequate body control and flexibility...Has adequate quickness off the line, using his size and hand strength to defeat the jam...Shows good field awareness, doing a nice job of uncovering on the move...Uses his size well to gain separation after the catch...Big target who has the leaping ability and strength to combat defenders for the jump ball...Will extend to make the tough catch in a crowd with no regard for his safety...Has the leg drive to break tackles...Runs with a long stride, but has the body control to make adjustments on the move...Uses his long reach to catch outside the frame and knows how to use his body to shield defenders from the ball.

I wouldn't doubt it. Broncos always do something stupid the second day. I don't know about this pick.

Sounds like he might be a baby TO. A physical receiver who relies on power instead of speed to make things happen. It's nice to see Shanahan going back to what worked for us in our Superbowl days.

The Lelie situation just went nuclear.

I don't see what's so good about it.

Despite his great 40-time, Marshall does not show quickness, speed or explosiveness in routes. He is just adequate in terms of quickness to the ball and struggles to get separation in routes because his routes are not sharp and he runs very upright. He does not have the playing speed to stretch the field and get separation on deep routes. He has little experience running all the routes on the route tree and basically just runs short stop routes and drag routes across the field. He does not have natural hands -- he tends to allow easy passes into his body, fights the ball, and drops some passes he should catch. He does not consistently run aggressively after the catch which hinders his ability to consistently gain yards after contact and he's not a true tackle breaker.

I doubt this guy plays TE. I think they want a big WR who can go over the middle without risking getting Rod Smith destroyed. I like the pick, I don't see him as star obviously, but I betthis guy makes the type of catches Sharpe and Eddie Mac made. Good pick, will be a solid bronco.

Mark Anderson is still available? Wow, I'd think he would be gone by the 3rd for sure. I am with you on this one, come on Shanny jump all over this one.

I've said it before, but I'll keep harping on it. Move him for Daniel Graham. the Pats drafted two TEs in rounds 3 and 4, already have Watson, and Graham, drafted the same year as Lelie, is also in his walk season. Swap the two, both teams get a need filled.

In terms of physicality, sounds like the anti-Lelie. Sound like we got ourselves a very nice possession receiver to spell Rod when needed, and another weapon for 3rd down needs.

Weren't the Pats one of the teams interested in Lelie? Wonder if the Jackson pick effects that. Graham would be a nice pickup while we groom the kid to play.

I have been talking this guy up forever!! I am so glad Shanny went for him. This guy is the heir to Rod Smith, just a little bigger. Great down field blocking, if we keep Lelie he will probably be a PS member just like Rod was. Great draft Shanny, I have no complaints!

The Pats did take two TE's, but may try to convert one or both to FB is my guess. But yeah, Graham could be available I would guess.

Keep Lelie!!!!!!! Why on earth should we move him when we can now run three wide sets with three good WRs!!!!

On a further Pats note the kicker they took right before this Marshall pick is going to be very good I think. Watched him kick a little, he's big and kicks with ease. Not very much wind up to get it far. Good pick up to replace AV.

Lelie must stay so we can incorporate the 4 and 5 WR sets next 2 yrs - I think our passing game and offensive strategy is going to be old school West Coast just like shanny likes it.

Old school west coast didn't have many 4 or 5 WR sets.

Regardless, the Pats are looking to make Watson their go to TE and Graham is in his walk year. I mentioned Lelie for Graham in particular because they're both in walk years. On top of that the Pats will have Jackson who needs polish, we have Scheffler who needs polish. We fill each other's needs for one year vetern stop gaps well if you ask me. Also, Graham comes back to Colorado and Lelie gets a fresh start in what was a pass happy offense last year.

Its a great fit for both sides. I don't think it gets done, but it really would be a great move for both teams.

I agree it would be great to have a very good blocking TE...when was the last time we did? House I guess.

I know we can get caught up in numbers, but with his size, how does his numbers compare to Ed McCaffrey. He sure has similar size and has good hands for catching the ball in traffic across the middle. Denver needs an across the middle possesion receiver that is a big target.
