well Shanahan said he couldn't pass up a talent like Cutler and when asked about what it does to Plummer Shanahan said that Plummer is one play away from injury, so Cutler is probably going to be number 2, what do you think happens to van pelt? He also talked about having walker at his house and talking about some stuff

I still don't understand how we passed on Pope. :(

probaby try to move him, maybe a reciever or a halfback of some sort. Pretty good runner, would like to see him use BVP, maybe turn him into a saftey, he has the size, but he might not have the instincts.

Shanahan is sure happy with the day's events. He was on the radio just prior to ESPn, and he was a relaxed, happy guy.

Apparently he is a very poor blocker. I guess they had enough with Putz.

I know it has been a great day getting Walker and Cutler. I don't know about the TE but I'm alot happier than I was last year.

Why wouldn't he be...
We ARE the big winners...

Why not be happy? He got a big, strong arm stud young QB for the future (without having the horrible year that allows you to pick one), a vet WR playmaker, and a TE need position filler, and picks all over the fourth round to fill more needs. So far so good...

Uhhhhh....yeah...I look at it like this. The #22 that could have been Lawson turned into a 2nd round reach for a guy we could have had much later, and a 3rd we gave away to move up 4 spots when we could have sat tight and got him anyway.
So basically we gave away Lawson for nothing...
Sorry...just how I see it.

Im not sure about him either but from the clips i saw he has good size and speed. I dont think he would be any worse than Putzier and probably has a upside. Plus, we still have Wesley Duke.

No way Culter would have been there at 15 because Ravens were tired of Boller.

Shut the **** up you idiot. You have rocks in your head. Denver wasn't the only team trying to trade up for Cutler, dip****. Denver started the draft at at 22/29 looking at bust material galore and parlayed their way up to nab a top ten caliber talent. They have never had the chance to move this high in the past because of their playoff caliber records. Be happy with what they got.

Lawson isn't going to play DE in the NFL. He's 241 pounds, DJ Williams is 242. Can you imagine lining his wiry ass up against Willie Roaf twice a year? He'd get massacred
He got taken by a team that runs a 3-4, a system in which he'll play OLB. He fits well there. Unless the Broncos are changing schemes on defense, Lawson just didn't fit.

Maybe...maybe not...we'll never know, but I think they wanted Ngata.

Jason Taylor and Jevon Kearse were about the same size when they came into the NFL.

Those are extreme examples. Those players come around once every five years or so.

it doesn't matter who thought what...
What matters is good production on the field...

Actually Browns like Frye. And they weren't taking QB.

Lawson is a better athlete than Jevon Kearse? They didn't call him "The Freak" for nothing.

Lawson may very well be the big-time player that Taylor is, but I'm still not sure he is a fit for our system. I guess we will never know now.
However, our 22 turned into a proven Pro Bowl reciever (also a need) that Shanahan just said on ESPN that he spent the whole day with and really felt comfortable with him as a person and player. The medical staff has told Shanny that Walker is on-target with rehab and should be full speed come training camp.
As far as trading the 3rd rounder to move up goes, if Cutler is anywhere near as good as Shanny, Jaworski, Phil Sims, and a few others say he is, then in a couple of years, getting him with the 11th pick, may be the steal of the draft. That is what I call value. But, of course, time will tell.

About the same size? 10-15 lbs is different from the average person to a football player. I can gain 10 lbs but I have 25% body fat that mean when I gain 10 lbs only 6-7 lbs is muscle and the rest is fat if not more. Most of these guy in the NFL is 10-15% body fat and a difference of 10-15 lbs is really a difference of 4-5 lbs of muscle. And to put that into prespective for every 1 oz. of muscle you burn 1 lbs of fat per day.
