It's a done deal we swapped the 37 for him.
Drafted for the future, and the now.
Very interesting Draft.
I don't like the move now, but maybe it will pan out.
IN SHANNY I TRUST!!!!!!!

Knee's not an issue.
You think Antonio Cromartie would have been selected in the first round if his knee was a problem?

I love it, Walker is better than any player denver could have drafted at that spot. Walker will not only be better prepared to help this season, but will be the future after Rod.

If this costs us a talent like Lendale...bad value.
We should have stuck firm with later 2nd round pick and throw them a 5th or something.
I like Javon...I wanted him but, man, this cost could be big.
Interesting. I think it's a good move. I think you guys have had a solid day so far.

GREAT MOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cutler and now Walker for our 1 & 2 picks!!!
Can you argue with Rod, Javon, and Ash as our WR's next year?
People asked for weapons, we are going to give it to them.
I love Cutler waiting in the wings now more then ever.
We've single handedly remade our passing games future in one game. And we could potentially still land Lendale White later in this round.
Scary potential in the next couple years. We have to sign him to a long term contract... now.

If he's full strength this season, it's a good move.
If he is on and off the field with knee problems, we got seriously screwed over.

We've officially got out heir apparent to Rod Smith as the #1 receiver. As disappointed as I am that they didn't take LenDale, I'm happy with this move.

We HAVE traded ASh now not enohg balls for Rod, ASh and Walker.
Maybe they are going to trade Ash for another 2nd rounder here before long. I'D MUCH rahter have ASh than gimmpy Walker but I guess we have to make the best of it so lets trade ASh and get a good RB or TE now and not wait until #61.

I completely DISAGREE!! Cutler will be a Denver legend in a few years, and Javon Walker will give us that much-needed WR immediately!! He's a lot better than either Santonio Holmes or Chad Jackson ever will be, IMO!!

I'm alright with this trade, provided we can sign him. Hali, Joseph, Holmes and Jackson were off the board, so it seems like reasonable value.

I do. Get a guy who has proven he can play instead of drafting a guy and not knowing. Watts was a 2nd rounder and still waiting for him to develop. Obviously if the knee hadn't check out, they wouldn't have traded for him.

You're thinking those dirt "potential" thoughts. You take the proven commodity over potential every time, if you're smart.

I'm pretty sure they poked and prodded that knee into submission yesterday. The med staff must have been happy with its progress, and we already know from reports the Broncos are ready to give him a long term contract.
As for the Draft, maybe they can sling a deal for Lelie today? I'd love to see them get a late 2nd early third, but that's probably a little too optimistic.

I was okay with taking LenDale at 37.
But G-DAMN he looks fat on TV right now. Whoever drafts this kid better include a treadmill in the signing bonus.

I do like the move...I do not like the cost.
I don't know for certain, but I understand that the best offer the Packers had so far was a 3rd from Philly.
A high second...almost a low first round pick seems too much BUT...
It immediately solves a big need with an excellent, proven (to some degree) veteran
Good move.

We got it done!
Glad to see we stepped up and did the right thing, here. Walker is going to absolutely destroy teams in our system, no matter WHO is throwing him the ball.
A #37 isn't cheap, but look at the pool if players we would have been throwing darts at, and like I've been saying all along, none of them come with any less risk than Walker.
I can't wait to see him in a Bronco uni.

ya i was hoping for jackson but i ges no teams really avlued him(I ADMIT, i thot he would be great at 15). well i cant say taht i genuinely expected our draft to go this way but what can i say, i do like where were going. cutler is prob the best QB in the draft IMO after watching breakdown of the others and him.they made it sound like walkers knee passed with flying oclors and i have to believe it did for us to make the deal that early. most likely the best value and most of the players there(LDW, justice, jimmy williams, etc.) all had character problems with nowhere near the performances of walker
We are still being villified for not trading for a hurt William Roaf. I'm glad that we did not make that mistake again. Walker will come back and Walker will be fine...
I am all over the trade. If we keep Ashlie we now have our #3 wr we have been looking for forever. Now who do you double cover? This will leave 1 or 2 WR's and whomever our TE is in single coverage as well as opening up our running game.

Not happy that it was #37, would have loved it if it was #61. But I got my QB, so I'm happy.
Schefter did say on KOA that if they got Walker, there would be a second trade to go along with it for more picks. Hopefully they can get a 3rd for Lelie.

Do you think we make the trade with Chad Jackson availible?
No, i think not. I think the trade was a failsafe. Kudos to the Broncos for realizing that.
In two years our offense is going to pass like this...
1. Walker
2. Ashley
3. Rod
4...Pope?
Rod will do whatever to win. Ashley will stay until we let him go. With a live arm, he has a chance now. Walker is a 1500 yd WR when healthy.

According to Schefter...his knee checked out, and the Donks already have the parameters of a new contract worked out...they wouldn't have made the deal unless they were confident they could lock him up long term.
He also said something about how the Donks had another package on the table that would have been less costly, but the Pack held firm on 37.
It's pretty spendy, but I think you have to defer to the Rat on this one. They haven't been able to draft the wideout they need for their system...maybe Walker is it.
(Edit: Schefter also said that Tampa Bay has shown some interest in Lelie...so he doesn't think the Donks are done dealing yet today.)

I personally think our WR corps look better than they have in years now. It would be nice to add a quality TE, but so far so good from me. I won't even cry if we miss out on Haas or Hagan...well...I won't cry a lot.

Do you think we make the trade with Chad Jackson availible?
Yes, because at best Jackson is a gamble (thus far all he has shown is measurables). GB wanted 2 2nd round draft choices for him, and when they saw NE was out of the market, they obviuosly lowered their price. Walker is a proven PRO BOWL WR, Jaskson has yet to prove he can be a second WR.

I would have been pleased trading our 2nd second rounder, I would have been over the moon trading our 3rd rounder, but I am a little peeved trading our 1st second rounder.
I think we over paid, and there was a lot of talent left on the board. At least we got our man though.

Before dealing for Justice, the Eagles privately offered their second-round pick -- No. 45 overall -- to the Green Bay Packers for disgruntled wide receiver Javon Walker. Walker visited the Eagles for a physical Saturday morning but wound up joining the Denver Broncos.
