View Full Version : QB at 15......

I know there is much debate on the board about Leinart, Young, and Cutler. Look past the differences in who you want and answer the question:

If one of these guys falls to 15, is it viable and wise for Denver to take the QB? Don't think individual player, but QB as a position.

I will not kick and scream if we draft one of the top three QBs. I would like to try and win this year, but if a franchise type QB fell into our laps, we should probably draft them.

I like Jake, he is a good QB, but not a franchise QB.

He is fine for the team and I like the guy, but he could play for a year or two with a stud QB waiting in the wings and learning the offense in and out. Jake would still get his chance and if he took us to the next level, then we would have a tough choice to make, but a good dilema to be in. If Jake did not take us to the next level, then we have someone ready to take over.

Jake still gets his chance and we would not have to start over from scratch if we replace him, as there will be somebody to take over.

You don't get a chance to get one of the top QB's of any one Draft that often. Atleast the Broncos don't. I say, if they (the QB) grades out, jump on it!!

Heck, yeah. All the projected picks for Dline and S and whatall around here are based on second round picks anyway. That's why I have argued: at fifteen, take the BPA regardless of position. Doesn't matter. I look for the Broncos to get maybe three-four players out of this draft. Might as well take what is given to you.

If Cutler falls to 15, he'll be a Bronco. Write it down.

I can't see it happening though. I think if he falls within shouting distance of the Broncos pick, someone is going to trade up and grab him.

This is a good question. I like Jake too, and I think he can take us to the next level. It would be nice to have a good qb to take over when jake leaves. I feel that we are a couple of players away from and I don't think we should use a first rounder on a qb. we should us it on a player that we need. I don't think this is the year to draft a qb in the first round.

Just for the record, Im cool with what ever the Broncos decide to do. If that means a qb at fifteen, then I'll support that.

I'd trade up, possibly at far as #8, for a QB...

I would be okay with Cutler @ 15, but I'll be surprised if the Rams don't grab him @ 11.

I'd actually be surprised if the Cardinals passed on him at 10.

I can see the last two franchise QB's being taken at 10 and 11. that being said I wouldn't like to trade up for a QB. If we did trade up I would like an impact player for this year since we are close...

What if one fell to 15?

Can you imagine gameplanning for Jake and Cutler? Way too different. The prob with Jake's style is that its more like Vincy's style. I just don't see it happening - too many good prospect QB's will be available in round 2.

Denver will select a S or DE with #15 if they don't trade up to #8.

It's going to be an exhausting day with this many picks.

if one fell to 15 a lot would depend on who else was available. lets say for arguement sakes that there is a QB at 15 along with Huff or Bunkley, knowing that we can be a super bowl team next year I would have a hard time taking a QB for the future if I believed that a player who could put us over the top was available today

I'd actually be surprised if the Cardinals passed on him at 10.

me too,

he's a big, strong armed, quartback with good movement and velocity. Denny Green will take him just like Dante Culpepper.

I'm not to sure that they are so different. I'll admit I haven't seen any Vandy games this year but based on the highlights Cutler looks like a stronger version of Jake. He's mobile and fearless...

I think Vince Young has the most chance to fall. Grab him if you can.

If Cutler falls near 10, We need to trade up and grab him.

I hope we trade up to #8 and grab VD - we need this energy on the offensive side of the ball

i dont agree with trading up to grab a qb, but if cutler (or vy) fell to 15, id be all for grabbing him. if he's still on the board, cutler is most likely the best player available. value wise, it would make more sense than any player that would address a more immediate need.

I agree. We will just have to wait and see. Maybe we trade up for him? I don't know. I feel like we draft almost all offense this time. I feel like the Bills will really reach in this draft.

When Culpepper was brought to the Vikings he was listed third on the roster his first year. I hope Denver's fans don't lose patience with this guy too early. I can't see him being after BVP but it could happen.

I said it before the draft and it is worth repeating....

I bet we trade up to the #11 spot and take Cutler. Then we do a deal with the Packers to get Javon Walker. That takes care of QBOTF and #2 WR right off the bat. Lelie won't be happy with that but he was already getting bitchy. Then we go with a prospect at our other #2 spot. I don't know, maybe a TE. We'll miss out on Davis and a lot of people like Pope, but I've heard about this Scheffler guy. I bet the Broncos nab him. Then we start going for guys like Marshall, maybe this Hixon guy at WR. Pick up a couple of smallish O-Lineman and that Dumervill guy that Vick stomped on. I don't know, just a guess.
