Get your predictions in...

I think I have the bases covered with the choices, but I've included the ever-popular "other" choice, just in case.

Look into that crystal ball....

good thread.......before the poll is here ill go ahead and say it....we will be trading down to get another 2nd rounder on draft day.....We are a the perfect slot to start grabbing corners, and we will force one of the teams who wants one to go thru us!

edit: But my HOPE is that Denver moves up for DAvis, that would be AWESOME! Also getting Javon and trading down is still possible, especially if it takes our 37 to acquire him, Shanny may want to get that pick back.

Absolutely!

I should have gotten specific as to whether or not they'd be draft-day, or prior. Maybe people can do that in their posts.

We should only deal on DRAFT DAY...

There is no telling who is going to start sliding...

I'm going to go with standing pat...

While I sincerely hope I'm wrong, I just feel like if we were going to make a deal for Walker, we would have made it already. We've already made a position move. (Two times, technically.)

I was tempted to choose the Lelie for a pick option, but I don't think his value is enough to get the staff to move on him. It could get ugly if Lelie plays hardball. Hopefully he'll be smart and get back to the team for his showcase season.

As for what I HOPE will happen, I've made it pretty clear. Trade for Walker and take a bunch of D-linemen in the first/second. But, I just think Shanahan will like having 4 options in the first 68 picks, and I think he'll choose to keep them.

That's the most likely scenario, and one reason picking "stand pat" isn't very safe. But, I suppose I'm more talking about larger scale trades before the draft... or day 1 activity.

If something happens, I feel it will be on draft day. If Bunkley/Ngata drops, I guess Shanahan will try to make a trade happen ... If a guy like Winston Justice drops, I think Shanahan will listen to offers and pull the trigger if we donīt fall too far down (10-15 spots max)

I have no clue. I thought we were going to stand pat when we had the 22 and 29. that didn't happen then we got the 15, and the 22nd pick and I definately thought we would stay with those picks, and that didnt happen. So, I have no Idea. I'll say we stand pat.

I think they will continue to explore the flexibility created from the SF trade and move to get players they have targeted before other teams do.

I think before it is all said and done the broncos will move more than once and Possibly get Walker for Lelie and a lower draft pick.

I think there will be movement in the top ten by other teams that will allow the Broncos to get creative in getting a few more desired players. I strongly believe a possible three team deal may occur at some point before 15.

I forsee us making moves that acquire additional picks in 2007.

I think there will be a trade when the Broncos are on the clock. I think it will come from the Giants, Bucs, Cowboys or Vikes, hoping to jump over each other to get the LB or CB they want. IMO, the Broncos want to stand pat, but I think they'll get an offer too good to refuse. They are right in the spot where the top LBs and CBs start coming off the board.

Agree - Flexibility is the key.

I should have had a "Walker for Lelie" option. I suppose you could pick either one and you'd be technically right. :)

If we do make a move before the draft I think its for Walker or trading away Lelie but I don't think that will happen just yet.

If the rumors are true that we might give #37 to the Packers for Walker then I see us trading down to the low to mid 20's with a team that needs DBs or LBs. That way Shanahan can draft White or Williams and get back another 2nd and if we get Walker for 37 hopefully that will end the WR in round 1 talk.

I can't imagine the Broncos actually USING all those picks on Draft Day. Something will go down. I voted for the Javon Walker option just because I would still like to see him in Denver...

I said NO we should stand pat and see if anybody we want/need falls. If not see if we can move back a few places then take Hali ;D

I want to see a Javon Walker trade...Its kinda hard to believe that it'll happen though...

I voted for them standing pat...

We move the #37 for Walker

We take a RB at #15 (either White, DW, or Maroney)

We draft line depth and a TE in rounds 2-4

Good job, Shanny

I went with multiple because that was the only one that said with our players. And we need to deal Lelie or we will get nothing for him when he leaves next year.

Like always the Broncos will wait to see who falls to them at #15, I can't see them trading up. It's not like them to make moves upward.

I would like them to pick WR Chad Jackson, whose suppose to be the best WR of the bunch.

But I am sure the Broncos will take someone at #15 who would have been there at #37 when they pick next.

Now they could trade back and pick up an additional pick or two, there are too many players that have similar draft numbers.

Whose to say, but I am sure we will be complaining about the picks come Monday.

I'll go with multiple choice. Walker makes sense as I think the Broncos will be looking for wideout help this year and there probably isn't a wideout in the draft that they can bank on to contribute this season. It will all heat up by the end of the week and a trade involving Lelie might happen too. Vernon Davis would seem to be the target of any move into the top 5, is there enough cap room to pay a top 5 pick AND sign other draftees?

I went with the multiple moves option simply because I have no clue, and that was not an option. I could see the Broncos trading up maybe three places to get a Bunkley, or standing pat and taking a high profile DB, LB, RB, DE or trading down to get another pick, and going with Hali and ...... Well, the point is : I don't know. I don't even know if the Walker trade will happen unless GB is really willing. Neither do I think Lelie is a hot commodity out there, and he may command a third at best. (Other teams see the same weakness, strengths and things as you do.) But that may be a Stovall or similar pick.

It will be interesting and we will see who among us is the Draft King of the Board.

To clarify: I do not choose to run.

Well, one day down with no deals.

I'm shocked to see how few people think we'll deal Lelie for a pick, especially considering the fact that we (allegedly) inquired about dishing him to SF already.

I guess I'm one of them, though. I just think we'll end up staying put.

Why not just dish Lelie and a 4th for Walker. That's such a fking no-brainer. Everyone wins.

In the past, I feel as if we didn't have the ammo or cap room to move up to get anyone, so we either reach or trade down. This year we have the ammo to move up into the top 10 easily and I think we are sitting pretty well cap-wise, so this draft will be more exciting than in the last few years. We can either stand pat or move up or down. Nobody has any idea what Shanny is thinking, and I won't even speculate. I'm just looking forward to watching the fireworks come Saturday.

Actually, I think that plan is exactly what might happen. Lelie and a fourth for Walker. I just selected that they would do more than just that by moving around a bunch on draft day to get the guys they have targeted before others.

FYI, 7th post down

There was a beat reporter from the WI State Journal on the talk show I listen to. He said that based on his conversations with Packer officials, J-Walk will not be traded. I understand you have to take it with a grain of sand b/c he is only a reporter, but it sure seems like they are determined to call J-Walk's bluff.

Shanny, Sundquist, and Co have been wheeling and dealing a lot over the last few years - probably more than any club in the NFL. Furthermore, I think they have had some great success. I would be mildly surprised if we didnt make a trade of some kind. I would love to see us fleece Green Bay for Walker. Who knows? Should be an interesting weekend.

I've read the mane for a few years but I've only posted for a couple of months. I've already watched two drafts on the mane, and love it. I can't wait until saturday, but I'm not looking forward to the slump between the draft and the season. I want to watch football now!

I'm just plain angry on draft day usually. Most of our picks last year look good, but we have some complete disasters in the past. I didn't see Walls (I was never on that bandwagon, I said the first time teams figured out to run the stop and go on him he would be toast), and didn't see Middlebrooks getting sent. Obviously SF didn't have a problem cutting him, altho he was brought back because of injuries in the secondary.

Hell, even Sundquist said he didn't know what was going to happen. Now that could be smoke, or could be the truth. I think breaking into the NSA's computer banks would be easier than cracking the war room at Dove Valley. The wabbit hasn't hopped in here for quite awile, but has said before that they have zippers on their lips. Hell, they barely talked to DJ except a bit at the combine and took him at 15.

I think Kiwi or White if he gets past Pitt. I see us moving around alot, but who knows. Moving our very late second with our first might move us up to a player we see falling we like, but who knows. I don't think Cutler is out of the question but I think that's a little early for now. Everyone remembers the last 4 turnover game by jake, but he had a very good year overall.

Another half day gone and no trade!

Are they awake out at Dove Valley? How long does it take to make a list already?
