According to numerous published reports, the Houston Texans and likely-No. 1 pick, running back Reggie Bush out of Southern California, have exchanged contract proposals.

It is also reported, however, that North Carolina State defensive end Mario Williams and the Texans are in talks as well. With the top pick in this year's draft, Houston is allowed to conduct talks and negotiations with any prospect.
No legitimate offers from teams trying to trade up to the No. 1 spot to take the Heisman Trophy-winning Bush have been reported by the Texans.

I don't understand why Houston just doesn't come out with it already??? Aren't they wasting their own time at this point? Kubes seems to have learned something from Shannahan - toooooo many secrets. I would already have a playbook in the dude's hand and getting him ready to start day 1 for my offense or defense. Why is Houston acting as if they have the 3rd or 4th pick in the round and are they picking Bush just to turn around and trade him later??? I just don't understand it, the texans aren't even rivals with any of the other teams looking at Bush or Williams what gives???

Yeah, I just saw it on the crawl on ESPN...Pasquarelli is reporting that they have actually exchanged contract proposals with both players. I'm assuming Bush will be the guy.

If they were drafting one of the quarterbacks, I could see your point, but running backs can walk in with very little prep and make a big impact. Its largely an instinctive position.
