Too bad for Bing & Dumervil.

Not one of those guys is projected to go in the first round.

Bing is a steal in rounds 3-7 IMO. I guess the Broncos are not very high on him so it does not really matter.

Brodie Croyle has a marginal ARM?!?
I stopped reading after that...
Am I missing something here?

I thought his arm was his selling point???

I've seen him throw, and you never think a guy that skinny could throw a ball that HARD... ;D
He does have serious durability issues though...

Early on, I saw Dominique Byrd being talked about in the same class as a Vernon Davis or Leonard Pope. Some projections still have him fairly high, but it's clear he's dropped since the early forecasts...

The one who won't live up to expectations is Reggie Bush because, seriously, how could anybody live up to them the way ESPN gives him BJs for months on end? If he doesn't become the reincarnation of Gale Sayers and Barry Sanders rolled into one, he's going to look like the next Eric Metcalf.

Don Banks is the worst. After Denver lost the AFCC championship game I read his column and he was bashing the hell out of us. I cancelled my subscription to SI after that. That magazine sucks anyway.

People can jam on Dominique Byrd all they want, but he's got better hands than most of the tight ends playing on Sunday right now.

I'd love Byrd in round 2 or 3, for sure...

...except Alex Smith. I think the consensus was that there was no worthy overall #1 last year and that Smith simply fit the needs and the salary cap of the 49ers better than the alternatives and NOBODY wanted to trade up.

I think some teams did want to trade up, but not for what san fran wanted. No player in last season's draft was worth too much.

SI is really weak. I swear I saw one copy that was about an 8th of an inch thick with nothing but ad pages and big photos. They have to practically give it away to keep subscription levels up and advertisers paying.
Print media is dying as well as the network nightly news.

I would have forfeited the pick before taking a third round talent like Smith.

I'll tell you a guy who's going to be a disappointment in the pros. Ernie Sims has been a late riser up many draft boards, some of them actually putting him in the top ten.
This kid is only 5'11", he's less than 230 pounds, and he's had five concussions already! I think he'll be a very good player, but I predict a short career.

What is it with you and undersized LB's :) Did an undersized guy knock you out of a starting spot somewhere or what?

Five concussions in a smashmouth position like LB don't concern you?
By the way, the list of undersized linebackers I admire is quite lengthy:
Tom Jackson
Sam Mills
Derrick Brooks
Donnie Edwards
