I was watching the draft special on ESPN and I was shock that he only had 1 touchdown last season (11 for his career). I still point to the Snake for some of his low production numbers. But where do you guys see Lelie at this point?

No. He's not a bust. Marcus Nash was a bust.

I personally like Ashley and don't consider him a bust. He had a huge year in 04 and was a nice addition last year. The only knock on him is that he isn't physical and it was extremely obvious in the AFCC last year. There were no open receivers. I know Jake played very poorly, but I think a lot of his problems were because of that. I think that explains why Shanny liked VD and TO so much. They are both extremely strong and could add that physical play to the receiving corps. Rod is very physical too, but he's not gonna be around forever. We need another physical, over the middle type of player. I know everyone remembers how good Eddie Mac was and he certainly fit that mold.

You'd better look out for Roethlisberger.

He's been a servicable #2 with occasional flashes of brilliance, tempered with occasional bouts of limp-wristedness. He's been dissapointing from the 1st round draft status point of view, but nowhere near a bust. I wish Rod would slap him around some more....

I don't consider him as a bust as I blame his lack of production more on his usage in the offense and QB play than his personal play.

Has he been all we hoped for? No. But I don't believe it's his fault. I know I might catch crap for this, but I actually believe Lelie would be more productive than Reggie Wayne if he were Indianapolis.

For what he does, hes not a bust. Wish he would average more then 3 catches a game, tho.

Hell no. Taylor Jacobs is a bust.

Good point and Ill take it further in that he is looking for the same in a RB. Someone who is explosive and yet can finish the run, which is why he looked into Rickey and Jamal.

You've heard the story of Spurrier considering Jacobs in the first round or whatever, right? HA!

Stupid poll. You have a lot to learn about developing potential answers.

Hell no he is not a bust. He's been a very good player for us that is under utilized and not a perfect fit in our system. He's nowhere near a bust.

Not if trading him gets us a good draft pick and player.

It's a wash, neither Lelie or the Broncos got what they wanted out of the tenure, I wish him well and hope we get something for him.

I caught just a moment of some ESPN Draft Special this evening in which one of those 'people' labeled Lelie a bust.

I don't understand it, I really don't.

He leads the NFL in yards-per-catch over a two year span, and that's with jake Plummer throwing to him deep when he can't find Rod Smith or Mike Anderson underneath.

Yikes.

The kid is a dedicated, hard worker on the rise in his craft.

When he teams up with a long armed QB, he'll light it up...hopefully, for Denver or some relatively obscure NFC team.

I just don't think the Broncos can afford to allow him to become a FA & potentially sign within the AFC West.

There are reasons the Media guys (you not included Wabbit :) are on TV and not GMs. A smart GM is going to get a gem with Ashley, but as you said with the right QB.

Lelie is a bust and Sims is a bust.

See how easy that was?...

Because those analysts, who aren't blinded by homer glasses, look at the stat sheet. I know it isn't real popular on this forum, but the fact is Lelie hasn't been real productive. The whole YPC argument is a contrived argument - you can't catch a couple balls a game for 20 yards each and make the Pro Bowl. That's what Lelie is - less than 3 balls a game for about 20 yards per, and little TD prouction.

It means you are a niche player - which is what Lelie is right now.

Walker is more productive than Lelie while playing with Farve. Stallworth is more productive than Lelie while playing on a losing team catching balls from the stellar Brooks. Anybody can create their own definition of 'bust' and make Lelie fit (or not, as they feel appropriate).

Lelie seems to be a nice guy. He has been durable. But he hasn't gotten it done on the field. Blame Plummer, blame Shanny, blame whoever. The analysts are looking at the stat line.

Flame on.
