Despite Yavoon's ignorant posts, cherry picking stats, poor understanding of QB, and many stupid points, there is one that I think he is very correct about: Vince Young.
To get a 6 in the wonderlic test you have to be stupider than a lettuce head. If you went down the test and just marked As or Bs or Cs, I bet you get more than a 6. And unlike the tests in the teens, this is TRULY a red flag. For those of you who have seen the test, you can attest that a six is a MORON level, and it has implications.
Adding to the controversy is that he was only given ONE read at the college level, and if it was not there he was supposed to run. If a QB can only make ONE READ at the college level, he surely will be killed at the NFL level. Moreover, his own coaches stated that VY started winning when they stopped coaching him; i.e. if he has to think, he cannot perform. There is no frigging way a QB is going to succeed at the NFL level if he is not able to perform when being coached.
Yes, he performed well in college, but that is a totally different game. I respect a lot of people who have suggested he will succeed in the NFL, but there are far too many question marks suggesting he is a big risk as a top 10.

Good post Merlin. Young has amazing physical talent, but he needs time to develop. I think he can become a superstar QB, but it would be in his best interest to go to a team that can sit him on the bench for a year or three. That is probably not going to happen as he will go early and be expected to step right in. Thats a shame.

Einstein failed grade school math.
Maybe VY has a reading disability. This needs to be researched though.

Starting with Einstein
"Einstein fared abysmally as a schoolboy in Munich, Germany, and was dismissed by his teachers as slow and lazy. Mathematics was his sole strong point: When Einstein quit school at the age of 15, his teacher claimed there was nothing left to teach him."
The reason some suspected he may be retarded is because he did not speak until he was three. He was probably too busy figuring out the limitations of Newtonian Physics ;)

And a little more info on his math abilities. Unless your school teaches calculus in grade 7...:wiggle:
"By the age of 12 he was studying calculus. Now this was very advanced, because the students would normally study calculus when they were 15 years old. He was very good at the sciences. But, because the 19th-century German education system was very harsh and regimented, he didn't really develop his non-mathematical skills (such as history, languages, music and geography). In fact, it was his mother, not his school, who encouraged him to study the violin - and he did quite well at that as well."

Look, if Vince can explain the theory of relativity, we'll call it even.

I'll settle with destroying Oklahoma, USC, Michigan, Ohio State, and co. His Rose Bowl performances were football genius. No doubt.

To be fair, most people that aren't physicists cant truly explain the theory of relativity.
I still dont know all of it, just parts.

Kudos, you saved me a post for the most part.
I would like to add to this that Young played with one of the most incredible Offensive Lines i have seen at the college Level, and constantly out of a shotgun. This is a luxury he will not be afforded in the NFL. I for one know that a Offensive Tackle absolutely detests trying to pass block in a two point stance when the QB is in shotgun - it flat out sucks and only the very best Linemen can do it.
Just be glad when the guy busts in Oakland :)
