We have all heard about his size and speed but does anyone know if he can block?

In our system the WR's aren't encouraged to block down field they are required to. Rod Smith knows the more he blocks downfield for the runners the better protection jake can get for the passes. This has been a Denver WR mantra for years. So for all of you who have watched him play....can the kid block?

Who cares. Blocking can be (and will be) taught.

Take this kid at 15 and never look back. He is the next big thing in Dove Valley.

Neither 1st round WR's have great blocking skills, i got to see Holmes much more than Jackson, Holmes could get in the way but wasn't a serious threat to really help bust one loose.
Brandon Marshall and Stovall come to mind when I think of Bronco style blocking.

two different positions. WRs don't line up on the OLine like TEs do.

He gives an effort, which is good enough for now. Almost everyone can improve in their blocking, and it's expected of Denver wide receivers to do so in order for our offensive to run smoothly. He really wants to do well, and he knows it's something he should and has to work on.

add Hagan despite what a couple of the "experts" say.

Hagan may be able to block but I've seen him drop to many balls.

One of the reasons I think Stovall would be such a great fit in Denver is because he is a spectacular blocker. Not just good - great!

The same thing was said of Boldin after his combine and I think he turned out okay. In game action, Hagan performed at a very high level, so I think it's too soon to label him as unable to catch the ball. He is the leading all-time Pac 10 receiver. I think he'll have a very solid, not spectacular, pro career.

He can't have dropped that many seeing as how he is the most prolific pass catcher in Pac-10 history

I'm sure Lelie was known as a power blocker.

The Chiefs also have needs at receiver, and are hosting Santonio Holmes and Derek Hagan -- but not Chad Jackson.
