Ha! 35........ well we both know you cant drive so 35 would be prudent ;D

On my last trip between Abilene and Fort Worth, I was blown all over the road by some seriously strong winds. I didnt slow down to 35, but I drove about 5 under the limit (70). I have a snap-in bed liner, and the wind ripped it up on one side. I had to rig it up with bungees to make it home.

i don't know when the last time you been thru arkansas from memphis but they built two weigh stations that you have to go thru as soon as you cross the mississippi river. That is I 55 north and I 40 west. It can back up track on a bad day. Also I have seen so many fema trailors I am sick of them. Put them on a barge and float them down river to New Orleans. I have seen a fema mobile home almost every day going to work and back from work.

it has been awhile since I chewed some dirt in your neck of the woods , they are always building new scales , let me put it this way , I roll across a chicken coop and I got a runnin light out , 50.00 fine , then they go through my logs , then my rig , I could be fined 5,000 that damn quick ....... you figure how many Rigs on the road , big Bucks ...........

we finally got under epa pollution rules or whatever all the truck stations have those a/c adapters that connect to the window or whatever. to help cut down on pollution. Actually I do use the doctor office at the truck stop b/c I can be in and out of the office with a prescription in thrity minutes without an appointment. They got a dentist and various other stuff at the truck stop here now. I was wondering do you hate locals in small cars or what do we (people in cars) do that pisses you off. I try to live by the headlights in my rear view mirror motto.

why do we get pissed off ? ........ Several reasons for this besides the highway , 1 pet peeve of mine is time , Truckstops are bout the only place we can park without harrasment , we cant just pull up to any place and do business ........ 9 out of 10 times you will have some 4 wheeler using the Truck enterence and exit , or some locals are just in the way , I need fuel , I am on a tight schedule , I realy dont have time to wait behind some local trying to decide what brand of Cigs to buy or flirt with the cashier ,or waiting to get some food behind locals ......... then they have to take a booth with a phone , never use the damn thing meanwhile I have to use the pay phone and hold off on eating ..... although that is no longer a real issue thanks to cell phones ...... I try not to be so rude , but when i am on a tight schedule , i tend to get impatient .......

Well I guess our wal-mart is the only wal-mart with a big ole parking space for big rigs. I notice at the resturants at the truck stop area each table has a land line phone. i was just wondering. cuz I mean I have been driven off the road by many big rigs in my commute. I was just wondering if cars driving drove ya nuts or not. My pet peeve is for a big rig to get in the left land and drive slow. I mean get over and let us pass ya. Of course all three lanes do have big rigs in them. Also I know a friend of the family has had to park his rig b/c of gas prices.

Well of course if you live in WM, Ark and haven't been driven off the road by a 18 wheeler then you are a newbie. I have been driven off a road many of times by a 18 wheeler. I try to keep the " if you can't see my mirrors I can' see you rule" in hand but to no avail. I do like it when a 18 wheeler gets in another lane during construction to keep other folks from cutting in line. I always let them back in the line after that.

I just had a vision of Spider drivin' that rig of his, haulin' a trailer with a bunch of new cars, lookin' in his rear-view mirror and seein' that dude from that Dodge commercial: "I know there's gotta be a hemi in this one!..."

That's pretty cool, man. Thanks for the pictures. I have always thought I would like that job. I would love the solitude, and the opportunity to see the country - even if it was just through the window of a big-ass truck.
