(Admin edit) Prayers for BroncoBuff and family on their loss

This is probably not for the main board, maybe not for the board at all, but I can't get any info. I'll just say it ... my Dad was killed in a car accident on 6th Avenue and Oneida late Friday.

The cops won't tell us anything because the other driver has been charged with vehicular manslaughter ... did anybody see anything in the papers? On TV? It's just about killing me, but a resident near where it happened says the other car had its lights off and was going over 60 mph - westbound on 6th Ave. The boulevards are so wide there, that he must've had his lights off or there's no way my Dad would've enetered the street. He was southbound on Oneida - get this - coming home from voluntering at his church. He was with his wife, but she's in intensive care and can't speak. They won't even allow us to see his van at the tow-yard because it's "evidence." My brother arrived at noon today to ID the body, but they would only show him the face.

I can't be there til tommorow, Tuesday at about 10 am, but I'm dying here for lack of info. If anybody read anything or saw anything on TV - it happened about 10 pm Friday night at 6th Avennue and Oneida. The guy's in custody and was driving a Mustang. We didn't even hear about it til late Saturday...

Bast**ds ... the line at the DA says "closed" now. Calling all day and no info. Actually it's a kind of a relief to stop dialing now. I know they're only doing their job, but there should be SOMETHING they can tell us other than, "call the medical examiner." I'm serious, that's all they say - 20 times today ...

Yeah - I've gone through all of them. The guy at the RMN city desk actually took my number to call me if I promised to stop bugging him yesterday.

I do know that some poor woman was killed on a brand new Harley-Davidson on the 285 - they have lots of stories about that. And a couple who stopped to help that Nuggets guy (who i never heard of) who got shot.

I understand they can't compromise this guy's right to a fair trial, but the only thing they will officially say is: date, Location, EMT Transport and hosptal, and ME disposition. They did a full autopsy on Sunday, I have no idea why except to solidify cause of death for the prosecution.. My brother thinks we'll get the police report in a couple of days.

They have several stories on the TV sites that are similar ... the woman on the new Harley on the 285, the kid found dead in his car at some motel on Quebec, street-racing deaths in Parker ... the Nuggets shooting .... but nothing on this.

my dad died Christmas night from a sudden heart attack. The only thing i can say that I think can help is that it's a rollercoaster of emotions so be prepared to feel lots of different ways. I know this sounds wierd but make sure to not feel guilty when the first time comes along where you actually have a good time. The curcumstances of your fathers death are horrid. I'm not sure what you want police to tell you though. They often won't say much to victims. that's just the way it is i guess to protect information they may not want in public domain.
