I went over to KFFL to see if there was any news, and i was struck by the number of pre-draft visits being made. I see that Ngata is visiting the Ravens and the Bills which should light up the mocks. Klopenstien (sp., CU TE) is visiting the Rams. I wonder if the Broncos had anyone visiting. I think Bloom went to Dove Valley, but I dont' know if anyone else did.

All sorts of players visit around. It's rare that you ever hear Denver bringing in guys for private workouts. In my opinion, that's a huge mistake. You have nothing to lose by doing so, and everything to gain. Perhaps that's one of the reasons why a team like Dallas (who has workouts all the time with prospects) is a good drafting team and we're barely average.

Broncs look at prospects almost every week. They just don't talk about it. Since the press doesn't hang around except during the season, they aren't there to publicize it either.

I don't see it as that big of a deal. The only reason I could see the organization keeping a tight lip about it is so other teams don't know who we're targeting. I guess we like ambiguity.

The only thing I have seen was White visiting the Broncos I think it was April 1 or 2. Other than that, I have not seen who they have brought it for a visit.

No, stuff like that would leak eventually, even post-draft. Shanny just doesn't bring anyone in.

White bringing workouts home
Sore hamstring slows ex-USC star
By Mike Klis
Denver Post Staff Writer
Going home again is rarely a lightly considered decision, so LenDale White must be getting serious.
Stung by speculation his NFL draft value may have fallen, White will leave Southern California today and return to his offseason home in Denver.
A former star running back at Chatfield High School and the University of Southern California, White will fly here today for a scheduled appointment with a local medical specialist regarding his troublesome hamstring, according to his uncle Herman White.
LenDale White will continue to rehabilitate in Denver with plans of having a personal workout for NFL scouts here before the draft, which is April 29-30.
"The driving factor was to bring him back to his roots," Herman White said Monday. "There's been a lot of attacks on LenDale nationally because he weighed 244 pounds on his (USC) workout day and wasn't able to perform because he tweaked his hamstring.
"But when he weighed 252 pounds and rushed for 124 yards and three touchdowns against Texas in the national championship game, it wasn't an issue."
Having joined his USC teammates in skipping the NFL combine in Indianapolis in late February, White was gearing toward the USC workout day on April 2. However, a hamstring pull forced White to skip the workouts except for the bench press, where he lifted 225 pounds a disappointing 15 times.
This caused several draft prognosticators to drop White's projection from around 10th overall to 22nd, where the Broncos just happen to have their second first-round pick.
Receivers to visit
The Broncos' first pick in the draft is No. 15 overall, and several draft outlets predict Florida wide receiver Chad Jackson will be their choice.
A 6-foot-2 junior whose 4.32-second time in the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine was the fastest among offensive players, Jackson will visit the Broncos early next week, according to his agent, David Canter.
The Broncos can visit with up to 20 out-of-state draft prospects. Other potential first- round wide receivers are Ohio State's Santonio Holmes, who also will visit Denver; Miami's Sinorice Moss; and Notre Dame's Maurice Stovall, who also is expected to visit.
"In this draft as far as big-time playmakers, you have Reggie Bush, you have an unbelievable freak at tight end in Vernon Davis," Canter said. "And then the premier player at receiver, the No. 1 guy by far, is Chad Jackson."
Harrington on hold
The Broncos still are monitoring Detroit quarterback Joey Harrington. Miami and Harrington reportedly have a contract agreement, but the Dolphins aren't offering the mid- round draft pick Detroit is seeking. If Harrington isn't traded, he will be cut by June 15, when he is due a bonus.
Denver also has shown interest in Baltimore backup Anthony Wright.

Well, I think that's a strong indication as to where we're going.

when I read that this morning, I thought that that sealed the deal right there. If VD falls two 15, he will be the pick. If not, then it is Jackson. Nothing about 22 there, but it would make sense to take a DE or Lewis, depending upon the picks.

Smoke screen! I can remember the last time the team has announced draft picks coming in to visit!

I just don't see why people want a DE in the 1st round. I think they can still get a decent DE later in the draft and one that can be as good if not better than guys like Kiwi and Hali. Plus, no rookie DE is going to start or play much anyway unless there are injuries.
The need for a WR is greater since Rod is getting older, Leslie is a free agent after next season and may or moy not be re-signed and Watts has a lot to prove after getting benched last year. Hard to know what Terrell will provide and neither Adams or Devoe look like they are much as WR's.
If Jackson is there, unless Bunkley or someone else not expected to be there at #15 drops, I think they about have to take Jackson or Holmes and I'd rather take Jackson if I were them.

Agree, but all of the WRs in this draft have big question marks. I would rather they used all three 4th round choices on WRs hoping one hits than take one of the projected top three. There are some pretty good DL that will drop to rounds 2 and 3, but Broncs don't have a 3 right now. They are going to target 3-4 positions and take the BPA at those positions. I would suspect those positions in no particular order are DE, DT, WR, TE, OG.

Mario is a very special player. If he stays healthy and out of trouble, he is the best player in this draft.

and Bush, the more i watch him, the more i absolutely believe the kid is going to tear it up.
Kiwi/Hali are legit NFL players too imo. Not Pro Bowl worthy, but some teams will be glad to have them.

Who will have a better 1st year BUSH or DW2?
I think it will be close, depending on who goes where, and wouldn't be suprised at all if DW2 is the OROY, especially if Denver Nabs him with the 15th overall selection... ;D

I do not think Denver has any plans for DW2. They have inquired about, Rickey, J Lewis, and had a dinner whith Lendale...all power backs. I still think Denver takes White at 22 if hes there, but who knows.

Adding onto the visits, I read a little text on Scout.com that says Colledge is coming to visit. I don't have the insider subscription, (probably will get it next year) but if anyone does -- they have a section for the players teams in the AFC are scheduling visits with. Please post, if possible.
