I hope so. If you think about it broncos still just getting by on Rod Smith who really blossomed under Dinger if I remember. Like Bobby Turner does with our RBS I think Dinger can help Steve Watson get more out of the WR we have on roster. I know Watts/Terrell/Adams and in some ways Lelie have all been dissapointing, but they all have talent I think hasn't been fully tapped. Im really happy with how Broncos came back from Kubiak leaving for Texans H/C job by getting Mike Heimerdinger to come back. If Chad Jackson does come to Denver at least we have alot of resources to coach him up.

Anyone else feel that Mike may be now grooming his succesor in Dinger?

Anyone else feel that Mike may be now grooming his succesor in Dinger? No. Heimerdinger wants to be a head coach and will be gone soon. Rick Dennison is getting ready to be the offensive coordinator once Heimerdinger's gone.

You know who I want? I want whoever scouts wideout prospects for Arizona. Arizona drafted Anquan Boldin four picks after we took Terry Pierce in the second round. :bomb:

Thats what happens when you draft 40 times over Game Film

Actually for Denver that was in reverse. Pierce was very good on Film but slower than they wanted. As for Boldin dropping, he also had an overall poor combine in other areas including catching the ball. He was the fifth or sixth WR on most boards if I remember correctly.

I'm hoping he can work his magic on Watts. Actually, if you think about it, Rod struggled with his hands early on in his career, and I think it was his 3rd or 4th season before he really made a major contribution. Maybe Heimerdinger's tutledge can help Watts in a similar way.

I am excited to get Heimerdinger back to Denver and give the offense a good screening and changeup. They have been predictable to the point of guys calling the plays on third downs in the chat room. They need some more critical oversight into the playcalling tendencies over the last couple of years and could use a few new wrinkles in the WR usage as well.

Dinger I think will make a better passing O than Kubiak. Hell, there was passing plays that Kubiak never even tried - posts, TE straight up the seam. I guess the reasoning always was, "If we can't get it straight in practice, we won't try it in a game." So to me, that means you need somebody that can get it straight in practice. And even if you can't get it quite perfect in practice, you still have to have the strategic nads to run the plays in a game.

That was a big time catch vs Redskins to win the game, wasn't that his rookie year?

I think his second, but he did little that season outside that one play.

Well...Rod Smith went from 4th or 5th wr in 1995 and 1996, to starter in 1997, where he posted his first 1,000 yard season. He had 72 catches that year.

yup. dinger is going to help us out a lot in our passing game. he did wonders for us and the titans and the jets passing game. he could turn david terrell into a stud, barring injury. terrell has all the talant in the world. he was a first rounder wasnt he? with his talant and dingers skill he could be killer. that could go for lelie too, but we might trade him or he might be gone in a year so I don't know. or maybe, if we keep lelie, and dinger turns the light on, so to speak, maybe lelie will stay. who knows. charlie adam, and luke will also benefit from him and maybe watts. we'll see. but im anxious to see what dinger is going to do for us. this was such a great sighn!

Smith was a waste of space who couldn't catch....Lelie was a bust of a pick who couldn't catch...now Watts is a waste of a pick who can't catch. We'll see.

They also drafted Bryant Johnson in the first round as well.

True a coach needs some talent to work with. But David Terrell and Watts have talent they just havent tapped into it. I think Dinger coming back can only help offense. Thats not a slam agianst Kubiak he was a good play caller, but we need some freshness in the passing game. I would especially like to see broncos get better at throwing to the rbs.
