That show is the biggest embarrassment on American television, which us saying something. Watching desperate losers gargling Madagascar hissing cockroaches' for scale, while some failed hack comic screams at them. That's entertainment alright.

The reason Comedy Central bought the Mencia show was because they were left high and dry by Dave Chapelle; they needed an edgy show to take it's place. The show sucks, yeah, but they were in an impossible position of trying to replace a show that had become not only a cult favorite, but a pop culture favorite.

Chapelle showed something that had never really been seen before; at least on regular cable. It was a sketch show that pushed the boundries like none before it. The problem with doing that, though, is that once it's done the table life becomes very short. The Mencia show tried to do the same thing, but by then it was stale and didn't work. Maybe that's why Chapelle freaked out on us; because he knew whatever he came up with would be compared to what he's done before and therefore not as entertaining.

I believe "White Men Can't Jump" was more of a jovial movie title than a social statement. The movie was a comedy. The main character Woody Harelson dunks in the final scene to prove the title wrong. The movie also portrayed two races coming together to actually pun racial stereotyping in that white people cannot jump and on a greater level that white and black people do not get along. That movie slashed those stereotypes and was a feel good movie.

Now the title you suggest "Black Men Won't Raise Their Own Kids" is born out of hate and ignorance to prove a point only you truly understand. Where do you get black men do not raise their own kids from? What are you trying to suggest from that statement? What striking social commentary are you trying to make? My belief is that your idea is born out of the fact you live in the mountains of Tennessee/North Carolina where there are few black people and the only interaction you have with that race is by clicking your remote control and watching them on TV. Exactly. I don't get into the race issue too much because my pops taught me right. He taught me to know about the past, but not to let it control my life.

My pops was born in LA in 1925. LA wasn't as bad as the south when he grew up, but there were major racial problems out here. He said that he was mad that he and other blacks couldn't get jobs. He always felt that the best person should get the job. He still feels the same way. Nobody should get a job because they are black, or any other race. It should still be the best man.

I don't have any problems with other races. I always went to schools with a good mix of other races. My son goes to a school with a good mix of other races. I like that. It taught me to get along with other races.

In his defence Mencia does use the word "beaner" alot in his standup. I think Mock's point is it kind of like the Seindeld episode where the dentist becomes a Jew and Jerry suspects he did so he can tell Jewish jokes which is kind of Mencia is doing claiming a heritage that is not his and making fun of it which I don't really think he has the license to do. It's kind of like someone in blackface doing Eddie Griffin's routine. The anology of White men can't jump and the black father comment was indefensible. Like most people, I don't follow comics closely, so the public won't really know who is stealing jokes. But when every comic comes out and says he's stealing jokes, and then the guy who put the film together showed a comic telling a joke and then Carlos telling the same joke, I'd say it's safe to say that he's stealing jokes.
