USC's White losing credibility as draft approaches

Sounds like a bad news character in the making. I'd stay away from this guy. Sounds like he's got some real issues with work ethic, responsiblity and immaturity and probably thinks he is God's gift to the football world .

What did he expect was going to happen after he showed up out of shape, fat, and appeared to have "i dont care attitude" at his Pro Day.

Reggie Bush for example, he knows he is a top pick, #1 even, and yet he still showed up and pushed himself, and was MAD at himself for his lousy 4.3, 40.

Maybe Denver can trade down from 22 and pick him up in the second round.

When he was interviewed on the NFL network he looked like Baby Huey in a 4" think fat suit.

He may turn out to be a good RB but sounds like he could be a major headache as well. Particularly in his own home town with all the added distractions.

I say punt unless we get Vernon Davis a a great DE prospect and he drops to us in the 2nd round. Even still I'd hope Shanny or Turner would visit with him beforehand to get a feel for what this guy is like.

Could be Maurice II all over again.

As much as SoCal keeps pimping him, I see alot of red flags. If we move down into the early second and replace a third, maybe we take him with a 2.

We could try to bring him in for a personal workout, but would he even show? How does a stiff hammy make you get a pathetic 15 reps and on your back? Not only that, as you get older you generally get heavier.

I don't think he fits our style either. Our OL doesn't play smashmouth, one of the reasons we can't pound it in against a Jumbo Defense. I'm not sold.

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

I just have a feeling we are going to draft this guy. he could fall to 22 now. I think the Pats might be interested cause they might need a rb, but now with the fatguy thing, they might pass. and we did feed the cow dinner. Adam shchefter said a team with a mid round pick will get him. I have a feeling that might be us. but now that people don't want him, we could get him with the 22,or if teams realy hate him, we could get him in the second. I just have a feeling we will get him. and I think he would be good here.

He'll go in first. My challenge stands from another thread. If White drops into the 2nd I'll use a Brokeback picture in my avatar but if he's taken in the first the challenger has to. Any takers? He is dropping like a stone into our laps with the 22nd pick.

What a dumbass. Good luck to whoever drafts this guy, and hopefully LenDale won't be coming home.

The Pro Day is basically their FINAL INTERVIEW for their desired position (employment)...

And White basically laughed at the boss, pulled out a cigarette, began smoking it and threw his FEET up on the BOSS's Desk...

The only way I'd take him at 22 is if he signs a contract as Rich Tutens personal 'bitch-boy" from March through January each year. He can eat all the pork chops he wants during February.

You'd hope that someone's desire so succeed in the NFL would help him keep his weight under control, not a contractual obligation.

No, the poster boy of the draft...I agree mostly and he researches well, but I'm just not sold...the stench of MoC and my support of the pick last year hasn't washed off yet...It just smells too much like MoC altho White hasn't been suspended or in trouble, I don't like his refusal to work out (I think his hammy is fine honestly), and he's scared to run a 40. 15 reps is pathetic for someone 244 who is supposed to be a power back.

Ha. Thats about as bad as you can screw up when a reporter is blasting you in an article thats supposed to help market you. What a jerk off.

love him in the 2nd though.

As awesome as my job can be, getting blown off by a dude nearly half my age is not one of my happiest workplace experiences.
The main reason I can't understand why anyone would want to do be a sportswriter and the main reason so many of them are bitter angry pricks.

Actually, I would rather take the center from Ohio St now, but if LenDale or Bobby drops to us, I wouldn't mind.

Unfortuneatly I dont think we will draft him. Shanny doesnt let his real desires get out this early...if at all. The fact that Schefter was the one who said a team in the middle of the teens promised White they'd take him basically seals it. He's been Shanny's lapdog for a long time. I have almost no doubt the team fed him that to throw it out there. I dont think we are interested in White for those reasons (although we SHOULD be). Im getting really scared that we might take Jackson in the first round, so im trying to prepare myself for it.

I heard what Schefter said and I didn't hear him say it was a team with a pick in the mid-teens, just a pick in the teens.

I'm betting on either Philly or Dallas as the mystery team with a slight lean towards Dallas.

I disagree. I don't think Shanahan will draft another running back this high in consecutive years with character and work ethic issues.

Dallas already has two starting caliber backs though (despite Jones subpar year). It might be Philly, although they gave Westbrook a nice deal. They still need a power back ofcourse, but its alot of resources to sink into one position to go White after extending Westbrook.

Im not sure its fair to say White has bona fide character issues. Work ethic maybe, but character in the respect that he is a bad seed, hated by teammates, cancer etc....no I dont think anyone has made any kind of case on those grounds.

Waffle, there is no way he is going to drop to you anyway. Denver is not going to pass on RB twice in Round 1. If it isnt White, it will be Maroney at 22, or DW2. Even if we do pass, there are still two teams ahead of you who have a very good chance of taking a back, NE and IND.

I disagree. I think Dallas has a pair of decent RB's, a situation not all that different from ours.

LenDale's power running would be a nice compliment to Westbrook's finesse game and receiving out of the backfield.

I doubt NE would draft him, but Indy is possibility. Anyway, I would be happy if we draft this guy:
