Draft is weak for kickers. Who else is out there to bring in if Gramatica doesn't work out?

Awesome. As our kickers/punters feud, our teams must now feud as well.
Todd is going to kill that little ****.

Anyone is better than his last 2 years of 61 and 57%.

Either will Pats fans when they realize every FG from now will be a nail biter. Even when this guy makes a kick the ball is curving all over the place.

Have to wonder about a Kicker who tears his own ACL celebrating a field goal.

When compared to Vinateri, he's a downgrade. However, I think he'll do fine there. He WAS Automatica Gramatica in college...

He has trouble kicking in the cold and has a career% at least 10 points under viniteri. SO at best he will miss 3-4 kicks a year Viniterri would make. So the question becomes when will those kicks occur and will it cost them a game. I'd say it's not a reach to conclude this will cost NE at least one game this year.

That was just the way he did it. He's used to over-the-top soccer celebrations and he translated it to his game and became his gimmick.

wasn't that Bill Gramatica who injured himself celebrating, Martin's brother or cousin?

yep, it was Bill, Martin sucked his last few years, but Bill Gramatica was the one who hurt his Anterior cruciate ligament celebrating a FG

I have no clue how they let that guy go. He only had 3 game winning FG's in 3 SB's, and made that miracle kick in driving snow to beat Oakland. Sheesh, he can't be THAT expensive. He's worth more than Elam and it's a new higher cap to boot.

Actually, it was just an extra point. That was what was so goddamn funny about it. I wish someone could find a clip of that. My vote for funniest football moment ever.
EDIT: Just read the article. It was Bill, not Martin, who injured himself

no he didn't. he had 2 game winning kicks. and I believe in two of his superbowls he went 1-3. I remember the 1-3 from the carolina one, and I think the eagles one was 1-3 as well. someone should look that up.

Vinatieri had the opportunity to make some big kicks that most kickers don't get. I think MOST kickers would have made the kicks he made in those games. He was just in the right place at the right time. As mentioned earlier, he missed some big kicks in the SB against Carolina but they didn't lose the game because of them so they were kinda forgotten and forgiven. I'm not saying he is a bad kicker, I just think some high profile kicks have over-inflated his status as a kicker.

Big kicks aside Viniterri makes all kicks at a higher % then gramatica ever will.
