There still isn't any love for Broncos fans in Cleveland. Can't think of a better place to watch the drive again than in their parking lot!

The wifey gave the OK to rent an RV for this one. Got a load of broncos and browns fans for this one lined up already. Hope we can make it like Buffalo! I grew up an hour away from Clev, so it'll be a great chance to go home for a few days.
GSR, when it gets closer, we'll have to plan to get the RVs together in the lot.

Any hope of getting a tickets all together for this game when the time comes?
27atwater
04-06-2006, 06:07 PM
prolly not all together, but if we do it right, we should be able to get near or in same section. if i can't get tix thru the browns, i like stubhub.com. this way we can plan on which ones to buy as a group.

stubhub is spendy
27atwater
04-06-2006, 08:15 PM
stubhub can be pricy if yer not patient. however, if yer looking for tix for larger groups, it is a good way to get bunches close to eachother. The list of sections and rows are listed, so if everyone stays in contact, we can basically all try to get in the same area.

Group Tickets
Due to the high demand for PSL/season tickets, individual game tickets availability is very limited. The Cleveland Browns do offer group tickets for a limited amount of games. One of my friends started a browns backers club in the area and they go as a group every year to a game or 2. I know they are planning on making the trip for this one, so I should be able to get some good ticket/parking info from them. Can't imagine Browns tickets are hard to get.... but the whole group thing puts a twist on things
27atwater
04-07-2006, 05:22 PM
browns fans are VERY loyal and getting tix is hard...even though they suck. It's not impossible, but that group thing may be the way to go. I don't have the money to head a group thing, but I have 4-10 people who would be in no matter how we do it.

i know, aint it the best, thats why i was kinda hoping to get everybody there, we gotta get a rascal house pizza too, i luv that place.
Anyhow, im guessing that i will have 4 maybe 6 coming down with me, ive told them that im going to need some money before june, so if we get a group thing going let me know who to send the money to, cuz i also am to poor to be the front man for an operation of this size.

If Sass & I could be included into the group ticket thing, that would be great. Otherwise, let one of us know ASAP so we can make other arrangements.
This is the only game we don't have sure inside ticket access to and there's nothing we despise more than going on the fly....we like our tickets in hand well in advance of gametime.
We are prompt with the payments....just ask Broncocalijohn for verification on that if needed.

1 possible scenario that i would consider is renting the RV for an extra day (saturday). This way, if a small group wanted to hit cedar point, we could meet and go up together. Then meet up again on Sunday.

im going to cedar point, even if i go by myself, i just thought how much fun the place is so id invite everybody, i cannot be that close to it and not go, its only like 55 miles from downtown cleveland. We went to cedar point in october a few years ago, word of warning, its friggin cold coming down a 300 foot hill at 100 mph, right on the lake when its 30 degrees out (18 with the wind chill factor) SO make sure you dress warm, unless we have another winter like this year, then we can wear shorts.

Was just talking to a Raiders fan about amusement parks. We have one called Hershey Park, which is decent, but I told him he should roll out to Ohio w/ me for the weekend. He says he's in. He's a fader fan, but real cool...otherwise. So it's pretty safe to say we are a lock for both Cedar Point and the game.

for those of you really rich people, cedar point has a vip pass available now, for only like 350 bucks you get a tour guide, get to park at the front, and you dont have to wait in any lines at the park, plus you get free on ride pictures of yourself.

Tooooons of cheap tickets on stubhub.com (although the cheaper ones tend to be in upper corners / end zone). Seems like you can get decent seats for $80-$100 without a problem. Compare to the Steelers game, where you can't even get in the stadium for less than $215. If anyone wants to do a group purchase, there are plenty of groups (up to 10-14) available there too.

Here's what I found from expedia about three weeks ago.
Radisson Hotel Cleveland Gateway (1/2 mile to stadium) $ 114
Best Value Inn (at airport, over 20 miles from stadium) $ 50.50
Renaissance Cleveland (1/2 mile to stadium) $ 139
Comfort Inn (1.4 miles from stadium) $ 82
Looking at the Cleveland hotels, I think I'm going with Comfort Inn.

We found a small local dealer that has 2 rvs that he rents out, normally you have to rent for the week, but if they are available they will rent for the weekend. If there are a couple of RV's already going we might just rent a 12 passenger van and load it up w/ anything you guys need.

Meck, I'm not on much but send me a PM or something if you need anything from the locals, I'm no more than a half hour away on the eastside suburbs(Eastlake), so I can bring some stuff to the tailgate if need be, instead of hauling **** from Denver or having to buy some stuff here.

i was just down in akron and saw this place on the side of the road, dunno what your plan is or if there is anything any good at this place, but even on a family vacation i was thinkin of my bronco brothern.
oh the place is located on route 8 i guess it would be just north of akron just south of the ohio turnpike just east of the 271, its about 30 - 35 miles to the stadium i would say from this dealership thingy, just so you know.

Mrs. Bum and I will have our Winnebago at this one for sure. This could be the tailgate party to be at east of the Mississippi.
Bum, what's up brother?? Are you and the Mrs. definitely in for this one??
My wife and I look good for this one too, and I may bring my kids as well. I got engaged at the Stouffer's Downtown Hotel in Cleveland back in 1992. It is now a Renaissance Hotel and I am setting up a weekend reservation there for the weekend of the Broncos game.
I am holding off on game tickets since the Browns suck so bad, I'll be able to hopefully find cheapies the week before the game.
Who else is going to this one??

Let me know if you're gonna go.

Bum, I just realized that this is the same weekend as last years Giants game. It's really cool so many of the Giants crowd last year is heading to Cleveland as well.
The only downer is our White Sox won't be in the World Series this time. So hopefully we can kill the Brownies to make up for that.
And we have to find a good sports bar like Miami Mike's. The Flats should have plenty of cool places to hang.

Mayor cracks down on unruly tailgaters
Cleveland Mayor Jane Campbell has announced new guidelines for tailgate parties in city lots before Browns games. The regulations are aimed to make the parties safer and more suitable for families. Fans who become drunk, disorderly and dangerous could be ticketed or even arrested. Here's what you should know:
Tailgate party rules
The do's and don'ts for Cleveland Browns fans who plan tailgate parties in city parking lots:
Not allowed:
Open alcohol containers, including kegs, bottles, cans or cups.
Disorderly conduct or vandalism.
Open-pit fires.
Fireworks.
Jaywalking on the Shoreway.
Saving parking spaces.
Allowed:
Serving food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Cooking on propane or charcoal grills.
Using more than one parking space,as long as the ex- tra spots are paid for.
PARKING
The Stadium does not offer private parking facilities. It is best to utilize the nearby Port of Cleveland Parking Lot. Pre-paid parking may be arranged through AMPCO System Parking at 216.367.7922 and 216.367.7938
I have always parked in the blue lot. "Dock 20Parking Lot" http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/tickets/stadium/parking.php
I have not been there since the new "crack down" on tailgating but they always made you use cups, no cans or bottles, I haven't had a problem in the past...I guess we shall see...and see you all there

Okay, guys & girls, I talked to my brother and I quote
"Parking in the Muni lot is best. Cops will leave you alone as long as your not acting like an ass or drunk. Put all drinks in plastic cups and you'll be fine."
His father-in-law has season tickets and said they have no problem in the "Muni lot"...I said ealier I always parked in Dock 20 Parking Lot, I was wrong we do park in the Muni lot. If you look on the map http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/ticke...um/parking.php (http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/tickets/stadium/parking.php)
it is South of the stadium in gray that has the P for parking.
"It may be worth driving your car over to what is known as "the muni lot" on St. Clair (right in front of the stadium, about 1/5 mile walk)."
Anyway there are eight of us going to the game (I am only Bronco fan) we will be in the lot around 11:00 or 12:00, swing on by or let me know where everyone else is going to be...

Should I bother bringing my grill? It's decent, but not spectacular as far as cooking goes.
I really think we should try and saddle up together somewhere before hitting the lot, so we can park together. If not, we should figure the time that the bigger suppliers will be rolling in so that we can try and get close. Lugging a bunch of crap around would be tedious.
1 parking option could be the FLATS if we are worried about the lot rules.

Notice to all attending the Mile High Party @ Erie Lake Level......
The Greatest thing to happen to Cleveland since "The Drive" will be going down in the Municipal Lots. They were cracking down earlier this season but have really relaxed their rules as of late. From talking to fans that have been there this season the Brown fans should be pretty cool since they have pretty much given up this season allready. I was a little worried about having a PO'd fan sicking the cops on us but it sounds like we shouldn't have to worry about that. In fact they will probably be cheering us on so they get a better draft pick!!  They do not accept reserved parking ahead of time so if we go there we will be meeting in a parking lot at a Hotel close by and then leaving for the Lot together so that we are in line together when they open the Lots. Meeting place will be posted later this week.
Right now as it stands, we are set w/ grills, tables, canopys etc.
Some chairs will be there but bring some if you feel you need one.
Menu will include Steaks, grilled shrimp, baked beans w/ onions & bacon.
However............ we need everyone attending to bring a little something to throw on the grill and a snack, salad or dessert. If you bring brats or burgers, please bring buns also as we will not have any there I have condiments under control as well as paper plates, cups and plastic serving utensils.
We also should have plenty of beer there but it won't hurt if everyone brings some extra just in case. Water will be provided but if you want soft drinks, bring your own.
Please post (no PMs please) if you are coming and what snacks, salad or dessert you are bringing so we know how many people to plan for.

I will bring a good amount of beer- coors light, keystone, and maybe some coors original (Elway endoreses it). Also got a nice fold up Genny beer pong table- Hogan can appreciate the dirtyness of the brand name.
Ah Genessee Beer...the Green Death is legendary for cleaning out one's system in a hurry. I actually can drink the regular, but you hardly ever see it around much anymore. Lot's of people here drink the Light but I really don't understand why unless they're driving or something....it's the weakest beer I've ever run across. (it's still better than Coors or Keystone though Ha!)
Panni's eh? Never been over there. It doesn't look like it's that far from where we are so after 9 should be doable. Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

ElwayHof4 aka Randy is an old timer. Infact he was out one of the first "omane" tailgates we ever did several years ago. Anyhow I got to talking to him on the phone and he knows the area/bars etc since he lives nearby. I figure we just need to pick a bar/location and call it the "meeting place" and go from there.
FYI...GS..I roll in at 4:23pm....That's as close as I could get to 3:30pm I think you said. If you guys need to roll from the airport I'll just grab a cab and meet up with ya later.

Mowr,
We have you down for 1 Canopy, 2 Tables and Flags. I have a generator in my RV so there is power for your TV. I have a Satellite dish on my RV but am not sure if my outside TV jack will work w/ it since I've never tried it out. Please Bring your TV(how big is it?) and your portable satellite just in case. I can power them up no problem. We have the grill situation taken care of between GS and I.
Good to see Bum has this one under control. Just got back from Denver last night. The livers a little pickled and the throat a little sore but the Raiders are still 0-fer so it was well worth it. If the team is fired up like the Bum's grill were coastin to victory.

LOL! that little quote got me to one and maybe two denver home games (if they make the playoffs) from four games. But on the bright side, instead of one ticket i have to pay, ill be paying for 4 tickets in about 5 to 6 years when the boys can appreciate football. I wonder how much face value will be then?

Statement from the Cleveland Browns
In response to published reports regarding threats to several NFL stadiums this weekend, the Cleveland Browns have issued the following statement:
"We are aware of the report and have met with the appropriate federal and local authorities. We take the safety of our fans very seriously and will remain vigilant with all of our security procedures. We would like to emphasize that our fans should continue to feel comfortable attending Cleveland Browns Stadium."
The NFL released the following statement:
"The Department of Homeland Security has judged that the threat is not credible. Our stadiums are very well protected through the comprehensive security procedures we have in place, including secure facility perimeters, pat-downs, and bag searches." <!--[[4C2ZSP-Y6JW-FRRDT-M]]-->http://od.ed10.net/od/4C2ZSP/Y6JW/FRRDThttp://hd.ed10.net/hd/4C2ZSP/Y6JW/FRRDT/C5HL/YT

The "Muni" lot that everyone is talking about is a bit East of the stadium. I have it below....
Hopefully it shows up...
That said, the West 3rd lot is closer to the stadium, but a bit more "regulated", but still a good time...

OK, now I'm confused. I thought the 3rd street lot was the muni lot that Dendave and some othe fans were refering us to. If it is more regulated I would rather stay in the Lot that SportsGuru is referring to. Can you clarify this for us Dendave or another fan that has been to Cleveland? His father-in-law has season tickets and said they have no problem in the "Muni lot"...
from my brother when I asked about parking a couple of weeks ago...
Also, he said "West 3rd St and the Port Authority are the two muni lots. I would recommend parking there. We will be at the West 3rd St lot."
I have a call into my brother, to clarify, he is in Buffalo on business until Friday, so hopefully he will get back in touch within the next 24 hours. This is the best I can do for now...

Then the West 3rd lot it is....just the terms are different.
The Cleveland Municiple Parking Lot is the one pictured above, and has a bunch of tailgaiting, and is less "regulated" because of it's proximity to the stadium, but the West 3rd lot and PA Lot will work.

Same here bro, I am bummed. We'll definitely meet up.
If the Jets and Broncos finish in the same place this year, the Broncos will come to the Meadowlands to play the Jets, each of the next two years.
They are coming here in 2008 no matter what, and I will set up the same plans I did last year for the Giants game last year. We had a very affordable hotel, cool sports bar and a good location to the Meadowlands.
The next time they come to the Meadowlands you have to make it.
My son is also a Chargers fan, so someday I hope to join the West Coast contingent for you annual Bolt-Fest.
Im kinda new here but have been on broncomania for years. I will be coming to the game too and would like to hook up with you folks before the game. Since I only live about an hour and a half from the stadium I could just drive in on sunday morning and give someone a call. That said, the West 3rd lot is closer to the stadium, but a bit more "regulated", but still a good time...
I hope that helps..
Hope to see you all Saturday Night!

How long are you in for 12th?
You're right down by Cooperstown, Mr. Bills et. al....been thinking about taking Sass down that way for some "pregame" to the Panni's thing....swing around, we should be fairly easy to pick out Ha!

We've actually already had a discussion about that future Jets game....we'll have to see B as I know next to nothing about NYC and there are some transportation issues to and from the airport and such....there's lot's of time for that though, so who knows.
This will probably be the last year for Diego for me at least....I take a huge financial hit making that trip, something I just can't sustain year in and year out.

So it's Panni's then, right? Sat, 9 PM.....gotcha.
As for the tailgate, I'm almost certain we'll swing by....I haven't read too far back in the thread or anything, so I don't know the answer to this (so pardon me if it's been asked before)..is it true that they loosened up on those bullshat restrictions? Transporting brew thru the lot won't be an issue or anything, will it?

Just to confirm what GSRelyea just posted above that we will be parking at the Muni lot further away. Since it is less regulated because it is farther away(about 3 blocks walk). I will be bringing plastic cups for beer to help keep the PC police off our backs. Does anyone have a trash can they can bring. I'll have plenty of 33 gallon trash bags for the empty's? I know it sucks w/ their stupid rules and all but the last thing I want is for everyone to show up, set up and start tailgaiting and then have to shut it down because we happen to be to close to the stadium. Sorry for not being able to post earlier as I was at the hospital this evening w/ my daughter who was in for some tests. Hope this clears everything up. Again if you get lost please call my cell @260-894-1400 or GSRelyea @ 518-469-8931. Hope we get lots of Bronco fans and that everyone has an enjoyable time they never forget.
Also we will be meeting @ MowrMowr's hotel the Wyndham @10 am for those who want to park together a the Muni Lot.

You won't have to deal with NYC at all bro. You would fly into Newark Airport in New Jersey and, short of a tourist trip into Manhattan, you could completely avoid NYC if you wanted to.
I'm assuming you can fly from Western New York to Newark?? Maybe not.
We'll make it work.

Ken, same here.
Almost 1 year ago today, you, Disco and Meck rolled onto Long Island with that beautiful rig, and made alot of great memories for my football kids. They, and I, will never forget it.
I would guess it was pretty close to right now, one year ago, that you were sleeping in my driveway. Myself, Meck and Disco continued to pound beers in my backyard and basement, but you were sane and actually got some sleep on that Friday Night.
362 days ago I believe. An all time life memory for me. Thanks again to you all.

The Muni lot does fill up pretty early becuase there is really no open/close time..I have seen Browns fans head there over-night, though I think they have squelched that a bit....
As far as 5-O, just err on the side of caution. We are going to be wearing Broncos garb, so I am sure they will watch us a bit more closely than Browns fans....If you know what I mean.

Ahh, I am not going to be able to make the CLE game this weekend.
MY family has just had several funerals, I have to teach, and the weather is going to suck for my young Kids and my family that was going to watch them has decided to go to PIT game instead.
Luckily, I have my Class covered Thanksgiving week and I am going to the SD home game instead. Should be a Great game.

Hope, I don't oversleep! (The later flight at 1:15 also didn't give me any leeway for the 30 minutes I might have to catch my Cleveland flight leaving Chicago at 3:45 pm...so I"d rather play it safe!) Just spoke with Bum. His RV is too tall for west 3rd lot.
They are currently parked at an AAMCO private lot on the corner of EAST 13th and Rockwell. Cost is cheaper and locals say lot won't fill as quickly as Muni lots. They are already parked there and say it's a 5 min walk to the stadium. Please advise all whom you can by phone, text, etc. THANK YOU!!!

Thanks for your kind words Atwater & Sports Guru. Couldn't have done it w/o you guys. Also special thanks to Greg, Jimmy and gang from NY. Wish I had time and money to go to all the games. Until next year unless we happen to host a playoff game in Denver(or if by chance we have to go to Indy in the playoffs). We plan to go to at least one or two away games next year. Hope to see ya all then!!!!
Lots of Bronco fans representin' at this game. Great to see! Wish I would have hit town early enough to cruise by The Bums...
The clips they kept showing of the '89 Clev/Bron game were hillarious....no mention of the Drive or the Fumble...but that 1989 16-13 Cleveland win got a ton of airtime on the jumbo.
