I know the timing of this news is fishy. But the site says that Huff is falling because people can't decide "if Huff a Safety or is Huff a CB". If we stand pat at 15 he could fall to us.

Ummm...
San Fran could use him at either safety or corner. I really don't see that report as being true.

If Huff fell to 15, I think he would probably fall to 16 also.

Remember Brandon Browner? He was supposed to go late in the second round and ended up not even being drafted for the same reasons. Matt Payne was a tweener kicker and didn't get drafted because he was similarly a "jack of all trades and master of none" kind of player.

We don't really need a CB, and we don't really need a saftey either. We have much more needs < pass rush > then Huff. If he fell down to 15, theirs a reason.

Huff became a corner when he had a 4.3 40. JMO.

Brandon Browner is in no way comparable to Michael Huff. I'll give you size, but that's it.
Browner went down the drain when he ran a 4.7...

I don' believe that Huff will fall out of the top 10. He is easily one of the top defensive talents the draft has had in a few years. I would love to see him end up in orange and blue but i doubt he falls out of the top 10, but every year at least 1 supposed top10 pick falls to the bottom of the first round. Maybe denver gets lucky and this guy falls. Because they would have one of the most explosive Safeties being groomed by Lynch. Plus he could start today, so it would be an awesome thing if he fell. But just like Bush Leinart, Mario, Hawk, Cutler, Young and Davis, He will be gone by number 15.

I'm not saying they're comparable as players I'm saying their situations were similar. Both were sort of tweeners in their possitions.

Reports have already indicated that the Broncos FO has had contact with Ko Sampson, Daniel Bullocks, and if I recall correctly Greg Blue. Huff would be a better safety than all of those guys, and offers the ability to move to CB in a time of need.
If he fell to 15 it wouldn't surprise me at all if we took him. Not sure how much he'd play his first year, since we make it hard for rookies to beat out established contributors. He'd be fighting with Brandon and Ferguson for the starting FS spot I'd guess, if he could beat out one of the two he'd be the new nickle back.

I'll give you a better example Tebucky Jones. When Pete Carroll drated him in the first round the idea was to make a big athletic CB for the Pats. The experiment never worked out and after a few years he was eventaually moved back to his natural position of safety.

Naw, Brandon dropped out of the draft b/c he ran in the 4.7's. Huff ran in the 4.3's and is one of the best cover guys in the draft. If he falls it won't be out of the top 20.

Difference is - Ko, Bullocks, & Blue - are all 2nd to 3rd round types.
IMO, we have too many gaping holes on offense and d-line to look at a saftey in the 1st round.

We were showing interest in Ko Sampson back when he was considered a mid/late first rounder though.
