This was in response to my mock draft on my website and he brings up a surprising trade option.
"As much as I respect your opinion, The word around here in Detroit is Hawk, Huff or trade.. Rumors are rampet that Detroit is trying to trade the pick, along with (Mike Williams) to Denver, for the 15th and 22nd pick. I personaly can't see that happening. If Cutler is there, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Lions draft him either. I enjoy your picks

For Mike Williams? I would prefer Roy Williams, then they have a deal.

I'd take that deal if Ngata was still on the board at 9.

Mike Williams and their ninth pick for our two firsts? Hmmm....depends on who is on the board that has fallen but I'd be interested.

If you get him to lose his beer gut, Williams is better than any WR in this draft. Plus pick number 9. Sounds like a deal worth checking out.

Who knows if any of this is even close but that brings in a young pos. WR and a pick to take several players we wouldnt have had a chance to see. I think Dinger could help out M. Williams, and this is only his 2nd year in the league and usualy it takes a couple years for WR to take off.

I would have a hard-on if Vernon Davis somehow slipped to 15th.
But other than that, I always have a hard-on for Halle Berry, Gabrielle Union and Tatyana Ali.

odds of him slipping to number 15 is slim and none so why bother dreaming about it.

Since I didn't watch many Detroit games last year, how did Mike Williams do? He has so so stats. I know Roy Williams was a budding star. I think I would take Mike Williams, Charlies Rodgers and 9th pick for the 15 an 22.

Williams and Davis @ 9 would be sweet! Trade for Ricky Williams and we're set offensively this season!

Rogers can't stay healthy and has already been suspended 4 games for (I believe) pot. 1 more positive pee test and he's gone for a year.

It was something like steroids or another illegal supplement for Rodgers not pot. I trying to find the link, but I think I heard it on NFL network

Mike only started 4 games last year for the Lions and was beaten out of the starting line-up by Scotty Vines. He caught 29 balls for 350 yards last year and 1 TD.

After doing so research I think that we need a hell of lot more from Detroit. Supposedly Mike Williams is up to 250 pounds, and it ain't muscle mass.
More weight issues for Mike Williams?
There's been some buzz that the Lions are getting more concerned about Mike Williams and his weight problems. Williams carried extra pounds last year and was never in excellent shape. Last year, he fluctuated between 245 and 250 pounds and the Lions want him down to 235, if not 230, and early indications are that Williams hasn't exactly hopped the fast track to that destination. Stay tuned.

What does it say about your organization when you spend 3 straight first round draft picks on WRs, and your starting WR is the immortal Scotty Vines?

Why not dream alittle...
If we could come out of this draft with MIKE WILLIAMS, POPE and LENDALE WHITE...
Talk about adding some serious SIZE and MIGHT to your offense...
We could just WILL our way to score and out SMASHMOUTH the opposition on a weekly basis.
I don't care how you do it Shanahan, just use some of your MAGIC and get it done. ;)

Exactly how do you envisage that scenario if we're giving up 2 1st rounders for 1 and Mike Williams unless the Broncos traded down again which would be comical.

Just like Rich Tuten get a hold of him and that beer gut won't be a problem. If this trade goes down, Williams will become very familiar with "the beast."
Heh heh.

Hitting on one of three I suppose is ok...but not when you have a top 10 pick three straight years, and thats who you pick up. If Rodgers can stay healthy, him and Roy Williams are a good duo. Mike Williams is still knocking the rust off, but dude, 250 lb WR?

Basically means we'd be getting Mike Williams for a mid 2nd round pick. Also means we'd get to draft one of Davis, Huff, Ngata or Bunkley.

I don't care if all three of them turn out to be Pro Bowlers, you don't spend three straight top ten picks on wide receivers. Shanahan would get crucified on this board if he ever pulled something like that and deservedly so.

If the Broncos drafted WR three straight years and 2 of them showed any promise, this board would find something else to complain about. Like how we have no OL depth...
:Broncos:
It solves our wr/te problem by having three good options on the field and leaves us in a position to grab a likely impact player at 9. Sweet!

I thought Green did quite well last year when replacing Foster for plays, we also have Alexander and Carswell back this year to compete with Myers.

Ive read Williams is eventually going to have to play at TE regardless. As a WR, he probably will not be able to get the seperation needed against pro CBs (he certainly did not do it his first year in the league). Its not the Pac-10 anymore, you cant simply outmuscle everyone. He would be a fabulous TE. Mike Williams and the No. 9 pick would be yet another rape for Shanny.
You take the No. 9 and trade down again, to the late teens and pick up a 2nd rounder.
