Good for Kubiak. With Johnson and Moulds, Carr has some weapons at WR.

Nice to see a team actually going the extra mile to sign some players (outside their organization) who can make an impact.
(Yes, I'm bitter about this off-season. Sue me.)

They better sign some OL before we start annoiting them the best offense in football. Doesn't matter who you have at WR if your QB is on his back.

Good... I was worried that Denver was going to break the Bank to try to sign him.
I wasn’t that sold on him anyways, I didn’t like the idea of bringing in a 10 year vet. I couldn’t see him being happy as the #3 WR.
Javon Walker (4 year vet) is the WR that I can see giving up a 4th round pick for and let him compete with Ashley Lelie for the #2 WR.

Damn You..Damn you to Hell!
Seriously, till they get the OL fixed, it will be the same story, only now Pubes will have Carr going 5 wide nintendo. Doesn't matter how many skill players you have if Carr is on his back.
The Texans have alot of cap I think, but Bush will be expensive. The logical thing would be to trade his pick to us for our two #1's and a conditional, then we trade down and get Vernon and a couple more picks. I think Pubes will be a good dance partner with us. Too bad the Texans arent in the NFC which would of made it easier.
Before we all freak, lets see how much moola Pubes shelled out.

I'm not too upset because I relize that Terrel or a rookie is going to have to step u p and be the #3 or beat lelie out for #2. Denver isn't going to sign a high price WR or trade for one. Just the way it is I think shanny is against high $ FA since he has had a lot of bad luck with the IHOPS and Carter's.

Chill champ, Walker will be here soon. Then we trade for Ricky Williams, trade up and get TE Davis and then draft defence for the rest of the draft. Easy!

I heard the Texans were talking about a 4th or a 5th going to Buffalo.
Personally, I'd rather see what the Texans could do with Jerome Mathis (4.28 40) as the #2 wide receiver. But AJ, Bush and Mathis out in the pass patterns and any defense would be sucking wind by the 4th quarter.
True, also, that the Texans need to fix the line. They've decided to fix the line by bringing back all the same guys they had last year. And add Mike Flanagan.

Why the panic I heard for months on here that we are only 1 or 2 players away. If that's all we need we did not need to be active in FA. We have 2 #1's to help our cause in 07 and beyond. I like that we didn't ruin our cap for over priced FA's. We can add pieces through the draft.
Over spending in FA does not gaurantee success the offseason is far from over no need to push panic button.

Honestly i think Shanny is either banking that Lelie will have a monster breakout year, Rod will be his usual productive self, Duke will turn into this years Antonio Gates, and Terrell, Devoe or Adams, will turn into a very productive number3 WR. Or he has other free agents in mind or maybe he is close to a deal with Javon Walker. because he hasn't really been competing much for any of the free agent wide receivers there have been.

Why TP was worthless Putz was nothing MA on the decline. Really big losses wow. I'm not busting anyones chops but, I felt we needed the same upgrades if we kept all 3 of these guys. My main point is be concerned when training camp starts not until we can add some depth by then. Be realistic we are not going to superstars in FA but, hopefully ones that will give us solid play next year.
We need upgrade help at DE DT WR (TE RB FS is needed and might be positions to tempting to pass on in first 2 rounds. My math isn't the best but,
we have 3 picks in first 2 rounds (I wish we had 6 picks in first 2 rounds this year)
BTW I never felt we were two players away like team or most fans did we are 7 or 8 players away right now.

Why is everyone so big on TE VD? I would much rather have Pope, Lewis, Byrd, or CU. TE's that actually did something in there NCAA games. Just because someone is a work out freak doesn't mean he will be great in NFL.
I think the addition of Moulds is good for Houston. He fits in as a solid #2 behind AJ and moving Jabbar Gaffney to #3 is a perfect fit.
Now to address the the Oline "problems. Lets say that the Texans decide to stick with Dominic Davis at RB, he is a real good RB and he catches alot of passes from Carr.... and has a new deal as of last season. Say they trade out of the #1 spot and then pick up D'Brickashaw Ferguson to play tackle with what would be 1 of 2 1st round picks they would get in the trade (see Jets) Sign another OT/OG or the best center in the draft as well. This would be a huge upgrade to the Oline and save them cap space by surrendering the overall #1 pick.
This makes alot of sense to me. Reaction?

Huh?
A 4th rounder for Walker? That's just a wee bit of an underestimate.
As for him "competing" with Lelie, that competition would last about 1 pre-season game. Walker would have a chance to unseat Rod, at least statistically.

Vernon is perfect for Denver. The only thing I wonder about are his hands. He looks like he catches the ball with the heels of his palms.
The guy is AMAZING in the open field though. I wouldnt be surprised at all if Denver was targeting Davis, and I would absolutely love to see Denver trade up for him. He's as much of a cant miss player as you can get.

The monster is constantly double teamed, triple teamed and even qudruple teamed. It doesn't matter how he catches the ball., he obviously goes up to get it, and doesn't drop it.
He throws corners around like rag dolls.

Wow I have spent about two days in a crawl space fixing a old gravity heater, I haven't heard the news. That really sucks I was really pulling for us to land Moulds. I think our FA shopping spree ended with Lang, so I have to think now that we will not be bundling our draft picks to move up again and we will indeed take two first rounders. Maybe that is why we are not spending anything on FA's this season. Shanny must think that whatever we need to push us over the edge will come in the draft. We will for sure go after a WR in the draft now, I don't think they will resign Lelie next year.

Vernon Davis did say he had talked to #15. I don't know if that was before or after the trades. The guy swats corners off like flies with one hand. This an elite wide reciever in a TE body. Oh well...thanks Joe Gibbs. This guy yas elite speed, great hands, is elusive and will block. I'm so pissed at Goe Gibbs. Why did that SOB have to run a 4.38 at the combine at 255 and embarass all the WR's at 180?
The kid is quadruple teamed and still shakes them all off. Why didn't he put up huge numbers? BECAUSE HE WAS DOUBLE OR TRIPLE TEAMED.

He's Terrell Owens in the body of a stinkin chisled linebacker! He is truly a unique specimen and should absolutely dominate whatever punk tries to cover him as a LB. He's faster than most corners and WR's, and stronger than most LB's!
He seems to be the top TE prospect of all time. Here's what McShay had to say about him:
mike: What are your thoughts on Vernon Davis? Is he the niners choice?
Todd McShay: I would be shocked if Davis slips out of the top-10. He was fast-rising during the season but his record-setting combine workout put him over the edge. Davis is a freak of nature. I thinks he could go as early as sixth to the 49ers and I also am hearing that the Raiders (7), Bills (8), Lions (9) and Cardinals (10) are seriously considering taking Davis if he's still available.
