Who would you rather the Broncos went for this offseason. Shanahan has already stated via Burger Bill that he will draft a QB this year and Bill reckons it'll be a mid rounder not one of the top 3 available. But in recent days we've also been linked with A Wright and J Harrington and have requested permission and have had it granted to talk to Joey.

ESPN news has also reported today that Mr Pro Bowl Fumblitis Steve McNair may well be released soon due to salary cap reasons.

I would be happy with any of the options except #4, #5, and #6. I don't want to trade up for a QB...

Stick with BVP and draft a 4th round project like Barrick Nealy to work with. We've got Jake on contract for three more years, he's guaranteed to play at least two of 'em if you ask me. No need to rush out and overpay for a QB who can't see the field until '08 at soonest, probably '09.

Of course, if Vince Young falls to 15 I don't think Shanny would even question it, he'd snap him up in a second.

Didn't want to put too many options up bro but I'm sure most on here would cream their pants if any of the big 3 were available at 15.

I still pushing Whitehurst in the 4th. Hopefully his injury drive him down

"Sign McNair if he's released and the price is right"

Should say "sign McNair, demote Plummer"

The only option I don't like is "Anthony Wright" I can't see McNair coming here, he is beat-up and I don't think that there is too much left in the tank.

I would love to see a QB who could really develop, Harrington could be a fair priced option. Any of the other young QB's would also be great.

BVP should be playing "/" and be the thrid string guy.

I took Leinhart, no idea why. I wouldn't mind Omar Jacobs in the 2nd. We would probably have to get a 3rd or use our 2nd on Whitehurst or Croyle.

Oh of course, but I don't think we'll go QB on the first day, very possibly not until late in the second day, short of something like Young or Cutler falling to 15. Otherwise Shanny will look to secure another project this year and continue to evaluate our QB of the future plans on a year by year basis.

I like the option of "Stay put, but don't pass on Young or Cutler if they somehow drop to #15"

Its funny that people voted for Harrington if the price is right and not McNair if the price is right. McNair is a gutsy player and Harrington shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath.

The rumor is if Titan release McNair due to salary cap issue, the Ratbirds will go all out to get him. That why they haven't signed Collins yet.

I could take a flier on Josh Betts in the 6th. Has an absolute cannon, but needs to grow into being a QB instead of thrower.

Like you said, he is no back-up. he is not going to come here and hold the clip board for Jake, he is better then Jake.

Bringing in Harrington is similar to bringing in a Ghost. The question is who would you want if the money is not a problem to back up Plummer. I myself have always been a McNair fan. Even though I dont believe McNair is a backup, if Plummer went down I could care less who are backup is if we have no chance of winning as would be the case with either BVP or Harrington was supposed to carry us through a playoff run.

i dont understand why some of you guys are always supporting "project qb's" to take in the middle rounds of the draft...are you really expecting the next tom brady? all you can expect is someone who will never be any better than a backup, and we already have that in BVP, he will develop into a solid #2.

i think you do not draft your qb of the future in the middle of the draft, you invest a lot in him, a first round pick. No point wasting middle round picks every year on qb's that wont stick around, when you could select instead on offensive lineman for example who will help the team for years to come.

i just think there are certain rounds to pick certain positions...and qb in later rounds is not sensible to me unless you are only looking for a backup

Vince Young. If not...just ride Jake out til he's like 40 and move BVP to MLB.

My bet is that we sign someone like Wright and then cut him him camp so long as BVP shows any progress at all. Then, a few games into the season, after Jake gets hurt, we'll try to bring him back in.

I voted Cutler however I wouldn't trade to high up to grab him. Ideally I'd love to see him slip to 15. Unlikely though.

Anthony Wright wouldn't be a bad choice. He has started 19 games for Cowboys and Ravens and he has a decent winning percentage.

He is mobile and has a good arm. I say bringing him in wouldn't be bad at all.

He could battle BVP for the second spot.

McNair is basically 70 years old. Everytime he takes a hit he shatters like a piece of fine China. At least Harrington still has some potential upside.
