Just wondering who we all think will make way for this years rookies and FA?
My first guess would be maybe darrius watts gets cut?

Darius Watts, Roc Alexander, Curome Cox, off the top of my head.

Curome is solid, i hope he stays.
Roc should be gone, and we lost 3 guys, so thats my guys..

Alexander I think would go before Cox though. I noticed Chris Young already gone.

BOO!
He's a very colorful writer and I like the guy, but if we draft a TE high or even relatively high, which I think is likely, he's going to have a hard time making the roster given that he is always hurt and also given that we will keep SA around for a veteran presence at the position, Duke and ofcourse Leach.
The competition will be extremely fierce yet again for the final 53 spots. With two first rounders, a second and three fourths (should we choose to keep the two regular 4ths) all in a very deep draft, plus probably at least 1 player of the 5th, 6th and UDFA getting in, I think Nate is definitely in a great deal of danger.

i think they should let Nate move back to WR and compete

Curome is solid, i hope he stays.
I agree. Cox has been consistant. He's average, but consistant and plays well on special teams.
Roc will be gone if we choose to draft a return man this year (like Bloom). Beyond his return abilities, we don't need Roc.

I agree. He is always limping around. We've played with him enough - this camp could be his last chance.

I think Cox will be gone becasue we'll draft a better safety, Brandon and Furguson will be backups(Or one will start oppoite Lynch), and there's just no rooms for him.
Cecil Sapp should be gone, as well as Demtrian Veal...especially if we draft an inside guy.

Cox is not going anywhere IMO. I dont see a rookie beating him for a spot.

David Terrell sounds like he will, unless he does a tank job at camp. Hopefully he can get us a #3 WR we desperately need. How bout we focus on the possible suprises coming into camp - I agree - don't cut a Bronco until it's time 18kennychris has a good point!!!

I dont expect them to take a CB at all, its not so much the competition at that spot, its more just the difficulty squeezing the starters, high picks, and contributors into 53 spots really. Curome probably was one of the last guys to get into the final 53 last year. There will probably be about 6 guys (at least) from this year's draft class and UDFA class who will get in (both firsts and the second are locks, some wiggle room im giving here as I think one of the fourths might be Practice Squad or Fake IR or Real IR, and ill be conservative and say out of the 5th, 6th and all the UDFA only 1 guy makes the roster). That puts him squarely in danger. I dont think Shanny would having a problem keeping only 4 cornerbacks in Champ, D-Will, Foxy and Paymah if a) Paymah shows continued improvement and also since Sam Brandon is often in the Nickel and Dime defenses instead of the lowest ranked corners on the roster.

he'll make it. we rotated our line with him alot didn't we? he might have one sack. I just rembeber seeing him and for some reason I liked his effort a lot. I know, one sack, whoopie, big deal. but he's a good releiver for our starters.

I'll be sure to find this thread after Draft Day. If we continue to find CBs in the draft, that might be a sign Cox is gone.

Young is already gone I think. Roc, yes he will be gone. Cox though? I doubt it. He was very consistant and he can play both CB and Saftey. Brandon Browner might be gone, depending on his injury. But alot of people were pretty high on him last season before he got hurt. I say Cox will beat out Paymah.
Champ
Darrent Williams
Foxworth
Cox
And 1 other I think.
Also, I think Veal will stick. He showed alot of promise last year. He got great push most of the time he was in.

Players on the bubble;
BVP if we draft a QB early/mid rounds
Sapp if we draft a full-back
Miree is gone
Watts/Devoe if we draft WR's, trade for Moulds or Walker
N Jackson
Carswell depending on recovery
PJ Alexander see above
C Jackson if we draft DE
Alexander Roc is gone
Shoate is gone
Between Abdullah/Browner for 4th safety spot, both could be gone if we draft a S or Cox could go back there if we draft a CB

We'll keep Devoe in all likelhood as teh number 5 or 6 WR. he's a potential player and a good special teams guy.

Veal still hasn't signed anything with Denver yet and isn't on our payroll for 2006. Dunno WTF happened there but he was supposed to be an ERFA.

I wouldnt be surprised if Shoate made a little noise in the summer. He was on the IR the whole year I think, but I still cant get over how good of a run defender he is for a cornerback. In the Buffalo preseason game in 2004 he was blowing up reverses and providing good run support from the flats. He had good instincts too but he's not too gifted physically. It will be difficult for him to make it, but I think he'll be scratching and clawing.

Id be suprised at only four corners considering we have had at least one corner go down in each of last 3 years.

We normally carry 5 or 6 corners every season.

As sad as it is to say this ... I think there is mounting evidence that Keith Burns' career might be over ...
And people keep listing Roc Alexander, which is shortsighted in my opinion - Roc is a special teams DEMON...
In fact, I'll bet avatars right now (1 week...) that both Roc and Cox make the roster ...

People can't really make that guess until after the draft. Denver might not draft one CB. If that is the case they got a good chance of sticking. I think Denver will draft a safety in the first 3 picks. Trading up for Huff is a possibilty.
Of course just about anything is a possibility.

Here are some names that have been mentioned that should not have been.
Demetrin Veal- Perhaps a starter this year if he stays his course. Easily a solid roatation guy.
Curome Cox- Best STer outside of Burns (who may not be back).
Todd Devoe- Made more plays with limited chances than any young WR we have. Solid ST player as well.
Wesley Duke- With not a single receiving TE on the roster with experience, Duke will make this team with ease.
Corey Jackson- Sounds like he's expected to be a difference maker.
Bradlee Van Pelt-This is the most uninformed suggestion on here. There are obviously some CU die hards here who still can't get over their bias, but come on.
Here are a couple that I think are in trouble.
Charlie Adams- There's a likelihood we'll take a WR earlier in this draft than we have in years, and Adams hasn't made a play at the position that I can remember. I remember a decent punt return or two, but he's been given enough chances to show his wares and hasn't shown much.
Darius Watts- I still think that Watts could be the comeback player of the year for the Broncos, but there isn't much doubt he needs to have a great camp to stick around.
Jeff Shoate- Doesn't have it to play CB, and I expect stiff competition at the S spot. He's stuck behind Browner, Brandon, and perhaps Karl Pyamah and a rookie.
Brandon Miree- Dayne, Bell, Cobbs, Sapp, and a rook. To deep for miree to stick.
Nate Jackson- If I hear one more McCaffrey comparison I'll freak out. He's never done a thing other than to remind people of Easy Eddie on paper and apperance, and it's completely unwarranted. Make one play Nate, just one.
